Re: Metacritic Shares Updated List Of "Every Metroid Game, Ranked"

LazyDaisy

I’d say times are different, and that Prime 1 wouldn’t get a 97 today, but holy crap I didn’t realize the remastered version got a 94. Should I cope further and say that nostalgia carried it? Because I’m shocked Prime 1 gets a 94 today while Prime 4 is on the cusp of 79. I wonder what’s so different about it that the review aggregate has fallen so much? I have to play this for myself and find out.

Re: Video: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Stuns On Switch 2 In This Side-By-Side Comparison

LazyDaisy

The Switch 2 version was never meant to look different. It’s a Legends ZA situation—simply higher framerate and resolution. If Nintendo decides to make a Prime 5, (which they probably won’t) I’d expect them to focus more on graphics next time, and make a 1080p-1440p 60fps or 4K 30fps game.

Truthfully, I’d like to see Retro make something else. Whether they go back to 2D DK, the cancelled platformer, or some other IP, I’m sure they’ll do great.

Re: UK Charts: Kirby Is Nowhere To Be Seen In A Quiet Week

LazyDaisy

@larryisaman I don’t usually click on sales chart articles because they rarely interest me, but I’ve noticed that the UK is obsessed with sports videogames. I remember seeing those games reign supreme over there even during the previous generation. Everyone’s got their cultural tastes, but it’s interesting to see them gobbling up EA’s loot box-infested yearly releases like candy.

Re: Valve's Steam Client Adds Switch 2 Pro Controller Support

LazyDaisy

Once my Pro Controller gives out, I’ll get the Pro 2. I like using it for PC gaming, but I hate that Steam Client doesn’t accurately translate the original button layout. On an Xbox controller, A is A, B is B, X is X and Y is Y. However, on a Switch controller, B is the new A, A is the new B, Y is the new X and X is the new Y. The in-game button prompts are correct, but the layout is flipped from what the devs originally intended, and that irks me so much. B and A I can understand, but there’s no reason to flip X and Y.

Also, I’m confused with the wording of the GameCube compatibility. What is Wii U mode??

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Almost Had Mouse Controls, But It "Confused" The Gameplay

LazyDaisy

Table-top mouse mode has always sounded uncomfortable af to me. You have to play wirh horizontal joycon with buttons on the side instead of on top like an actual mouse or keyboard. And with a game like Resident Evil, I believe the devs when they say that the button layout was too awkward to work. Gyro is perfectly fine.

Also, I fully believe Capcom is sitting on a Leon Kennedy amiibo alongside Grace.

Re: Sony Once Again Takes A Leaf From Nintendo's Playbook In Japan

LazyDaisy

Is the whole point of region-locking it so that overseas people don’t gobble them up for cheap? I know that a Japanese region lock means you can’t use NTSC—U or PAL carts, but surely you can make regional Nintendo accounts, and buy those versions digitally, no?

Also, don’t most games offer language and/or subtitle settings? Unless Japan versions don’t. (EDIT: dmcc0 says that they typically don’t.)

Re: "These Shouldn't Be The Only Games Being Made" - Keiji Inafune Critical Of Reliance On Big IPs

LazyDaisy

I would like to see new a IP from Nintendo that’s not a multiplayer game. 1-2 Switch, ARMS, Snipperclips, Splatoon, and Drag x Drive are new IP, but they’re meant to be played with other people. That Minecraft-like game they’re making will likely also be multiplayer in nature. Whereas the latest single player IP we’ve got from them was Pushmo for 3DS and Ring Fit for Switch. I’d like to see more more new single-player experiences.

Re: Nintendo Releases A Storefront App For Android And iOS

LazyDaisy

@Markiemania95 Thanks for the info. Just as I was about to contact Nintendo Support, I booted up my 3DS and tried inputting a few passwords. Turns out it was MarioSonic1 😂 I now changed my password and email.

On another note, I can’t see any of my Switch play activity, even though the console is linked to my account. Is anyone else having this issue?

Re: Switch 2 Sells Over 10 Million Units, Nintendo Increases Forecast Even Further

LazyDaisy

@UltimateOtaku91 @antlion @OorWullie @electrolite77

I’d just like to see Nintendo get weird this gen and make unique games that can’t be bought off the Switch 1 library. Bananza and Air Riders are exactly that. Age of Imprisonment is on the fence—on one hand you get to experience Zelda’s story from TOTK, but on the other hand it’s the 3rd game in the Hyrule Warriors series, the previous two available on Switch 1. I can’t say anything about Splatoon Raiders till we see more, but it sounds like a unique experience so far. (Mario Kart had a chance to be unique with the open world aspect, but that mode turned out to be half-baked.)

All this is to say that I don’t simply want Odyssey 2, BOTW 3, Mario Maker 3, etc. I want Nintendo to put on majora’s mask and go wild.

Re: Switch 2 Sells Over 10 Million Units, Nintendo Increases Forecast Even Further

LazyDaisy

Actually insane that it has sold 10M with such few 1st party offerings.

I’m not very confident Nintendo will have enough compelling software for 2026. So many of their staple franchises have gotten Switch 2 editions that it makes you wonder when we’ll get true sequels. Like it’s great that Animal Crossing got a sizable update, but does this mean the next one is still a few years away? I hope not. Nintendo is running out of high-profile remaster material too. (TTYD should have been saved for the Switch 2 honestly.)

I just hope Fire Emblem and Gen 10 won’t be the only notable things to look forward from Nintendo.
