I'm actually glad this is on the Wii U rather than 3DS since it is basically a remake of Metroid after all. Really looking forward to playing this game on the coming weekend.
I'm 100% done with f2p. I thought there are ways to still enjoy it with no or little money but it just doesn't work. You enjoy the game and at some point the frustration sets in. For a while I tried to convince myself that "well, this game is worth 3€ to me and I got it for free" but it just feels terrible if you feel like you have to pay to win and eventually it always does.
Ok I just went all over the German eshop and the first game is nowhere to find...is this one of those situations again where it was realized absolutely every except Germany????
Uh yes, this is what bad restaurants though. When your one location struggles...open another one. That will sure help. <_< Please don't tell me anymore that Nintendo has been in buisness for 125 years, so that must know what they are doing...If they kniw what they are doing then this is their way to break away from games...cause they sure won't be able to do all of what they say if they want to keep/ gain customers. Solve your problems before you create more :/
wait, so do I understand this right: Only the people with the Embassedor 3Ds can get this? Is Nintendo really that ignorant to everything that has been happening and the outrage about this whole email thing...
I had two P&D clones on my iphone. Both were fantastic until they started to suffer from the typical f2p crap later in the game. Without the f2p elements this will be great.
@emiingham I said the same thing till my New3DS arrived today and I saw that great mix out of a bit bigger screen and much sharper graphics...gonna stay with small for now.
Also for the last vote: Streetpass still one of my favorite features. I love that we now get a constant flow of Puzzles, but I still wish we could get 1-2 new DLC games for it.
Fun fact: Nesswill be sold out quicker than any other Amiibo so far and it won't come back. I also think it isthe first ever official merchandise from Earthbound released in Europe.
I know this is kinda unrelated but man...those faceplates look fantastic.
I ordered the Embassedor 3DS (still waiting like most of Germany) but I'm not sure if I'll be happy wit it. Can't really image havong a smaller screenright now.
After being burned by the Oracle games again last year (stopped playing them the dungeon design is the worst in Zelda history in my eyes) I finally played it over the Christmas break on the WiiU after never finished it on the GBA back in the day. Absolutely surprised. After a bit of a slow start it turned out to be what I think is one of the best Zelda titles. It's definitly in my top 5 (I generally still prefer 2D). I also thought the length was perfect.
@JamieH Thanks anyway The link didn't work for me but I found someone via our streetpass community who let me log into his account and order it to my addess. So at least I get one.
@JamieH Is this bound to your account? I would love to use your mail if it's just a code. So weird they send it out randomly when it's not a gift but something people need to buy.
This is exciting. I've been hearing a lot about this game and how addicted the Japanese gaming world is. But if I remember correctly this was f2p on the phone. (Maybe I'm wrong). But this concept as an actual full price game without microtransaction is just awesome. I've been playing those kind of games on the iphone for a while but the f2p aspect always leaves a bitter taste...can't wait.
There was nothing "selected" about this. I organise Streetpass-meetings in my state and my friend does in the neighbour state. Of our base of like 60 people 1 person got the mail, and it was someone not buying many games. This is really bad to me and shows again that while Nintendo means well, they are terribly out of touch with their fans...ennoying.
I'm always surprised how much people here on the site love Tropical Freeze. I'm playing it right now and it feels like a very mediocre game to at best. I loved MK8 although it sometimes feels really unbalanced. Much more so than Smash. But yeah I'd go with MK8 if it comes to first party. Had a lot of fun with it (still do!) and it has the best DLC ever (Shovel Knight still my game of the year and I feel like that game is pretty much perfect).
@Pod Same here in Germany. I slowly start to see less villagers and Marths not that the second wave has arrived but the kids all buy Skylanders (Infinity doesn't seem to go over too well here either). I'm pretty sure the reason is that it's mostly collectors/nostalgic Nintendo-Fans who cause the shortage in the States and of course: The resellers who bought them 20 times and make the prices now.
Shovel Knight is by far my game of the year. I think it's the best game ever made in its genre. DK is still shrinkwrapped since I lived abroad for most of the year and still working throuh the backcatalog of the WiiU. Really looking forward to that.
@MadAdam81 You know what...I didn't wanna buy them and sell them because I don't feel like ripping people off. But doing it a fair price is really not a bad idea. I wouldn't mind. In fact (and sorry to all Americans who have to read this and didn't get one) I just bought mine 2 hours ago at a reduced price because they are not going so well here. They were 12 bucks...
I got the last adapter in my local shop...this is two days before the official release!!! I'm mostly playing with the pro Controller though. I think the Amiibo shortage still hasn't reached Germany. I see Marth and Wii Fit Trainer everywhere...
I don't really worry about this because there is noone Nintendo will go through with Sony after all that happened in the last couple of weeks. Nintendo is already scared. This won't help!
@NinjaWaddleDee Nintendo didn't plan on this. I don't think they want to keep these figurines from you but rather just didn't expect the hype (because they're bad with these kind of things) and don't have more shelf space. Also: Wii Fit and Marth are only a big hit because they are rumored to be sold out soon. Again: Here in Germany noone cares about this. All figurines are plenty and normal price. But as soon as the rumor arrived people in the States (especially greedy resellers) rushed to the stores and bought them out.
So glad we don't have all this in Germany. No retailer exclusives and plenty in stock. I also think we have as many people who buy to resell here. From what I hear they went out and bought up everything in some places in the States.
I hope they let you change the perspective. Otherwise I can't really complain if it's a 2€ game...They do have leaderboards. So why not if you like these kind of games.
Btw: I really like the shuffle function for the themes. Made me download some more right away. The thing that was keeping me was that I'm too lazy to change them all the time. ^^
I gotta say this article dosen't make a lot of sense to me. Sorry. The phone market is so oversaturated and I don't see why trying to get a share in is any useful to Nintendo. People only have 1 phone, but everybody who has a phone can still buy a 3DS...I don't really see the point. And then there are parts like this: "By creating its own "mobile eShop", Nintendo could release the entire Virtual Console back catalogue and unify its digital storefront across all of its devices. By linking them all together, we could finally see a time when games could be purchased on your phone and then queued for download on your 3DS or Wii U — something which Sony already allows via its own smartphone application and website."
Why do we need a phone for this? Nintendo is already not good at making something out of the VC...why would that suddenly change on a phone and why do we need a phone to get a better VC.
The Miiverse thing is the same. I love Miiverse but most people are already not using it anymore. I don't see that changing just because they have it on the go.
@PlywoodStick Absolutely. I think that's why they wrote that giant article. They wanted to show it can work. It was tough (they said 12-17 hour days 7 days a week) but it worked.
To everyone who thinks they made a lot of money: There's an article out there where the completely present their whole development process. The worked without a paycheck since may. With this success the pretty much break even with having earned a normal average salary in the last 18 month...
Dom't understand people's problems with this app in the slightest. It has become my main way of watching youtube. The only thing missing is the commenting section. It's definitly 1000 times more convinient than the browser. I can also skip ads and never had any problems with the framerate.

How long did you all need to finish Mario World 3D??? For me it was 8 hours. So if you count they way some people count it was waaaaaaaaaaaaayy to expencive.
So many people on a site about Nintendo complaining about the price tag. 0o I played through shorter Nintendo games that were 40-60 bucks. This game is well wort its money.
I think the pricing changed. I had a 3 months subscription to Germany that just ended (was very happy with the stuff I got), but I'm REALLY sure I paid like 5-10$ less than what its now. 28$ is pretty heavy for what you get and I fear Amiibo won't be different.
I still dig this movie. The dystopian world, the puppets, the make-up...it's all super creative and I still think going a different way with the story was the right choice.
