Update:
Renegade Kid's Jools Watsham has been in touch to clarify that the developer is also submitting Xeodrifter for age ratings and publication in Australia and New Zealand, in addition to Europe.
Original Article:
Getting a game fully certified for release in Europe isn't, unfortunately, as simple as in North America. While the process in NA is a quick and free online affair, it's a pricier and more complicated process in the EU; plans to simplify proceedings are in the works, however. While some developers and publishers nevertheless publish across both territories, others are slightly more picky in which titles make it to Europe.
Renegade Kid is one studio that's been more selective with its European releases, largely as a result of the bureaucratic and financial challenges that come with the territory. Thankfully Xeodrifter is making its way to the region - it's a snappy little Metroidvania title that we rated very highly in our review, quite a feat considering it was a snap project turned around in just five months.
Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham has given the following update on the European release, giving us some hope that it'll arrive in the not-too-distant future.
Are you looking forward to this one in Europe, or are you a North American gamer that wants to pitch it to those on the fence? Hit up the comments if so.

Great, now we just need it to make its way to Australia...
Its a fun game, but its only like 4 hours of content and the bosses are the same guy with a new move and different color skin.
@StitchScout so you don't recommend it? I saw it on sale and considered picking it up.
Been looking forward to this and Azure Striker Gunvolt for ages, so nice to see they're both almost here.
This is great news. Been looking forward to this since I first heard about the game and saw screenshots.
@shigulicious I would recommend it, especially at that price ($4 If I remember correctly). While he is right it is short, I found it tons of fun to explore the world and such.
Just finished it. It's a great little game, but could definitely use a bit more content.
@derp_da_bird thanks. It looks so much like Super Metroid. That's a good thing. I'll give it a try.
Huzzah!
Nice game, but 100% not worth $9.99. Super short and simple, about the same tier as the original Gunman Clive.
Awesome, can't wait.
Getting past the first boss takes some patience, but if you can get past it then all the other bosses are easy, they're all the same.
Also, there's this one planet that's really linear but is a huge difficulty spike. I'm still stuck there for a matter of fact.
It's a decent game, but definitely get it on sale.
"On its way to Australia and New Zealand, too."
Fantastic! Can't wait.
@shigulicious It's fun and very challenging I enjoyed it. if its on sale I would recommended to you. Although I would suggest you see some gameplay of it before buying it.
Please bring it to Oz ASAP!!!
FINALLY. Need to get my Metroidvania fix.
Looks like fun, condensed Metroid-style title. Might pick it up at some point, because come on - how many times can you replay Zero Mission?
I'd be interested in this game if it were about £2, similar to Gunman Clive, but I'm guessing it'll be in the £7-10 price range, like Mutant Mudds. Do they even take pricing into account when reviewing? Probably not as they're getting free review copies. Bring Moon Chronicles over if you want some sales. I need an excuse to use my c-stick.
