@DrDaisy It's SO good, it honestly is. I was shocked at how good it was when I got it on my iPhone but they did a fantastic job bringing it to Switch and the 100% truth is that it might be one of the most fun platformers on the console. If you buy it on launch day it'll be $2.99 (US) which is a straight up steal.

if it's not gonna be a big jump/upgrade I really don't care. I'm not gonna shell out for a slight difference in graphics, it's just not worth the $. If this "next Switch" is a huge step up and they do some really rad stuff then I'll be all ears.

Honestly though, I'm completely happy with what I have and I think there's a lot more life in the current Switch than people are realizing.

ATTENTION: I'm going to have a full review up on my site after launch, but since I played this on iOS AND have now played it on Switch (and confirmed there is no embargo of course) I can CONFIDENTLY tell you guys that you NEED this game on your Switch. It is one of the best pixel art/retro styled action platformers I've ever played.Tons of content, really responsive controls (they did a great job working them over for Switch, it feels amazing), secrets, upgrades, and it'll be launching (US) at a discount for $2.99.

If ANY part of you loves this kind of game you owe it to yourself to buy Goblin Sword. Plus, the levels are JUST the right length so you can get a little time in at lunch, on the toilet, whatever lol. I don't do scored reviews on TGG but I promise you that if I did I'd probably give this one the highest marks I could.

@komodo182 I legit don't remember, like I said above- I hate playing games on my phone so I put this down after a pretty short time. I'm just excited to find out now that it's coming to Switch!

@nkarafo Yeah, I didn't finish it cause I REALLY don't like playing games on my phone but I always kinda hoped it would come to Switch so I could fully enjoy it. Everything just feels RIGHT and it's just the right balance of fun vs. challenging too. People are gonna hate on it automatically cause of its mobile roots but that's a real bummer cause it's super sun and cheap as hell too!

This is one of VERY few games I enjoyed on mobile so I’m really stoked about it coming to Switch. It’s a fantastic game so don’t count it out just cause it started life on iOS, it’s really good!

@xpownz Me neither, I also thought "maybe we're getting a new 2.5D Metroid with Platinum-style combat and I got super excited. I mean it WOULD technically be #4- Metroid, Metroid 2: Return of Samus, and Super Metroid make 3 so yeah, probably WAY off base there but whatever.

@PhilKenSebben Yeah man, I’ve got 2 boss cells and I can’t WAIT for some new levels. Motion Twin not only made maybe the best action/platformer ever-theyre also keeping it RELEVANT by supporting it so hard. Between that, Genesis, and Snack World I’m stoked, and then Animal Crossing will ruin my life soon after.

And let’s not forget about that Dead Cells DLC cause THAT's gonna be DOPE.

When your entire job/business model is SPECULATION I have zero interest in what you have to say. Also, I love my Switch so I don't really give a #$&% what some financial writer says. Also, I have enough backlog to last til my great grandchildren are dead so I'll be playing Switch for QUITE some time. If they do a Pro model, I'll get one, and the cycle will continue. Brass tacks- for a busy father of 2 with a wife, a fledgling business, and a day job at the moment there isn't a console that fits my life better. Here I stay!

We're all in on Animal Crossing! Plus with Darksiders Genesis AND Snack World coming in a few weeks, and Minecraft Dungeons in April, I think I'll be VERY well occupied for a good while.

Let's just all agree that this looks like a musou-ish game and move on with our lives. Some of us think so, and some of us don't. Some of us will like it and some of us won't, but life will go on. Somehow.

@NoxAeturnus That's kinda my thing too. I LOVE hack n slash kinda games (the Darksiders series is some of my favorite video game combat ever) so I THOUGHT that I'd be all about musou games. I picked up almost all of the ones available on Switch and each time it's been the same. I have a ton of fun for a little while and then I just fizzle out. I'm not sure why, but it just gets kinda "meh" to me. So, this looks pretty but I have a feeling it'll be more of the same and I think I'l be smart and save my $ this time.

This one comes out the same day as Darksiders Genesis and while I was excited for this one I think I'm gonna snag Darksiders Genesis instead. I only have so much time after all, and my backlog is reaching disgusting levels of huge, so I know what would happen if I bought both- One would get played and the other wouldn't, and since Darksiders Genesis is essentially EVERYTHING i love about video game combat in one package, plus an endless mode and a pretty good post-game situation, I think it's the smart money for me.

This game is going to stay with me for a LONG time. Deeply powerful stuff if you're open to that sort of thing. Fantastic and haunting.

Switch is my console of choice, I don't own anything else. I was a lapsed gamer for a LONG time until the Switch came out (got mine July 2017) and it fits my life perfectly. I don't even really pay attention to the other consoles so I don't care about what I'm missing. I have enough games to theoretically last til the end of time on my Switch so I'm good. I look at everything rad that comes out as bonus.

Yeah, once I found out the single player content was there my hype level increased dramatically. I’m hoping to review it for The Ghost Generation, it looks like something I’ve had in my head since I was a kid lol. I used to draw stuff like this ALL the time. It’s like Toy Story with weapons. What else does anyone need to say?!?!

I’m not even gonna front, this looks like something I’ll like WAY more than BOTW. The breakable weapons, incessant cooking, and near-endless wandering around straight up ruined that game for me. This looks rad.

@DockEllisD Right?! Every rad games comes out and I'm like "I'll NEVER have enough free time to play through everything I have sitting in my backlog, but this looks good so I'll get it too!" Christ, I could do NOTHING but play video games for the rest of my life and never run out of theoretical new stuff to play until I was dead from BACKLOG alone.

Wow, now THIS dropped at the right time- I just got HUGELY into deckbuilding games and I've been playing nothing but SteamWorld Quest, Slay The Spire, and Lightseekers for a week now. This looks stunning and I'm STOKED. My floating dead body with a purple heart is ready.

@mazzel Yeah, it's just too much. I have a backlog to the moon and back, reviews to work on, plus all the other stuff I have going on and the thing is that there's no real way to just jump in for some fun-you gotta get INTO it.

Man, I was CRAZY about Warframe- played it almost exclusively for like 4 months straight. Bought a bunch of stuff, made some good progress, and then I took a break. By the time I came back (maybe a few weeks) there had been a couple big updates and it just got WAY too convoluted for me. Too much %$@& to keep up with, it started to feel like a second job. It's one of the greatest games of all time, no doubt, but for me it's kind of all or nothing. It's just SO elaborate and obtuse, you gotta either play it EVERY single day or it's real easy to get totally off your face lost.

Yeah, I gotta be honest- the lack of a Switch logo is SLIGHTLY concerning. I'm not sure I was planning to get it anyway BUT- that seems like an odd choice and I wouldn't be surprised if an announcement happened in the very near future. We'll see!

@CartoonDan Yeah, that’s my question too. I don’t care about multiplayer so if there’s some good single-player content I’m down. If not, pass. I’m kinda over all the games coming out with co-op as a focus, 100% my opinion though.

@Kuroki Bought it on sale a couple weeks ago lol! After I took a chance on XBC2 I grabbed Tales of Vesperia, Ni No Kuni, FFS/X2, and FF XII on sale. Then, I said screw it and bought Atelier Ryza. So now, I'm essentially drowning in world-class RPGs. HELP!

@Kuroki Nice, it's an AMAZING game. It's what got me fully back into RPGs, I hadn't really played them in years.

@Kuroki I haven't played DQ XI yet but it's on the "to-do list" for sure. I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the first time right now too but I got sucked into Ryza! I'm hopeless.
