Blizzard was never going to pull that off to any level of acceptability anyway. Also - with all the 'staffing' issues they are having it is zero surprise.
Got a physical copy for my son. I have barely played the first one more than a couple hours I think. So perhaps I will try it again while he binges on the new one.
I remember the exact moment when I held and played a friends Donkey Kong Dual Screen when it was brand new in 1982. I acquired a working model a few years ago and it still hits me with all the feels.
I remember showing Wii Sports to my Dad on a visit. He got his own Wii and was the hit of the senior activity center there for a good while by bringing it with him.
@Axecon You're quite right. I had forgotten about the final Xenoblade DLC as you mentioned. Thanks for the memory jogger. I suppose it will be time to pony up some dollars for it. I was thinking of a 2nd play through with all the people I didn't use the first time. I can just wait for the DLC and do that instead.
I gave up on the Switch version for my daughter after the consistent issues trying to get it synced up to play with her brother on the Bedrock PC version. I still have some issues with the Xbox version but definitely smoother over all.
I liked Three Houses overall more and the emblem thing is okay. I tend to forget to use them a lot. I wish they had master classes still. Some of the 'class change looks are not too exciting'. I do really like the combat animations.
Got it to play with my 6yr old daughter - we were doing fine until the first 'extra animal' task and that is where her patience quickly ran out and we stopped playing for now. Great looking game.
I had sooo many issues getting the Switch version to do cross play with a PC for my daughter to play with her brother and other friends. The game lag etc was fine as it is a Switch after all.
Thankfully, I picked up an Xbox S and it is part of the Game Pass and of course it runs smoother and doesn't have so many issues playing with the PC version.
@larryisaman P5 is a definite beast. I played it once with no guide and then a 2nd time with a guide that told me how to get everything I missed the first time. And that was the normal version before they released Royal, which I will pick up on PC when it goes on a good sale so I can have a guide available easily.
I hope they will re-master/re-release Wind Waker on a modern console so my kids and I can play it (again for me). I have a WiiU but hauling it out of storage for one game is not a bridge I am willing to cross...yet.
I own a Switch and have looked at the Steam Deck. But for my library purposes, a lot of my games aren't compatible that I would probably want to play. I think I will wait for Steam Deck V2.0 before picking one up.
I need Toon Link to come to Switch so I can buy the game again and play without having to dig my WiiU out of storage since I don't have room to display it/have it hooked up all the time.
I played this one first and dropped sooo many hours into it - I never managed to get all of the 'gacha' I'm missing like 2. My favorite of the XC so far. I am waiting to get the new one when I get myself an OLED Switch and pass my 1st gen to my kids officially.
So I got the xp boost for $10 on the first BP and now I am working on 'vanity' title number 3 having maxed out the 'rewards'. So this tells me there is no need to pay for the XP boost as I will get there before the end of the season.
It does help I only play Mystery Heroes and which supposedly has a chance to give you Ramtruck (or whoever is locked up) even if he isn't unlocked for other modes.
So for me personally, OW2 is now F2P and very much a 'I will pay if I want but probably not' vs an upfront investment of more (I played OW1 and bought a couple chest packs to try and get skins before) of $50+ so that makes their new model a win for me.
I had the E.T. game and while irritating I managed to finish it anyway. Getting out of the damn pits were the hardest part. It was not really much worse than the Raiders of the Lost Ark game. Haha.
As far as a system for OW 1.5 (it doesn't feel like it deserves a 2) it is...okay? On one hand, yay I can pay nothing to play it when I want and not even have to drop $40 for it etc. I do have to say I did prefer the loot boxes from OW1. I dropped $10 for the 20% boost and just hit rank 61. With rank 60 being as far as I really cared to go for the Pharah skin anyway. I will probably never pay for it again to be honest. I always do Mystery Heroes, so it isn't like I 'main' anyone and can always see their skin etc. And since I played OW1 for quite awhile, I have lots of skins already I never use/see.
Also $25 for an event skin like Kiriko? Wild stuff.
So having not even started the game - that didn't feel spoilerish to me at all. Considering I don't even know what it looked like prior or who the people mentioned are.
I play it on PC right now - I also played OW1 so I have all the prior heroes unlocked. OW has too many people to really get a lock on for me. So as stated above - I am only playing my few usual roster. It definitely feels more like OW 1.5 then any generational leap. FTP and cross play just means I may let me son try it. As for the battle pass - you can get the fast track for $10 (US) if something catches your eye. OW had the issue of buying coins to either buy skins/loot boxes and hope that loot box gave you what you wanted. I have to imagine the legal issues with loot boxes also helped as an issue to lead them to the new 'freemium' model.
@EarthboundBenjy I fall into the subset of fans (that own the game) who didn't even know the game HAD dragons to begin with. Plus all the other stuff in the article.
@NESlover85 I got it for my Switch first and as said above - vanilla Minecraft works pretty well. I had so many issues trying to get it to play cross platform (my son plays on a PC) that I just got it again on an XboX S under Gamepass.
No special edition for me. I will pick up the game when I pick up an Oled Switch finally around the end of the year. I already played it on PS4 and it is also coming to Xbox S GamePass. I will pick it up to support them for finally doing it.
I loved XB2 which was my first entry and then played XB1 and found it alright. I will be waiting until I get an OLED Switch to pick this up but it will be one of my first game purchases for that system as I give my old 1st gen to my kids.
looks like a good plan to me. I have kids who already cracked a screen on one (still works fine). $15 a year to cover repairs on everything part of it would be a deal.
Nice. I have p5 on the PS, I was holding off on picking up Royal. If it runs decently on Switch I will pick up Royal there (I have the other 2 on their respective systems).
I like the idea of it, but I can't afford the price right now. And while as said above - you 'could' do it yourself. My result would not look anywhere near as display worthy.
@farrgazer I got on the Xbox Gamepass and I was thinking my controller was messed up or I was really really out of practice. I noticed I was missing turns on the OG Pac Man quite a bit. So take that for what it is worth.
Edit: There are a lot of posts on the internet about input lag on Switch and Xbox depending on which game you play etc.
@Ristar24 That was my thinking on picking up an Xbox S and very awesome gamepass. After paying the same price as a 2nd Switch and for my $15 I can play nextgen stuff while I wait on a my funds to afford (and maybe even a revision of the PS5).
@Lyricana I will first ask forgiveness for everyone who remembers all the game details from a game that released in 2018 since I didn't do my due diligence and research the internet before I posted. haha. And my comment was "had no time to relearn the systems etc." A better way to say it would have been by the time that this DLC was released - (almost 1 year later). I had already moved past playing XC2 (I got it on release and still never manged to get 100% of the blades) after I put in over a hundred hours in to the original game. And didn't feel like devoting additional time to learn the new reworked systems to get the additional back story/history for a main character I didn't really care about, Jin/Lora.
I enjoyed the blade collection aspect of XC2 so a shame to see that going away. I played through 1 after 2. If they announce DLC (why wouldn't they?) I may have to wait to buy it. The Torna DLC for 2 came out so late I had forgotten how to play, had no time to relearn the systems etc. that I never finished it.
As a gamer who can almost join AARP I am definitely not going to go back to the warchest for many old games. "Mod-Con" is important for me. I have never played any of the old DQ until the most recent one on Switch which I loved. I have no urge to go back anywhere in time before it. Obviously this will be a personal question for the party involved. Some people absolutely have to play every title in order or play a game to 100% etc.
I have a ginormous steam library. I will likely pick one up down the road. Let them get some stuff tweaked etc. I have 2 kids under 10 and portability is sometimes my only way to game.

Blargh. I don't really want the other parts of the pass, but that part looks great. Is it worth $30 by itself is the question.
