What a waste of time this interview was. But then again, I am not even sure what this gentleman is doing at Nintendo, so I guess he might simply not be involved all that much in decision making? After all, he works in product development…at NOA?
Which begs the question why you would even interview him.

Thank you! It always annoys me greatly to see more and more people calling Metroid Prime an FPS. It feels like around the launch of the first game more people understood that it’s in fact an action-Adventure involving shooting that happens to be viewed from first person.
It‘s the perfect transition into 3D for the series, keeping the original feeling intact. So why would people call it an FPS?

Hating the NA one. The coloring is bad, the cover is way too cluttered and why are the syllables colored differently? Because Americans would not be able to properly pronounce the title otherwise?

@SuperRetroArt Maybe English isn’t their first language? E.g. in German the country‘s name is Moldawien, and it might be similar in other languages. So maybe people just translate it incorrectly into English. To be fair, people rarely talk about Moldovia online.

So…does the exhibition currently still exist somewhere in Japan? I couldn’t care less about it coming to the Us, but I will be in Japan in 2 weeks, and this would be great to take my son to.

@AmplifyMJ I bought Horace because of Nlife‘s glowing 9/10 review…yeah, it was a decent little game, but that rating was just ridiculous. This site sometimes tends to review British games better just on the virtue of being British.

I will never understand this odd perspective Nlife always has here. The JP GBA boxes do not add extra space. It’s the same space Ina different orientation. In the hands of a good designer, the Western boxes can be used to add more space to an artwork on the y axis, while in Japan it’s the x axis.
And in this particular case, the JP box cuts off Klonoa‘s foot, while the EU version shows it in it’s entirety.

LOL. All the comments mention Unicorn Overlord as #1, but that has changed. Now its‘s SMTVV, i.e. a technically good game that still got a lot of flak for Atlus‘s business decisions surrounding it.

@construx This is the home console MySims Kingdoms, though, whereas you mention the DS one, which is a different game. Hence, they cannot „re-add“ it to this, as this game apparently never had Hungarian subtitles. Of course I feel like they should have included the handheld versions in this collection from the start, but yeah, unfortunately not.

Interesting, as I was at the store just a month ago in a biz trip. ^^
But yeah, the article should really clarify what the plastic wrap refers to and how and if it affects booster packs. Don’t just regurgitate, please.

DQ V is the original monster taming game, so there‘s that.

LOL, hyperbole much? Sure, in Japan it’s a phenomenon, and it probably has some fans in the US, but in Europe barely anyone ever cared for the NES entries, and „hugely beloved worldwide“?

They should rather make sure to have enough stock. Was super disappointed that all the big cushions were sold out around noon despite them only selling one per person. Ridiculous stock strategy that entirely soured my visit.

Let’s see if they at least bother releasing them in this tiny market called Europe. With Dragalia Lost they sure enough didn’t for whatever reason.

I know I am late, but: Nintendolife doesn’t choose the highlights. They merely regurgitate Nintendo‘s press release, so Ninty chooses the highlights. NLife only adds their little touch in the article‘s sub-header.

@BANJO That's fair enough, though my Ngage looks just rough. The "Nokia" label above the screen is barely readable anymore, so I guess mine isn't worth all that much anymore. ^^
Fortunately, I have quite a few sealed games, and even some of the heavy hitters.
With Ngage, it always seems to me like there really are just 2 kinds of games in terms of values. You have the (just value-wise) junk like the ones you mentioned or Tony Hawk, Rayman, etc. and then you have games that fetch really nice money like Warhammer, the Atari Collections, Civilization, etc.
Very little inbetween.
And at least from my European POV the two regional exclusives (NCAA in the US and Sega Rally in Australia) are quite valuable as well.
