Re: Fire Emblem Engage Story DLC 'Fell Xenologue' Launches In April

Kynwal

@Axecon You're quite right. I had forgotten about the final Xenoblade DLC as you mentioned. Thanks for the memory jogger. I suppose it will be time to pony up some dollars for it. I was thinking of a 2nd play through with all the people I didn't use the first time. I can just wait for the DLC and do that instead.

Re: Minecraft's Deluxe Collection Is Now Available On The Nintendo Switch

Kynwal

I had sooo many issues getting the Switch version to do cross play with a PC for my daughter to play with her brother and other friends. The game lag etc was fine as it is a Switch after all.

Thankfully, I picked up an Xbox S and it is part of the Game Pass and of course it runs smoother and doesn't have so many issues playing with the PC version.

Re: Persona On Switch - All Games, Where To Start, Beginner's Guide, FAQs

@larryisaman P5 is a definite beast. I played it once with no guide and then a 2nd time with a guide that told me how to get everything I missed the first time. And that was the normal version before they released Royal, which I will pick up on PC when it goes on a good sale so I can have a guide available easily.

Re: Overwatch 2 Reveals Gameplay Footage Of New Tank Hero

So I got the xp boost for $10 on the first BP and now I am working on 'vanity' title number 3 having maxed out the 'rewards'. So this tells me there is no need to pay for the XP boost as I will get there before the end of the season.

It does help I only play Mystery Heroes and which supposedly has a chance to give you Ramtruck (or whoever is locked up) even if he isn't unlocked for other modes.

So for me personally, OW2 is now F2P and very much a 'I will pay if I want but probably not' vs an upfront investment of more (I played OW1 and bought a couple chest packs to try and get skins before) of $50+ so that makes their new model a win for me.

Re: Overwatch 2 Wants To Know What Players Think About Its Battle Pass, Store & Microtransactions

Kynwal

As far as a system for OW 1.5 (it doesn't feel like it deserves a 2) it is...okay? On one hand, yay I can pay nothing to play it when I want and not even have to drop $40 for it etc.
I do have to say I did prefer the loot boxes from OW1. I dropped $10 for the 20% boost and just hit rank 61. With rank 60 being as far as I really cared to go for the Pharah skin anyway.
I will probably never pay for it again to be honest. I always do Mystery Heroes, so it isn't like I 'main' anyone and can always see their skin etc. And since I played OW1 for quite awhile, I have lots of skins already I never use/see.

Also $25 for an event skin like Kiriko? Wild stuff.

Re: Review: Overwatch 2 - Solid F2P Shooting That Doesn't Yet Justify The '2'

Kynwal

I play it on PC right now - I also played OW1 so I have all the prior heroes unlocked. OW has too many people to really get a lock on for me. So as stated above - I am only playing my few usual roster. It definitely feels more like OW 1.5 then any generational leap. FTP and cross play just means I may let me son try it.
As for the battle pass - you can get the fast track for $10 (US) if something catches your eye. OW had the issue of buying coins to either buy skins/loot boxes and hope that loot box gave you what you wanted.
I have to imagine the legal issues with loot boxes also helped as an issue to lead them to the new 'freemium' model.

Re: Review: PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ - A Gaming Legend's Best Collection Yet

Kynwal

@farrgazer I got on the Xbox Gamepass and I was thinking my controller was messed up or I was really really out of practice. I noticed I was missing turns on the OG Pac Man quite a bit. So take that for what it is worth.

Edit: There are a lot of posts on the internet about input lag on Switch and Xbox depending on which game you play etc.

Re: April NPD: Switch Has Overtaken PS4 Sales In The US

Kynwal

@Ristar24 That was my thinking on picking up an Xbox S and very awesome gamepass. After paying the same price as a 2nd Switch and for my $15 I can play nextgen stuff while I wait on a my funds to afford (and maybe even a revision of the PS5).

Re: New Details For Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Battle System Revealed

Kynwal

@Lyricana I will first ask forgiveness for everyone who remembers all the game details from a game that released in 2018 since I didn't do my due diligence and research the internet before I posted. haha.
And my comment was "had no time to relearn the systems etc." A better way to say it would have been by the time that this DLC was released - (almost 1 year later). I had already moved past playing XC2 (I got it on release and still never manged to get 100% of the blades) after I put in over a hundred hours in to the original game. And didn't feel like devoting additional time to learn the new reworked systems to get the additional back story/history for a main character I didn't really care about, Jin/Lora.

Re: New Details For Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Battle System Revealed

Kynwal

I enjoyed the blade collection aspect of XC2 so a shame to see that going away. I played through 1 after 2. If they announce DLC (why wouldn't they?) I may have to wait to buy it. The Torna DLC for 2 came out so late I had forgotten how to play, had no time to relearn the systems etc. that I never finished it.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Ever A Good Idea To Start At 'The Beginning' Of Series Like Zelda Or Dragon Quest?

Kynwal

As a gamer who can almost join AARP I am definitely not going to go back to the warchest for many old games. "Mod-Con" is important for me. I have never played any of the old DQ until the most recent one on Switch which I loved. I have no urge to go back anywhere in time before it. Obviously this will be a personal question for the party involved. Some people absolutely have to play every title in order or play a game to 100% etc.
