Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Dragon Quest III (NES)

How can so many here call the US one generic? Please point me to any other cover that's even similar. Featuring a pile of items? That's bold, and I love it.
Also, to me, the JP one is the actual generic cover. Just another case of Anime characters lined up. On top, the framing is terrible. Why limit the art's real estate that much? That's a sin usually commited by Western covers. Lastly, I am sorry, but I never liked the Toriyama style. It's nearly as bad as the One Piece style. Look, I've enjoyed manga/anime for >25 years now, but Toriyama's drawings simply aren't nice to look at. I liked OG Dragonball not for its drawings, but despite them. I guess Toriyama was good at telling stories.

Quite surprised by the result. Just zoom in on Firebrand‘s face on the JP cover. That looks terrible. Not in a scary demonic way, but just derpy.
Whereas on the EU/US cover, Firebrand looks like Western demon depictions of yore, which is way cool.
Also, the JP cover is just…barren. It has nice ideas, but overall is just middling.

Re: Feature: "We Wouldn’t Give The Silent Hill IP To A Team Like Yours" - Dementium: The Ward's Origins And Switch Return

KeeperBvK

@Moistnado You are completely ignoring the point: Jools and his team (if he has any) were not involved in converting Dementium 2 to the the PC. For them, it’s a first time.
And the port also does not work well as an example to learn from, because it’s a bad port. So it makes sense that „this guy“ had to think about how to bring Dementium to a single screen.

@TheMegaMarshtomp „it all felt empty and meaningless“
Funnily enough, that’s exactly how I felt about BotW.
I am happy for all the people enjoying that game, but I think I will never be able to see the appeal.
Interesting to see rather many people here now apparently felling about TotK the way I already did about BotW.

Re: Keiji Inafune Is The Producer Of Level-5's New Fantasy Life Game On Switch

Insfune stills owes me a key for Mighty No 9.
I backed it on KS and chose the 3DS version…which never materialized. They didn’t even have the dignity to officially cancel it. Just radio silence.
They should at least then have sent me a key for the Steam version or let me choose again.
And of course I am not the only one. Anybody who chose the 3DS version is in the same boat.
Really shady behavior on Inafune‘s behalf.

Re: SEGA & Tencent Have Also Decided To Skip This Year's E3

KeeperBvK

@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed Definitely not. I attended E3 2005 and the Nintendo press conference myself as a member of the media, and I have been following the E3 closely before and after. Definitely, back then, the exhibition itself and the publisher shows were not open to the public. If anything, it got more open in years after.
At the exhibition itself, you could also see e.g. Gamestop clerks or other people from the industry, but at the publishers' press conferences (as they were called), you would obviously only get in as a member of the press. And they would even limit the people per medium. We were three guys travelling to LA from Germany, but we could only get 2 tickets for the Nintendo show.
