I will have two - I am trying to wait for more of an update than a 'battery' boost. But my son cracked the screen of my current one in two places - still works thankfully. I am trying to hold out.
My 6yr old played the poo out of Odyssey - even beating it himself a couple times (he loves to delete his save file and start over). I have this on my mothballed Wii U but I have it pre-ordered to play with him on the Switch.
I would have preferred just a crash for the highest points like older versions but I got this on the sale recently and my 7yr old son loves it. He just drives around and tries to crash with every car he sees. Nice port job for the Switch.
I can vividly still remember playing the Dual Screen Donkey Kong for the first time when it came out. I think I also had Octopus...if only I still had it....
@Kang81 Correct. I like the world of BoTW etc. I have a strong dislike for the weapon breaking system. Strong enough to ruin any desire to play it very far. I hope BoTW 2 has a change that to system. Good to hear Immortals could be a good game - I hope the Switch version is good, although I am not limited in my choices to only that.
@Trikeboy Yep. Not my cup of tea. I hated the annoying mechanic of every weapon breaking. So how was your job as a game counselor when they were available? Since you are obviously an expert at games.
Hrm. I was thinking it would include all DLC when it came to the Switch. Bummer. I will wait for a possible ultra deluxe Akashi complete edition before considering it. In the meantime I will play it on my phone.
I look forward to my 6yr old asking me about such and such Pokemon being obtainable and telling him, sorry son, that is only in the other version of the game and we are not buying it for you to catch that one.
I am somewhat torn over it having a rechargeable battery. I would prefer to have the old school button batteries. But I will still try and get 2 - one to store and one to play.
I have the dual screen Donkey Kong G&W. I can still vividly remember the first time I played a friends system when they were brand new in the very early eighties. I had Octopus at one time (wish I still did).
@NotoriousWhiz Yeah that has been a thought. I am trying to get him used to using his own profile on my machine. But it may not be for a couple years before I get him one (watching him bonk the Ipad around is painful enough) and if Nintendo ever makes a 'pro' version he can have my old system. haha.
I will get it as a digital so my 5yr old can play it without having to ask me to change the cartridges every time he wants to play from a different game.
I am just now finishing up Trials of Mana for the first time (one elemental boss and then the big bad to go). I had already finished DQXI and I was surprised how much DQXI used similar game play things that are in Trials of Mana. It almost felt like I was playing DQXI at times. Still good though.
Come on, I know of Dexy's Midnight Runners - well, the one song they had that was a hit. And the video where the band member disappeared halfway through as he was fired. Haha. I ordered a digital copy only because my 5yr old has game card swap-itis. And I didn't feel like having to pull out the card and then remember to replace it after I let him have a gaming session.
As a parent to a 4yr and 2yr old and an Uncle to a 6yr old - of which their dad asked me 2DS or Switch? - I am very well aware of the 2DS and glad it exists. I am not giving my 4yr old a switch (he doesn't even get to touch my switch unless to play Mario Kart on the TV). This commercial is aimed at parents with kids who are either too young to trust a $300 device with or on a budget.
@justin233 They did away with it?...it still works for me in the US. I save about $20 depending on the price of course before taxes. As an example, I have pre-ordered the physical copy of Owlboy which is $29.99 but with the discount it is $23.99.
@KIRO I think you are thinking of the old Choplifter game (or any of the sequels). It was a side scroller with an opposing base and you could drop and pick up people.

Re: Hands On: Immortals: Fenyx Rising Could Be The Switch Adventure You Need This Holiday
Do weapons break? That is still why I have yet to beat BoTW. I found the weapon breaking so irritating I keep putting the game back in the mothballs.
Re: Where To Pre-Order Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.
@flummerfelt I was just wondering about that...good thing I had a notify me set up. Which didn't bother to do anything.
