Re: Team Cherry Explains Hollow Knight: Silksong's "Steep Difficulty"

Lightsiyd

@ICISAZEL Hades and Dead Cells are not hard in the way this game is hard. The 'hard' in Hades and Dead Cells is well structured, fun difficulty. The "hard" in Silksong is meaningless artificial difficulty. Emphasis on MEANINGLESS ARTIFICIAL. To condense what I mean as much as possible, both Hades and Dead Cells respect you and your time way more than Silksong does. I'd give Hades and Dead Cells anywhere between a 9/10 and a 9.6/10 This game caps out at 8.4 at best, all for the sake of turning its back on things that could have enriched the experience without watering down the difficulty.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

Too many irritating aspects to this game. The boss fights are fine, but most of the rest is obnoxious. OG Hollow Knight is far more fun than this. I don't see myself replaying this game a single time once I beat it, if it doesn't offer a new game+ option with the chance to carry skills and weapon upgrades over.

Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

@dartmonkey can someone give Damien McFerran a bonus!! The pictures in this article are out of this world!!!! ❤︎♥︎❤︎

I think there's a few very silly elements present when comparing the Switch 2 to the Steam Deck, even it is superior because;

1. Console life cycles are around 7/8 years, PC Handhelds are far shorter. Even when you factor in pricings, iterations of the same PC Handhelds are known to drive down the prices of the previous. The original ASUS ROG ALLY for example, has been driven down by the X iteration.

2. Nintendo has been around for ages, but the PC Handhelds are barely past being old enough to walk.

3. The PC library outlclasses Nintendo in variety, period. There is simply no debating this one.

4. Nintendo will never allow emulation and/or modding (case in point, article published today on the 17k lawsuit), placing it at a permanent disadvantage to those who resent being told what they can or cannot do on something they have paid for.

5. PC handhelds are mini-PCs with all the advantages that come with that simple fact.

There are more, but I'm done for now.
