I need to start playing MK8D again. It got kinda brushed aside by games like Splatoon 2 and various PS4 games, but I want to get back into it.

@dkxcalibur I'm incredibly hyped for that day for both of those reasons as well. No better combo than a new 3D Mario and a new season of Stranger Things.

I don't understand how Wildlands sold so well.

I like the pace of the headline format, but what I don't like is how you can see all the announcements before they actually happen. Kinda "spoils" it, in a way.

As for the Direct, it was pretty good for what it was. It was never gonna be a giant reveal party or anything. Not sure what some people were expecting.

@MattFox Nope. I've been avoiding everything about Odyssey since the initial reveal trailer.

I find it kinda weird that some people still aren't convinced that the Switch is a success. How long do these numbers need to continue before it becomes obvious?

Not a good sign IMO. I don't think they're going to get anywhere close to making 600 memorable moons. They're probably gonna be Korok seeds 2.0. I think the game is gonna suffer pretty badly for this, unless they've been brainstorming on moon ideas for years.

I guess this is Nintendo trying to make every game be playable in bite-sized chunks for those portable players out there.

Not sure what people were expecting. The big reveals will always be in the January Direct and at E3. Everywhere else, there will usually only be 1 or 2, if that. And considering that, I think the Direct was pretty darn good.

The original Teen Titans was great. They need to bring it back in some form. (Teen Titans Go doesn't count)

@Therad Even so, I would think they could hire somebody who actually knows how to make an app that's halfway functional.

At least they're trying. It baffles me that a company as large as Nintendo could let such an unfinished app be released, though.

Great game. Potentially my favorite game ever.

@Spoony_Tech Not really a big indie guy unfortunately, but people who like them will definitely have the lion's share on the Switch.

The Switch is probably my favorite console of all time, at least in terms of its hardware. All it needs now is more games.

I'm excited, but I'm bummed that they're showing more of Odyssey. Gonna have to bail from the Direct when that portion shows up.

Somehow I doubt a little cutesy game that's basically Pokemon is a great "tutorial" for one of the most hardcore series out there.

The Switch is great. It has its flaws, but it was well worth the money. Glad to be the owner of a Nintendo console again, after skipping the Wii U.

I wish I liked JRPGs. Really don't enjoy most of them.

@Joytendo22 They're two completely different games from two completely different genres. They just happen to be in the same setting.

@BlueOcean No Paper Mario has ever matched the glory of TTYD, especially not recent ones.

Telltale has gone downhill lately. What happened to the glory days, when we got games like The Walking Dead Season 1 and The Wolf Among Us?

@CreamyDream My 7 year old self could breeze through the levels more easily than most of the people critiquing this game ever could, lol.

The camera was finicky at times, but come on, this is a game that came out in 2002 for crying out loud. Cut it some slack. Everything about it holds up incredibly well.

@blowback1976 That's a great idea. Plus, it would be so fitting if they gave it the Inkjet special.

@OrigamiSquirtle It is a toy. It just happens to be one that people of any age can play with without feeling stupid/juvenile.

Really, any object that can be used for pure entertainment is a toy, whether they're advanced pieces of technology or a plastic ball.

Sounds like a lot of you, especially the person who wrote the article, are just bad at the game. I never had any such problems with the controls, and it remains one of my favorite games of all time.

I'm sure it's not as polished as Odyssey, but I still never thought to myself that the controls sucked, and especially not to the point where I would call it a "very bad game".

@SLIGEACH_EIRE The problem isn't the ports. Ports can only benefit a system. The problem is the lack of new third party games, particularly AAA ones. That kinda comes with the territory on Nintendo systems, though.

@nab1 There are millions of people playing the game. I don't think there's much chance of the playerbase splitting being a big issue.

@nab1 I read it. He didn't give a real reason at all. He basically just said "It's like this because that's how we want it. If you don't like it, suck it up, because this is just how it is because reasons. You might think you want to play whatever you want whenever you want, but you really don't. We know better, you cute naive little children."

So basically, it can all be summed up as "Just because".

Whoever took that screenshot is a monster if they've played Troll and I more recently than Mario + Rabbids.

I thought I wasted my money when I bought a 64 GB card, but I guess I didn't.

Too bad it got arguably the worst special in the game.

The sad thing is, some people out there actually think this means the Switch is on the path to becoming the Wii U 2.0.

I wish more developers would do this.

This game would be forgivable if it wasn't almost full priced. Who in their right mind would buy this, instead of coughing up just a few extra dollars and buying something that actually pulls this style of game off well, AKA The Last Guardian?

This year has been pretty darn great, but I don't know if I'd call this era as a whole "golden". The PS4 has only really been picking up steam in the past 2 or 3 years, and the Wii U was IMO the worst Nintendo console ever in terms of its library.

However, if next year and the following years are as good as this year has been, then I'd say it's a golden era for sure.

Why on Earth is Wildlands at number one?

@retro_player_22 It's mostly only the PC master race crowd who really cares about 4K, and they already had PCs that could play games in 4K before the PS4 Pro was even a thing.

4K is nice, don't get me wrong, but I'm certainly not buying a 600+ dollar TV and a brand new console just for better resolution, especially not when I already own the Slim iteration of that console. Once I need a new TV, I'll certainly buy a 4K one (or 8K, if that's a thing by the time I need a new one), but for now, I'm more than happy with 1080p.

Not sure why anyone would even be playing this in the first place.

It's alright. Still haven't bought anything though, and I don't see that changing for a long time.

This game has been completely ignored for me ever since Splatoon 2 came out. Maybe once my addiction to Splatoon 2 lessens, I'll be able to get back into this game, lol.
