After a couple hours of Prime Remastered my jaw is still on the floor. It's stunning, I had NO idea it would be this good- instant classic (again) and a high watermark Switch game. Floored.
OK, WOW- I was stoked on the announcement but, seeing it in action and playing it is unbelievable. It's absolutely stunning, it runs flawlessly, and I have to stop myself from just staring at the scenery. This is definitely not some greedy corporate hack job- this is a serious feat of design. Worth every penny, 100%. Killer Direct!!!
I bought it after watching the SwitchUp video, I had held off at launch cause of all the issues and I can confirm that it's incredible. It deserves to be played and it's a shame more outlets aren't doing what SwitchUp did, it's a classy move indeed.
Current gaming life being absolutely dominated by Rogue Legacy 2. I picked up Lone Ruin but I can't seem to put RL2 down so I suppose I'll check it out someday soon lol.
@WhiteTrashGuy All 4 of us have a Switch (OLED for my wife & I and Lites for the kids) and it allows us all to have gaming in our life in our own way. Give me a refresh with a little more juice and I'll be a happy guy, but I'm not in a hurry.
Sure, a hardware boost would be rad BUT I just played through Nier: Automata three times on my couch while watching Lilo & Stitch with my kiddos, and I'm currently kicking back with some Spanish red enjoying the absolute %$#@ out of Rogue Legacy 2 while also watching New Girl. So, I guess that's where I stand.😉
I decided to jump back into Warframe, it had been about 3 years and I realized that I had spent a decent amount of $ on a couple of Prime frames and gear so I figured “why not?”. It’s a little overwhelming but I’m just having fun leveling up my gear, running Survival missions, and just slowly seeing what happens. It’s still amazing to see in action on my Switch- it’s gorgeous, it runs flawlessly, and it doesn’t feel compromised in any way. There was a reason (or twelve) that it was my fave for a long time and I’m glad I rediscovered it. For a long time I just had WAY too many games going on at the same time. Now I’m just saying “screw it” to my insane backlog, not worrying about grabbing every single thing that comes out, and I’ve got a much more levelheaded thing going with my gaming life. So, I’m enjoying the hell out of Warframe & Minecraft these days, and I’ve been really getting back into The Binding of Isaac too. Honestly, those 3 games (WF, MC, BOI) would be my desert island games for sure, no question.
@sketchturner I recently started fresh in Skyrim after lapsing for like a year. I used to be a reviewer/games writer and I’ve got a Switch backlog 900 + games deep and I love ‘em all. That said, Skyrim is my absolute all-time fave and I’m currently at about 150 hours in my replay. It’s immersive, it’s dense but not overwhelming, it’s epic, it’s gorgeous on Switch, and the freedom and atmosphere are second to none. Yeah, it’s 11 years old- but who cares? Greatness stays great, so ignore the internet complainers and trust me on this- if anything I said makes sense, just get it. I can’t imagine you’d been anything other than stoked.
@sonicbooming I recently started fresh and it’s now my all-time fave too. I’m enjoying the absolute hell out of it and waking up to this news really WAS like Christmas lol. These people complain too damn much, it’s hilarious how upset people get about things they don’t want or care about. Whatever, I’ll be enjoying this for a long time to come and continuing to not care what anyone thinks about it. Hope your wife has a blast!
A few days ago I decided to reorganize my SD cards and sort out all the games I needed to redownload. I decided to redownload Skyrim and I realized it had been about a year since I played it. I deleted my old save and started fresh since I would have been TOTALLY lost, and I’ve literally done NOTHING else in over a week lol.
@Maxz Looks like it’s fixed them top to bottom, it’s amazing. I’ve been complaining about the connection issues all day lol, so it’s rad it got sorted out. Plays like a dream without all that nonsense.
Didn’t do much for me, I would have been stoked on Bayo 3 but I don’t like hack & slash games that grade me on accuracy, I just like to wreck s$&t so I never even finished Bayo 2. Honestly though? I’ve been playing Splatoon 3 CONSTANTLY since launch and there’s enough there to keep me happy for a long time so I’m not real fussed. I’m probably gonna snag Sonic Frontiers and a couple indies between now and the end of the year and I’m good with that. I’ve got one of the worlds most ridiculous Switch backlogs (900+ give or take) so I’m not starved for rad games to play lol. Plus, I managed to squeeze a few really great games onto my laptop via Steam so I’m in a pretty good place. All that to say- the Direct was a big “meh” for me but It’s no big deal.
Sure would LOVE that “connection issues” update sooner rather than later though, I have verified fantastic internet at my house and it’s kinda bad. Not usually on my end, but about half my matches end with someone getting disconnected. Fix it Nintendo, we WANT to play your game!
Completely, 100% deserved. I played a TON of Splatoon 2 and #3 improves upon it in every way- and that’s saying a lot. Turf War rules, Salmon Run almost feels like a roguelike, and Table Turf is crazy fun too. The single-player is brilliant and the lore stuff is outstanding. Buying & leveling up clothes is addictive as hell and the whole thing is gorgeous to look at. I was kinda “meh” on the September Direct but honestly? Doesn’t matter much to me, cause I think I’ve fully caught the Splatoon bug and with so much content at launch + in the pipeline I’ll be chillin’ in Splatsville for a nice long while. If you run into ERMATERD, that’s me.
@fluggy It’s not botched, not even close. Yeah, the load times are a little on the long side and it’s obviously not on par with the PS5 version but I’m sitting in my living room playing (and have been for a couple hours) and I’m looking at a really pretty, super fun game. Maybe it’s cause I don’t have other consoles but either way- this ain’t a 6.
We’ll, I’m HOOKED! Word of warning: once you hear the song “Fly, Fly, Fly” it will NOT leave your head. I’m listening to it on Spotify right now after playing the level like 8 times in a row just to hear it lol. This one is something special, and I’m not usually into rhythm games. I’m sick so I’m stoked to park myself on the couch tomorrow and just get into this even more. Don’t sleep on this one folks, it’s extremely well-crafted top to bottom.
Soundfall is rad, y’all! As a musician I’ve always prided myself on my meter but MAN…this game really makes you work to stay on beat! Once you lock into the groove though, it’s a real stunner and the songs are fantastic. I love roguelikes but NecroDancer didn’t QUITE gel with me, Soundfall sure does though- I’ll be spending a good while trying to get better at it but it’s so fun I don’t mind a bit.
@Grim It’s honestly my #1 gaming achievement ever, I’ve put in SO many hours on that game and loved every minute of it but I almost just assumed I’d never actually beat it so I’m pretty stoked right now!!!
@Grim I FINALLY BEAT NEUROVOIDER!!! I’ve been playing since launch day and I FINALLY DID IT!!! Used your advice man, so thank you!!! I feel like a nerd superhero right now.
@Grim Nice, thanks! I’d heard the flame thrower was the way to go for the final boss but I could never get it to do enough damage. I knew the nuke was the ticket, shoulda listened to my gut!
Just checked out Super Animal Royals and I think I’m gonna dig in for a while, I’ve got a ton of eShop credit so maybe I’ll grab the full version. It’s rad!

Man, I was really stoked for Death’s Door but after a few hours I had to put it down. The lack of a map started as a mild frustration but then it just became a complete annoyance. Pretty game though.🤷🏼♂️
I ain’t even gonna lie, I’m ALL about this one for some reason! That pixel art & animation is stunning and it looks fun as hell, I think I’ll be snagging this tomorrow!

I tried all the demos and I didn’t experience any input lag, the frame rate isn’t perfect but it’s not a dealbreaker for me, and so I decided to snag the full collection.
