@Dee123 They are the most well-known gaming-tech channel, and the ones who did the review are fans of Nintendo, especially John. Criticism does not mean hate. Just because you don’t notice or care enough about their findings doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I can respect the level of awareness that they bring.

@TimothyjFeeley I’ve seen enough gameplay to know that it doesn’t entice me enough to get a Switch 2. Bananza does, but it’s still better to wait for more exclusives to roll in.

@BTB20 yes, I forgot about it. Everything was semi-connected through water. I’d like to see them achieve a similar feat over a large body of land. And more of those giant boss fights please.

@Yoshi3 to my knowledge there is no open world 3D platformer. The closest we’ve gotten to that is open zone with Sonic.

The same problems that plague open world RPGs don’t have to apply to a platformer.

When Mario 64 came out, everyone wondered “how does 3D Mario work?” because all they knew was 2D. Just as Nintendo defined the 3D platforming space, they can define an open world platformer too. If anyone could pull it off, it would be them.

Yes, Bananza looks like it has a lot of effort put into it. I’d rather pay $80 for this game than Mario Kart.

I’m not sure how the next Mario can top DK at this point. DK can break terrain and throw it, move fast and climb any surface. And Mario’s supposed to be the nimble/parkour guy!

He’s gonna need another unique invention like FLUDD to keep up.

@Ogbert I’m glad it’s Pauline and not some rock. Last thing I wanted was another boring 2P character like Mario’s hat or a random Luma.

Auto-accelerate should always be on for races. Who wants to physically perma-hold a button that’s meant to be held down the entire race? It’s just uncomfortable, and makes it hard to go back to older Mario Karts.

Something is very wrong with people whose first thought is to blame the user when Nintendo’s system transfer failed them.

I’m not a fan of Kevin’s voices. His voice(crack)work actively makes me want to play any other character.
I dislike that Nintendo wanted to cheap out by having him voice all 4 “brothers” knowing full well that he doesn’t have the kind of vocal range that Charles did.

I wonder how big of a seller DK Bananza will be. Returns sold 6 million on Wii and Freeze sold 4 million on Switch.

I have a feeling 3D DK may not be as popular …

Hope to see free updates for this game over time. It would be disappointing if they went straight to paid DLC after an $80 price point.

(I know the bundle-ers paid $50, but it’s still an $80 game.)

This reminds me of the times I used to shake my GBA SP while it was red to turn it back to green 😂

I think I can wait till next year to grab the console when more 1st party software has released. A 3D Mario or Smash Bros would grab my attention immediately.
