@BenAV We’re only 5 months in and have had new Mario Kart and Donkey Kong. Switch 1 took 8 months before we got a new exclusive game in Mario Odyssey. Breath of the Wild & Mario Kart 8 were Wii U games. People really forgot how lackluster Switch 1’s first year was.

@Dee123 Just people who like sports & video games wanting the latest version not that odd. Honestly most gamers I know are more like that than hardcore gamers. To most people gaming is just a hobby they do to have fun not so random people on the internet can approve of the way they play.

This game got its hooks in me quickly

I am always genuinely shocked how much people love Reggie. He always came across to me as a fake PR robot and the years since he’s left nintendo have just reinforced that to me.

I’m loving my Switch 2. 3 months into Switch 1’s life we had BOTW & a several year old Mario Kart plus I couldn’t find a console until August 2017 and I had like 4 games the first year.

With Switch 2 I got the console at launch and I have MKW,Fantasy Life,Tony Hawk 3 & 4,Donkey Kong,WWE2K25,Madden 26 and NBA2K26.

I usually find hearing the same lines over and over annoying after like 5 minutes in a kart racing game.

@Joe11 The thing to remember is we don’t know these people in real life and pro wrestling is a fantasy world where the wrestlers are essentially actors playing a role. I know so many people who’s world gets crushed when someone they like for acting, playing sport or music,etc turns out to be a terrible person and not the fantasy they believed them to be. The entertainment industry is largely a facade.

@Mana_Knight The controls feel more like the SVR games with some tweaks. It feels really good to play.

@PJOReilly I played MyGM for 4 hours last night. Then played an hour of Showcase and spent some time setting up my universe. I haven’t played a wrestling game that much in one sitting since the N64 or PS2.

@roboshort Ton of micro transactions in The Island & MyFaction but they are easily avoided. I spend my time in MyGM,Universe and Showcase no micro transactions there.

What I like is it looks and runs like a dream, has a ton of content(over 300 wrestlers & so many arenas) & modes. Plus its just super fun to play as it has a nice mix of simulation & arcade that you can adjust to whatever you like in the settings.

The last WWE game I played was 2K19 and it was awful. The last wrestling game I bought was AEW Fight Forever and I felt lied to as they said for like 4 years it would be like No Mercy but then it came out and was nothing like it. AEW’s game was a frantic arcade fighting game like the ps1 Smackdown’s with super short matches while No Mercy was more of a slower paced simulation game that replicated real wrestling matches.

@AG_Awesome haven’t seen a ton of reviews that do that. Reviewers really don’t aim their reviews to newcomers to the series sadly.

This is my 1st WWE2K game since 19 I am shocked at how much the series has improved. I avoid the micro transactions and play MyGM,Universe and Showcase. Easily the best wrestling game I’ve played in 20 years. Feels so good to be excited about a wrestling game hasn’t been that way for me since the N64 & PS2 eras.

@AG_Awesome This is easily the best wrestling game I’ve played in the last 20 years. Best since PS2 era easy. I’ve done royal rumble’s,elimination chambers,wargames,multi person hell in the cell and the game ran buttery smooth.

Played like 4 hours of MyGm and then fixed a bunch of the rosters overalls to my liking(HBK and Kurt Angle should not be in the 80’s).

The game runs and looks excellent. The only place I’ve seen issues is in community creation where it slows down and seems to start chugging. I’ll gladly do without CC’s if it means it will run as good as it does and is as feature rich.

This game has done the impossible its made me finally like THPS4(well atleast this revamped version). I loved the first 3 Tony Hawk’s I didn’t need crude immature humor, pornstars, voice acted NPC cut scenes & fetch quests or any of that Jackass crap that didn’t appeal to me 20+ years ago let alone today.

I’m fine with the soundtrack changes because THPS has always been about discovering music. I feel like people just look for a reason to complain or to not buy something then they complain when new games stop coming out for the series. All I heard when 1+2 came out was people calling for 3+4 or THUG Remasters now people are boycotting this release. I’m just glad we got this because for the last several years it didn’t seem likely.

@dugan Finally got my invite to buy Switch 2 yesterday from Nintendo. Don’t need it cause I got my system day 2 from Target.

@rvcolem1 It died cause they changed it for no good reason. 3 sold the best and people loved that formula. 4 killed alot of people’s interest in the series selling more than 2 million less than THPS3. Fixing something that wasn’t broken was an odd decision and sales show it didn’t work.

Never owned a Gamecube. I had just graduated high school and it looked like a purple lunchbox. Plus none of my friends were interested in it. I had Dreamcast,PS2 and XBox that generation with barely any time to play them with work & the ladies so I skipped GameCube.

It’s only been 2 weeks.
I bought a Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle,MicroSD Express Card,Carrying Case and Fantasy Life. All that was almost $700 I’m waiting to buy some other games.

Already preordered. Will be my 4th Switch 2 game.

@somnambulance Welcome to early adoption of a video game system. I remember my nephew getting a Sega Saturn & N64 day one. He was in agony at the slow trickle of games. With the PS2 he waited till Christmas 2001 and there was so many games to choose from. From that point he waits 6 months to a year with all system purchases so he doesn’t instantly regret it.

The Internet is wrong again and I guess that news I read last fall of nintendo making sure they have more than enough units for the people that want them available at launch was right.

I know its currently cool to crap on The Switch 2 but I’ve been enjoying my time with it. The key card stuff doesn’t bother me cause pretty much every time I got a switch 1 game over the last 8 years I’ve needed to download a huge portion of it.

My Switch 2 arrived today. Spent most of the afternoon & evening playing this with my nephew. We had a blast and he really liked free roam.

My buddy went to our local Target at 8am yesterday without a preorder and got one. They limited 1 per customer and only had 4 when he got there. By 9am they were gone. Best Buy had 1 system left in stock when they opened and it didn’t last long.

I got mine this morning at 3:30am with the Target restock. It shipped about an hour ago.

Was able to lock one in on the Target restock. This is earliest I’ve ever gotten a console that wasn’t strictly a handheld.

Would gladly give nintendo the money but they refused to send me an invite to purchase the thing.

Back in 2017 I preordered with Gamestop. They called me the morning before reminding me there was a midnight launch. That afternoon they called back saying they didn’t get enough stock it took me 5 months to find a switch from a scalper at a $100 upcharge. I was hoping to go directly through nintendo to not have to deal with that BS. But honestly I’m not that excited about launch being mario kart and a bunch of old games from other consoles.

I was interested cause it looks so similar to shredders revenge but the price & my never being a fan of power rangers scared me off. If it was Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters From Beverly Hills it would be a day one.

My mom would be thrilled about Tetris DX. She used to steal my GBC and bring it with her when she worked nights & went to cancer treatment in the mornings.

@JSC016 Its a great port and my preferred way to play the remake. The 2 minute run gameplay loop is perfect for handheld play.

Already preloaded on my switch. Can’t wait till thursday.

I picked up peglin & the castlevania collection on tuesday and I’ve been hooked on peglin ever since. Haven’t even started the castlevania collection which I look forward to as I missed out on the ds games back in the day because my health was terrible and I was broke.

Tried a few Satisfye grips but wasn’t a fan. Fixture S2 is the only way I play switch nothing compares as a handheld gamer.

@PJOReilly I’m definitely lucky this year as diamond dynasty was a mess for me last year. It would crash like 50% of the time and my xp gained wouldn’t register.

I’ve been lucky I’ve had zero issues this year. I played diamond dynasty & franchise mode for over 3 hours last night. Last year’s version I had tons of issues.

Looking forward to this. I got a sega saturn in september 96 and a few weeks later this was the first big release on the system so I have fond memories of the first game. I checked out of the series after the 3rd game and never played the expansions.

Biggest factors were definitely Mario Wonder,Price and I feel Sonic fatigue in the last 7 years we’ve had Mania,Mania Plus,Forces,Colors Ultimate,Origins,Frontiers and Superstars. Plus the apple arcade game.The games overall haven’t received glowing reviews so it might be smart to cool it on the sonic games for a bit.
