Re: Feature: Rare's Local Game Shop Faces An Uncertain Future, Like Many Indie Retailers

KeeperBvK

@Razer What are you even trying to tell me? Your post consists of three separate points without rhyme or rhythm and I fail to see any "rose tinted glasses" in my post that merely stated that Amazon needs to die. I'd be wearing rose tinted glasses if I'd be gushing about how great something used to be. Instead, I am criticizing a company. Also, (to quote you) "think": You are trying to argue that necessarily a bigger company has to come and kill it off? No, we just need to stop buying there. That is all it takes. Also, "think": You are arguing that in the beginning only bigger shops existed before the smaller indie shops came around? But you just said only bigger shops can follow up on smaller shops. Already killing off your own argumentation within seconds. Also, "think": There were bigger shops before indie shops? So. What is your point? They are/were still better than amazon. So what is your point considering I am criticizing amazon? Also, "think": Amazon fills a need for people? So do other things. Colonizing filled a need for people. Killing fills a need for some people. Sure, these are over-the-top examples, but the point remains: Just because something improves one person's life, it doesn't warrant its bad effects. People buying on amazon are just selfish. Also, if you need to buy online, it doesn't have to be at amazon. This isn't a discussion "online vs brick and mortar". It's a discussion "amazon vs non-amazon".

@Yas From your reply I'd assume you to be quite a lot younger than I am. Your point is merely that amazon makes your life more comfortable? Wow. Amazon is an evil company exploiting both book publishing houses and their own employees. So I gladly buy my stuff on a trip to the city, never buying from them. There is more to this world than you saving a few minutes at other people's cost.

@Eigotaku
"winning his damsels heart" Damsel's
"If a team mate is knocked out, you are able to bring them back" A team mate, but bring THEM back? Bad grammar.
"come in to play" Come INTO play. Your neighbor can come IN TO play.
"more advanced moves such a catching" Such as.
"in the games multiplayer modes" Game's.
"its best to snap the Joy-Con off" It's.
"whomever you're team mate is" Even two mistakes in one! It's WHOEVER here, not whomever, and it's YOUR.
"a la bomb karts" It's à la.
"trying to deplete your opponents beach ball" Opponent's or opponents'.
"allows you to lib rivals crates" Rival crates or the rival's crates or the rivals' crates. You've got three possibilities, yet go for a wrong one.
"but its perfectly possible" It's.
"It's accessible yet deceptively deep twin stick-based mechanics" And now ITS. Are you doing this on purpose?
"Striking a great balance between cooperative and competitive play styles, It's combination of charming presentation and witty retro humour are sure" What the? Why is there a comma right in the sentence? And why is the I in It's capital? And why is it ITS instead of IT'S again?! You're finishing off the review with three mistakes combined into one.
Why doesn't anybody proofread these things?

Re: Retro-Bit Announces R-Type Returns For Super Nintendo

KeeperBvK

@impurekind If anything, Nintendo showed foresight by not including such. Why would Nintendo significantly raise the production cost of every single unit for a feature that only a fraction of buyers would make use of? Doesn't make any sense at all.
Implementing a cartridge slot has nothing to do with a good business decision. It is just about you wanting something for yourself.

Re: Feature: Chatting to 10tons About Its Prolific First Year on the Switch eShop

KeeperBvK

"even for me it's kind of mystifying, yet kind of relatable, how a game like Neon Chrome is rated 95% positive in Steam based on 281 user reviews, yet its Switch Metacritic average is 67"

If this is "mystifying" to the guy, and he is responsible for PR and marketing, then he simply can't be good at his job. Sorry.
"95% positive reviews on Steam" doesn't say anything about how highly any of those users would rate the game, except for a majority apparently awarding it >50%. I highly doubt ANYBODY would rate ANY of their games a 95%. So probably most of those reviews are somewhere around 50%-70%. So, there you go, Jaako. Not exactly rocket science.

Re: Review: Poly Bridge (Switch eShop)

KeeperBvK

"Poly Bridge is bridge building simulator with a lot of charm"

Four words into the first sentence and it's already clear this guy doesn't proofread his article.

Also, this is $15?! It appears to do absolutely nothing to differentiate itself from dozens of games that had the exact same premise and structure and still gets an 8, which translates to "very good"? Holy moly.

Re: Review: ACORN Tactics (Switch eShop)

KeeperBvK

Can anyone please tell me what this sentence in the review is supposed to mean:
"The artillery is pretty stock standard, from close-ranged shotguns to distance shooting snipers and everything in between."

It sounds as if the reviewer believes "artillery" to just be synonymous with "weapons" which would be rather ridiculous. He appears to be thinking of "shotguns" as a subcategory of "artillery", which, again, would be hilarious.

Re: Review: L.A. Noire (Switch)

KeeperBvK

@Spoony_Tech What I was getting at is that in comment #26 you had written this:
"I would liken it more to a gritty detective movie or tv show set in the 1040's then anything close to Ace Attorney."

It was a typo there (you wrote 1040's instead of 1940's) and I instantly visualised a "gritty detective show" in said 1040's, which would be just awesome to have.

Re: Review: Revenant Saga (Switch eShop)

KeeperBvK

@BulbasaurusRex I had contacted the staff the other day in this subject and from their reply it seems like they are pretty much through with reviewing each and every eshop game due to the massive Switch release lists as of recent combined with a lack of staff.
Too bad, as that is basically what made nlife stand out to me and apparently to others as well.
Still waiting on a review of that last Kunio-kun game for example...

Re: Review: The Jackbox Party Pack 4 (Switch eShop)

@Eigotaku

So...on one hand you call yourself part of "older folk like this reviewer", only to start your review with something as bollucks as
"Ever since the first 'You Don't Know Jack' game arrived on PC in 2011"?

YDKJ started way back in 1995. In 2011 it only came back after something of a hiatus.
