Re: Feature: Game Boy Color - A Quarter Century Of Colour Nintendo Handhelds

It‘s it’s own platform, as it has games playable only in it.
Problem is it was never a good platform. I had the original GB since 1990, loved it, but then never felt compelled to get the GBC because pretty much all good games were also playable on my Pocket. The GBC severely lacked worthwhile exclusives. I couldn’t care less for Nintendo‘s slight DX updates of the time.
The GBA was magical then. Having an F-Zero on the go at launch? Incredible.

How can so many here call the US one generic? Please point me to any other cover that's even similar. Featuring a pile of items? That's bold, and I love it.
Also, to me, the JP one is the actual generic cover. Just another case of Anime characters lined up. On top, the framing is terrible. Why limit the art's real estate that much? That's a sin usually commited by Western covers. Lastly, I am sorry, but I never liked the Toriyama style. It's nearly as bad as the One Piece style. Look, I've enjoyed manga/anime for >25 years now, but Toriyama's drawings simply aren't nice to look at. I liked OG Dragonball not for its drawings, but despite them. I guess Toriyama was good at telling stories.

Quite surprised by the result. Just zoom in on Firebrand‘s face on the JP cover. That looks terrible. Not in a scary demonic way, but just derpy.
Whereas on the EU/US cover, Firebrand looks like Western demon depictions of yore, which is way cool.
Also, the JP cover is just…barren. It has nice ideas, but overall is just middling.

Re: Feature: "We Wouldn’t Give The Silent Hill IP To A Team Like Yours" - Dementium: The Ward's Origins And Switch Return

@Moistnado You are completely ignoring the point: Jools and his team (if he has any) were not involved in converting Dementium 2 to the the PC. For them, it’s a first time.
And the port also does not work well as an example to learn from, because it’s a bad port. So it makes sense that „this guy“ had to think about how to bring Dementium to a single screen.

@TheMegaMarshtomp „it all felt empty and meaningless“
Funnily enough, that’s exactly how I felt about BotW.
I am happy for all the people enjoying that game, but I think I will never be able to see the appeal.
Interesting to see rather many people here now apparently felling about TotK the way I already did about BotW.
