Adventure game Syberia arrives on the Nintendo Switch on October 20th, it has been revealed.
Created by Benoit Sokai, the game places you in the shows of Kate Walker, who travels to the French village of Valadilène to enter negotiations for the purchase of an automaton factory, but soon finds herself embroiled in a world of mystery and suspense.
The Switch version is playable in handheld or docked mode, and is the first of three titles, all of which are planned for release on Nintendo's console.

Can't say I've heard of it, but it looks kinda cool.
Yay! Port 1 of 3.
Bleh. More filler junky.
Looks nice but I don't think we got a look at the gameplay in the video, just sequences inbetween. I'm thinking maybe, but honestly with so much else coming out next month through the end of the year, not sure I'll have the time.
No gameplay in the trailer to hide how shoddy the port is, can already see in the eShop that the image is stretched to fill the aspect ratio.
@Samus7Killer You know nothing, Jon Snow. Sorry, Samus7Killer.
I'm going to wait for the double pack of the first two they already announced. Should be reviews up by then.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE You do realize ports are a good thing, right? More games are a good thing.
It may be old, but this is still a great game, and more or less a must-have for fans of the genre. Being able to take it with you on the go, is a definite bonus as well.
@Ralizah Recent ports, perhaps. But this game is 15 years old.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE welcome to gaming 2017. I can't tell you how many times I would check the games store on the Xbox One and just ve presented with a dozen new ports from last generation.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE A 15 year old game, but the third game just released this year. So re-releasing the older games in anticipation of the newest one makes a lot of sense.
Anyway, more games are good. Even if it was just the first Syberia and nothing else that we were getting, it'd still add a decent game to the Switch's library.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE you prefer the actually abridged DS version? Or playing an adventure game at 1 session/month average pace on PC? I know I prefer neither.
"But this game is 15 years old."
Which is why Nintendo should screw such old ports and focus on the righteously demanded VC... wait.
So I didn't notice any gameplay. Is it like the old point and click adventures of old i.e. Must, Monkey Island, or Grim Fandango? If so then I'm game😁
@Elanczewski at least i dont bend the knee like you do to these nindies.
This is basically a port of the Android version, with what looks like a stretched aspect ratio to fit modern TV's. it's going to be a lazy port. I suppose you should be grateful it's not the most recent game in the series, as that was trash.
@ballistic90 Xbox One is more surprising since they do have backward compatibility. PS4, on the other hand, ended up unable to have too many last-gen ports. And considering the portability factor, same goes for Switch tenfold.
Its on my list...been wanting to play this for a while..but I can't get it at launch...my switch backlog is big enough as is.
Looks like a retail version is coming- I didn't know that! Kudos to Microids!
@NESlover85 Yes its a point and click like Monkey Island.
It was released on all kinds of Systems over the years/decades, so why not a switch version.
Wonder how expensive the retail version will be.
@Samus7Killer Syberia is not an indie game, so I only bend my knee to Benoit Sokal.
@NESlover85 Yep, this is point and click game in old style.
I'm really glad all three Syberia games are coming to the Switch, i love point 'n' click adventure games, they're a perfect fit for the console too with its motion controls, i'd love Zack & Wiki and all of the Sam & Max games to get ported too !
Love this genre. Day one for me.
@Toadie agreed. This comment is a breath of fresh air after all the whinging posts above.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The problem isn't the ports. Ports can only benefit a system. The problem is the lack of new third party games, particularly AAA ones. That kinda comes with the territory on Nintendo systems, though.
I love playing point and click adventures lying down, preferably in bed like I would read a book. So the Switch does the job here.
Disappointed though they didn't do a physical trilogy, or at least the first 2 titles. May buy but not at launch price (depending on what that is).
Still hoping for joycons pointer controls, like World of Goo.
@FX102A Me too, but everything I've read suggests the first is far superior... However it's also the only one I've played, though s long time ago. Not likely to buy the others separate either, so it really is a disservice to dole them out like this.
I have never play this. Is it any good?
I'm intrigued. I always like story-heavy games, so if the narrative is interesting (that's the vibe I always got from this series), and the gameplay is at least passable, I'm game! Especially at the right price! More story-focused games will always be welcome in my eyes.
Played the first 2 on Android and they were really really nice-well worth the money. But I dont want to start all over with huge timegaps. So Ill wait for a Bundle or something.
@Wichtel Awesome! Now if the price is right...
what is this game? seen the trailer afew times now and still have no idea what you do. what kind of gameplay is it?
@thewoosp
Its a point and click adventure game. You go around solving puzzle/mysteries that go with pushing the story forward. The original 2 games were really well done and deservedly received a lot of positive reviews. They are around 15 years old now so don't expect anything cutting edge. Enjoyment is all dependent upon how well a person likes the point and click genre (pre-telltale esque choice system)
Was hoping for the all 3 games on one cart, bit of a shame.
I watched gameplay videos on the pic version. I will pass on this.
While the games are old af, i enjoyed them back in the day. I just wish they gave us them all in a pack or something, i hope they don't expect us to pay 30-40 for these games seperatly.
