@carlos82 Nah, I just read on CNN that he’s arrived at a golf course in Florida today, so the entire plan was to plunge the world into chaos and go play golf on our dime.🌎🔥
@Uncle_Franklin Getting to that point myself. We’re a family of four and right now we’re very fortunate to have a roof over our head here in the US, but UNfortunately that could change on a dime with what’s going on so a spend like this, even if I say “screw Nintendo” and go Steam Deck it’s just too much to be spending when my country might be a wasteland in my lifetime. 😐
Furthermore, it doesn’t even matter now anyway for me- our current President here in the US just announced a tariff sh**storm and everything my family and I need is about to get a lot more expensive. I don’t think people here fully realize what’s just happened yet but I’ll keep it as apolitical as possible.
Anywho- dropping this much money right now, when we’re looking at a very real potential collapse situation feels irresponsible at best, and negligent and selfish at worst. I gotta drop games for awhile I think, we gotta see how this all shakes out.
BTW- sorry to all of the international folks here, staff, fellow gamers, etc. I’m one of those “evil radical leftists” who did NOT ask for this. My wife is English and we just got all our passports renewed so we’re ready to come over and hang with the NL crew when our country finally turns to a lifeless desert of dust and ash!😉
@UltimateOtaku91 Yeah, I was ridiculously excited after the presentation and upon seeing this info about the price & price of games I’m thinking I’ll be bowing out. It makes me sad, but we’re in a decent place financially (as in we can still eat, that’s about it lol) and this is such a stretch for us.
Console price is whatever, but when EVERYTHING starts becoming 20-30 dollars more, plus the subscriptions, DLC, etc. and it begins, for me, to feel like I’m cheating my kids out of food on the table and I’m not down for that. I need to touch a lot more grass anyway.
That list should be longer, and Dead Cells should 100% be on it. That game has consistently grown WITH the Switch with content updates galore, and it- along with Holliw Knight and so many others- was a HUGE part of the indie boom that hit when the Switch really started to take off. Dead Cells was a game changing part of that and it continues to be a high-watermark for indie games as a whole, and for a bonafide Switch success story. One of the greats- just my two cents!
Well, THIS game rules. I spent a lot time with SD Gundam Battle Alliance but it just moved too slow, I spent a TON of time with Megaton Musahi W: Wired but the visual novel stuff bored me to tears, but this? Very little interruption from super rad combat and obsessively tweaking and tinkering with my gunpla. I’ll be playing this damn thing for YEARS.🤘🏻
Absolutely phenomenal game that has become my all-time fave. It lets me do everything I love in video games, it’s gorgeous, and it’s constantly surprising. 10/10 for me, if you have even a passing interest in games like this you owe it to yourself to pick this up ASAP!
Man, I haven’t been around here in a WHILE! This one is phenomenal, I picked it up today and I’ve played a few hours already- seems daunting at first but once you settle in with the controls it’s absolute twin-stick bliss. 🤘🏻
Played it on Apple Arcade and was really enjoying it. I’d buy it on Switch in a heartbeat, especially to play with my son, but no local co-op means I’ll be waiting for a nice deep discount. Bummer.
Dude does realize that the games he puts out are fair to “eh, OK” at best right? Might be time to hang it up, unless the world needs another Q-Bert reskin or middling platformer? No? I’ll see myself out.
I like to play video games and have everything available to me. I really don’t like having to buy plastic figures to unlock certain things so it’s frustrating to me that these are a thing. Let me pay for a game and be able to get all the things. I’m even OK with the occasional IAP, but I’d rather just pay for a thing and have it be a complete thing.
I used to HATE strategy/tactics games, I was all about roguelikes and action RPGs/hack-n-slash stuff. Then, I started Unicorn Overlord and my entire gaming world has shifted. This is my favorite genre now and I immediately bought almost every single one on Switch lol. So, all that to say, I preordered the hell out of this.
Finally clicked with strategy/tactics games thanks to Unicorn Overlord so I also picked up Advance Wars: Reboot Camp, Divinity: Original Sin 2, the Tiny Metal sequel, and Wargroove 2 and I redownloaded the first Wargroove and Into the Breach too. Gonna bounce between them til I’m dead.😂
Kinda rad to know that it's definitely coming, and pretty soon too. Takes the edge off of waiting and all the rumors. I'd just love for Nintendo to have put even a LITTLE more importance on power this time, I really don't think they'll be able to keep up the level of success the Switch has had if it's another system with outdated power that consistently can't stand toe-to-toe with the current gen systems. With the advent of Steam Deck and all the other copycats it's pretty critical for Nintendo to assert a little dominance here, cause right now even some pixel art games can't run well on the current Switch.
If they can nail that, give us backwards compatibility, and improve on things like the Joy Cons, battery life, etc. we'll be looking at something really special again. REALLY hope that's the case.
Going to a music festival with my family, so it’ll be late night gaming for me- and it’s all about Megaton Musashi W: Wired and Borderlands 3. Looting, shooting, mech-hack-n-slashing heaven.
Started Guradian Tales and I'm pretty well hooked, so I'm going between that and Ni No Kuni 2 for now. Probably gonna get some SD Gundam Battle Alliance in so I can make some more progress before Megaton Musashi Wired drops in a couple weeks!
@Magician Don't know if you're aware, but Megaton Musashi: Wired is coming to Switch (outside of Japan) on April 25th!
It's an upgraded version of the original that includes everything from the FTP version and all DLC I believe as well. I just started getting into the mech games on Switch (SD Gundam Battle Alliance, Hardcore Mecha, etc.) and I flipped out when I saw the trailer- it looks KILLER, and I'm hearing that the Switch version really holds its own. So, feel free to get the hype train rollin'!
@anothergamer100 Yeah, I tried it, and I enjoyed it. But, I'm not sure if it's worth me spending the $ if it's going to be over and done that quickly. Like I said, I might snag it down the line if I feel like it, but for now I'm kinda on the fence!
I'm hearing that it's great but just really short, I like games that I can really sink my teeth into so I might wait on this one, or even wait for a more fleshed out sequel. We'll see, it's cheap enough that it's not a big deal to snag it whenever, but I'm just a fan of games I can really live in for a while so I tend to shy away from super-short games.
Been playing SD Gundam Battle Alliance and Hardcore Mecha like CRAZY so I'm off the charts hyped for this one. Even marked the release date on my Google calendar lol. So stoked!!!
Been playing both games and loving it since launch day. Never played them back in the day but I'm having a blast with this. Played online a little and it was fine for me, and all the single-player stuff is fantastic. Just saying- if you play like me it's pretty much a non-issue.
I just started Crisis Core and Star Ocean Second Story so I'm pretty maxed for a while, in addition to all the other games I have going of course lol. Been putting a ton of time into Dave the Diver too. I do have my eye on Pepper Grinder though, the demo rules and I'm hoping it reviews well. We'll see, but yeah- I'm all set for this week lol.
Just picked this up on sale, it's REALLY good! Sure, the dialogue is a little ridiculous, but it's a gorgeous remaster, the combat is excellent, and there's a ton to do. Not bad for $28.
Always glad to see fixes and such, but I've been having an absolute blast with these games regardless so it's all bonus at this point. I've started Galactic Conquest in both, but the majority of my time has been making Instant Action playlists w/heroes enabled and just enjoying the hell out of it!
@Donutman Yeah, back when these came out I was working in radio & the music industry and it was my "blackout" period for gaming. I just didn't have time, plus I was super broke lol. Lots of life happened and I got back into gaming when the Switch came out and it's been off to the races ever since. This game looks REALLY rad, and exactly the kind of thing that I could easily put a few hundred hours into and keep coming back to. Just looks like it's gonna hit all the right notes for me, and if it runs super well it's gonna look incredible. A little dated, sure, but still.
@Donutman Yeah, I crazy hyped for this! I never played them back in the day and this trailer got me super stoked. Haven't been this hyped on a game in a while!
WAY too many killer games in the backlog to mess with this. Could have been cool, but there's just too much amazing stuff to spend money on something that doesn't even seem to be trying particularly hard to be good.
Looks kinda cool, but if the environments are just those same grey squares the entire time I'm definitely gonna pass. I love roguelikes to death but I feel like all that grey would bore me to tears.

Warriors Abyss and The Binding of Isaac on Switch, Delver and Minecraft on my laptop & iPad.🤘🏻

Yeah, impressions on other platforms are really solid. Basically, if this looks rad to you then it’s a must-play. I bet it’ll run OK too.🤞🏻

Ok, I’ve been waiting for this exact formula FOR-E-VER. So stoked for this and I believe I’m gonna have to snag this ASAP tomorrow!
