sigh "A vertically-scrolling shooter with 3D visuals and a heavy metal soundtrack, FullBlast calls to mind the likes of Raiden, Battle Garegga and DoDonPachi."
Really? None of those games has 3D visuals and from the trailer this game looks nothing like either of those three games. It reminds me more of Nanostray for example. Whenever a shmup appears, people will compare it to just ANY other game of the same genre. Why is that? People would never compare a 2D platformer to Mario, Sonic and Bonk at the same time, but here we are, comparing a badly-looking shmup to Raiden, Battle Garegga and DoDonPachi. Also neither of these three games is even comparable to any of the other two, let alone to this "Fullblast" thing.
@Supermak99 And 100 Floors rips off dozens of earlier Room Escape games that had already been around since the early 2000s. It's a whole genre. I'd hardly say any of those rip off another game more so than others do.
People in NA keep complaining how they "always get the shorter end of the stick" when it comes to VC, but then again they get a Mario Kart more than 5 months before we do. And that's just one of many examples.
@Sean_Aaron Because they allow us to immediately see how different opinions can be? Yeah, definitely "crap"... These different scores merely summarize and represent the existence of differing opinions. What's crap about that, exactly?
@TossedLlama Well, I would hope for it to play like the N64-Castlevanias. They were amazing games and well liked back in the days. Too bad the AVGN can change all that with some blatant lies about a game and half the internet jumping up on the wagon.
"It's a tougher challenge, and arguably trumps even the mighty Space Invaders. Ooh, controversial…"
Would somebody really call that controversial? Would somebody honestly argue that the original Space Invaders'd be better than Galaga? I think it's a pretty universally accepted view to call Galaga a major improvement over SI in every single way.
@WiiDSmoker Are you even being serious? There are five interesting games this week! It's a great week with choices for anybody. Some people just like to see the worl burn and some people...just want to complain.
@abbyhitter Yeah, if you're only going to play through the story in as little time as possible. But half the fun is exploring all the areas, finding power-ups, doing side-quests and collecting chips. Doing that in all the games can EASILY amount to a couple hundreds of hours.
@abbyhitter Such a marathon could easily take you hundreds of hours. Good luck with that. It sounds awesome, though. ^^ I love the series. I've only played 1 and 3 so far, despite also owning 5 and Batte Chip GP.
Sorry for the terrible pun. Sucks to hear the game's not being released in AU. Occasionally happens in Europe or more specifically in Germany, too. I hope you're going to get it sooner or later.
@Teslain Should they only be reviewing the great games? Yeah, that would make a lot of sense. How about only giving out 10s, 9s, 8s and 7s? That will help their readers decide on what games to get.
It's mandatory to review as many games as possible and ESPECIALLY the games we don't know yet whether they're good or not. Asking for anything else is just stupid. Yeah, let's only review Zelda games.
@JaxonH Yeah, because the US NEVER gets VC releases first or exclusively...get realistic, man. It gets old to see Americans whining here when you in fact don't get the short end of the stick.
@Artwark The point is to strengthen the Wii U's lineup. If GBA games were also on 3DS, the Wii U wouldn't benefit as much from them. It's not that hard to understand. Especially when it's been said for months on end now.
There is nothing to "fix" here. It's a business decision. Simple.
It IS a lot more than that. You don't just dodge obstacles and die once you do. You traverse diverse levels in what is more of a puzzle game in an atmospheric world. All levels are carefully built rather than randomized and you need to use the various items in the right way to survive. I personally love it. It's a great game t opass a minute, but I also enden up playing it for hours laying awake in bed at night.
@Kitchener Why the hard feelings? This is not a case of people buying something with the intention of selling it for more. It's just a game that happened to become more expensive, so it sucks for any regular owner of the game to see its price plummeting. This is not like those people preordering dozens of Majora's Mask New 3DS subsequently selling their preorders for a profit.
"over 500 of the best Nintendo home console games, more than 50 boxed console variations, over 120 controllers, 300 magazines, 400 figures and 20 posters."
So...this is considered overly impressive nowadays? Or it warrants a ridiculous assumption such as "This Guy Loves Nintendo Way More Than You Do"? Wow...there are dozens of better and bigger Nintendo collections. I myself used to own around 250 different N64 games alone, not counting games for other systems. Next time you post a video of a neat, though not exceptional collection, please spare us the insulting and overblown assumptions.
@NbaJunkie How is a 5/10 a "completely different score" compared to a 6/10? What would a "somewhat different score" be then? Both a 5 and a 6 mean it's an average game. Nothing more, nothing less.So they're hardly "completely different scores".
@Captain_Gonru Yeah, I also immediately thought of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle: My Life as a King. Problem is, this review doesn't sound like Kemonomix+ would be doing anything differently or worse than Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle: My Life as a King, but just the reviewer apparently doesn't like this kind of game. Seems pretty biased. Anybody here who played both games and would be wiling to share his thoughts?
"It was a particularly strong year [for the 3DS]" Seriously? Aside from its horrible launch year, this was easily its second-worst year so far. Even if you DID like this year, you can't seriously state that it would have been "a particularly strong year" for the platform.
I think an 8 is way too generous. It's decent for an NES beat'em up (there are hardly any at all), but otherwise it's pretty low-tier, if you will. @Kirk Yeah, it most certainly is NOT a bullet hell shooter. Most people nowadays seem to use the term synonymously to shmups in general. Quite sad to even see a reviewer do this.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd April (Europe)
No new downloads whatsoever on the 3DS. Again.
Not even a demo or any meager piece of DLC.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th February (North America)
I wonder what people will find to complain this week.
Re: Mappy-Land
So, this is a sequel to Mappy? I hope it's better than Namco's other old "Land"-sequel, being the horrible Pac-Land.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd January (Europe)
@Kat I didn't like it either, but mostly for the stupid waggle controls.

Nice, Electronic Super Joy is super awesome. I've played it on Steam and I recommend it to just about anyone.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th January
Another terrible 3DS week.
Re: Two Tetris Titles Pulled From the 3DS eShop in North America
@WaLzgi There was none for North America, which this news is all about. Heck, it already states in the title that there was no warning.

Not, it includes 8. The Master System games Space harrier 3D and Outrun 3D are also on this one...
Re: Review: Castle Conqueror Defender (3DS eShop)
@TylerTreese But...you didn't review it. Or are you writing for some other outlet?
Re: Review: Mighty Final Fight (Wii U eShop / NES)
I think an 8 is way too generous. It's decent for an NES beat'em up (there are hardly any at all), but otherwise it's pretty low-tier, if you will. With all the alternatives on 3DS and Wii U I'd give this a 5. It's really monotonous (even by the genre's standards) and the XP system doesn't add a lot.
Re: Demand For amiibo Continues As Pre-Orders For Forthcoming Waves Sell Out
@MeddlingIdiot I wouldn't call that "sold out" then, though, as not all amiibos will be avilable through pre-order. The pre-order quantities have been sold out. But not the wave itself.
Re: Demand For amiibo Continues As Pre-Orders For Forthcoming Waves Sell Out
@MeddlingIdiot Little Mac hasn't even been released in Europe yet, has it?
Re: Video: Use Your amibo Figures Without Removing Them From Their Packaging

Well, they ARE opened. Just not all the way, but they are opened.
