Pitting its sales against the previous games actually makes it look worse than it is. TTYD actually sold a bunch more despite being in a console with a fraction of the Switch's playerbase. Sure, digital sales are now a thing, but still.
Standalone, 100k+ in a week is pretty good for Japan's standards nowadays.
@Xaessya As weird as Japan's porn can be, the west is definitely way ahead when it comes to furry crap. I'm just surprised this was the case even in the 90s.
Did that guy from the tweet completely forget that the vaulting pole is a thing?
I mean, after making the whole island accessible by walking I do forget sometimes that I could get from A to B more quickly by jumping over a body of water instead of using the bridges, but... Come on.
I'm very interested in this one since I first heard of it. Getting to play the abomination is always a big selling point to me, plus I really like the artstyle on this one. Will probably get it on PC.
@Kalmaro Did the review get edited? I see "PewDiePie is in it" as both a pro and con. The way I see it, the writer's just saying that his presence is both a plus if you're a fan and a negative if you don't care about or dislike the guy.
I got all achievements in the base game (plus other extra stuff), but I still haven't tried out Zangetsu. I should get to that before the Boss Revenge thingy happens a couple weeks from now.
The game's economy will never, ever be back to normal.
The first duping glitch threw it off quite a bit, but since it was a lot more limited (no NMTs, big items, etc.) and they patched it out relatively quickly, the damage was not that extensive.
This, though? Everything but flowers (and to an extent villagers) has lost its value. Which is why I don't bother with online trading anymore, as it's lost its charm.
Batch item crafting would be amazing, especially for those looking to complete those Nook Miles tasks. They both ask for an insane amount of crafted items (furniture or tools) and it takes forever to do them individually. Not to mention how tedious it is to make fish bait, to the point I'd rather just buy it in online communities.
In fact, I have no idea why this isn't a thing already.
@jarvismp Developers do, and are probably interested in the details. Many of whom would probably not get an invitation to some private showcase as you're suggesting, especially with the outbreak currently going on.
No one forces you nor me to watch. I tuned in to the PS5 one, figured I wasn't the target audience and closed the video. It's that simple.
@the_beaver No game is "perfect", so considering 10 a score given to something flawless is kind of nonsensical.
If a game is everything you want it to be and then some, it probably deserves a 10, which I guess is how the NL reviewer and others looked at it. Personally I'll be happy if it feels like an 8 at least, when I get to play it.
Thanks for the interview, always interesting to hear from the people that created Nintendo's legacy. And thanks to Uemura-san for sharing his thoughts.
You have to be a very pitiful individual to waste your time in this world review bombing a game by yourself, but it takes a special kind of patheticness to gloat about it.
@ramu-chan Pedantic is not all you are - you're also wrong. Any game heavily inspired by traditional Japanese RPGs, following its conventions of style, presentation and/or gameplay, is a JRPG. It's a genre, not a reference to origin.

Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Launch Sales Compared To Past Entries (Japan)
@graysoncharles I already did mention digital sales being an extra factor for Origami King. Maybe read more than two lines before replying.

@JR150 People who like FMV games, people who like Internet culture and being meta about it, etc.
Re: Paper Mario Producer Says It's No Longer Possible To Modify Mario Characters
Another reminder of why Miyamoto should leave developers alone. What a way to strangle creativity.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei Is Being Added To Japan's NSO Super Famicom Collection
Yeah, that doesn't make me envious at all. Nope. Not even a bit. Deeefinitely not jealous.

Re: Kirk Scott Leaves Nintendo Of America After Five Years
Kind of noticing a trend of Nindie-related employees leaving. Could just be a coincidence, though.
Re: Random: Poor Old Sakurai Can't Even Reveal What Games He's Playing Anymore
@AggravatedRobber Ah, yes. The good ol' "rich people are immune to constant, unrelenting harassment" idea. Says a lot about you.

Re: Skybound Stamps Out Rumours Of A Fifth Season Of The Walking Dead Video Game
Holy hell people, give Clem a break.
Not a fan of this whole obsession with sequels, even for perfectly wrapped up stories. Let things just run their course.
Re: How Well Do You Know The Legend Of Zelda?
@DockEllisD My bad, you got a fair point then.
Re: How Well Do You Know The Legend Of Zelda?
@DockEllisD Question clearly says "mainline". Link's Crossbow Training is a spin-off game.
Re: How Well Do You Know The Legend Of Zelda?
10/10 here. Could have easily gotten the Tatl/Tael one wrong, though.

C- would have been more fitting. There's not much of a positive spin to catching yet another sea bass.
Re: Gallery: Artist Reimagines Animal Crossing Characters As People
@Shepdawg1 He just looks laid back/chill to me. Easily the best design there imo.
Re: Random: Track Your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Progress With This Fun Bingo Card
That's a rather basic chart. Already did everything in it.
Re: Random: The Official Animal Crossing: New Horizons Guide Puts To Rest One Bit Of Romantic Speculation
CJ tells you as much in his dialogue, as you keep giving him fish to make collectibles. No need to look that up in a guide if you play the game.
People have always pretended their imaginary pairings are a thing, and they always will.

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Has "A Ton Of Respect" For Nintendo, But Is Over Rumours About Select Titles Coming To Switch

Why are you people comparing a presentation clearly aimed at consumers and two aimed, even more obviously, at developers?

Metacritic being shite isn't even relevant to my point. Doesn't make the person any less of a no-life.
