Re: Rumour: Nintendo Might Be Gearing Up For A GameCube Controller Comeback

Kazman2007

I'm just so curious of what a Gamecube NSO would even look like since it feels like some of the most important games are already on Switch. Metroid Prime, Paper Mario TTYD, Mario Sunshine (via 3d All Stars), for example. Even games that aren't on Switch yet have HD ports I'd rather see (Looking at the Zelda games). It's not to say they can't do it or that there aren't enough games, but I'm really curious on how it will be handled.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Pledges To Never Charge Money For DLC Or Updates

Kazman2007

I certainly appreciate his commitment, but given what I've read about the development of this game and the life he had to live before it came out, I wouldn't mind having to shell out a few more bucks for some quality updates. I want devs to get paid for their work, I just don't want publishers to exploit fans by breaking up a completed game to sell to us in parts.

Re: Video: Donkey Kong '94 - The 101-Level Sequel To Arcade DK

I LOVE this game. I really with Nintendo would revisit it. I know the original Mario vs. Donkey Kong was similar but it didn't quite scratch the itch. Then that series became more of a Lemmings-esque game. I really think this game could be amazing with nothing but a new coat of paint. It holds up that well!

Re: Talking Point: 'Remake' Vs. 'Remaster' - What's Your Definition?

Kazman2007

Port: Same Game on a new system with no changes.
Enhanced Port: Same game on new system with minor changes such as extra level or character.
Remaster: Same source code but with new assets, such as HD models or updated soundtrack fidelity. Can also include extra features seen in enhanced port.
Remake: Game remade from the ground up where none of the original assets remain.
Reboot: Completely original idea using the same characters and concepts, but with a new take that is not the same as the original.

Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch) - Still The King Of Mario RPGs

Kazman2007

I feel like this game didn't need to add too much (Not that I would have complained.) Mario RPG has been accessible on the last few Nintendo systems (Wii, Wii U, SNES Classic), so in some ways it's had a chance to be fresh in the eyes of the audience, necessitating something to re-invigorate it. There hasn't been a legal way to play TTYD since the Gamecube. Not saying it wouldn't have benefited from extra content, but it didn't need it. I'm not one for boss rushes anyway.

Re: Review: Golden Sun - A Radiant RPG, Once It Gets Going

Kazman2007

Something I think a lot of people forget about Golden Sun is that in terms of RPGs, it was a huge step into the RPG genre for kids of a certain age raised on Nintendo. You’d been through two generations of Pokemon on game boy and were probably growing out of it. The N64 didn’t have much in the way of RPGs (at least nothing noteworthy). Golden Sun dropped at the right time for those kids looking for something to take them deeper down the RPG rabbit hole.
