We are entering very dark economic times. I don't think Switch2 sales can be looked at in a vacuum. It's just part of the trend of downward sales this holiday season.

Need to find time to play this one still. Though I'll admit: I liked the original Hyrule Warriors more than Age of Calamity. Sure, the story was fanfic style cheesiness, but it brought in all these fav Zelda characters, and was chock full of fun content. Whereas the more serious tone of the second Hyrule Warriors made for a less interesting cast.

Plus I'll be honest, I feel so many of the characters fighting styles in Age of Calamity felt floaty and less satisfying.

Been a huge fan of Bethesda since Morrowind. And I find Starfield utterly bereft of any shred of enjoyment to mine. I try repeatedly to get into it, and there's just nothing there worth exploring or interacting with.

Zero Mission is way better than Fusion. Will die on that hill.

@Altaria_97 Right? Grueling work days, taking care of business and family, then ending it with a hard, punishing game? I'm not that masochistic. I need some calm downtime at the end of the day/week.

Casual mode? Oh thank god. I'm too old for tough games anymore. Sadly had to pass on Metroid Dread because I heard it was so tough.

Man, was so let down when the plans to revive the franchise fell through with all the huge industry layoffs and studio closures. But maybe this will console my aching heart... bring me back to good times with my wife early in our relationship, playing co-op together.

Doesn't look nearly as interesting to me as Vampire Survivors but... heck, I'll probably try it out.

Always struck me as a silly promise to place much faith in. Big corporations like Microsoft can only be counted on to do the bare minimum of what's legally required.

I think this might be the best Nintendo Direct ever, and with the reveal of a new Fire Emblem, and the last moment indication that it's a sequel to Three Houses?! Best end note ever, for sure!

Hoping this turns out to be good. I usually play horror games on PC, but the more time passes the less inclined I am to want to PC game and the more I just want to play on Switch/2.

I'd be bothered if I liked a single thing Ubisoft published.

The number of gamers who play online — and who play online with people they want to see as they play — was never likely to be a really high percentage in my estimation.

A poll of 180,000 people, but all the percentages are multiples of 5? I remember when learning how to read scientific studies, the teacher said: that's an instant indicator you should be dubious.

I don't get the obsession with the three lap races. I mostly want new cosmetics, new characters, and the ability to free roam with my wife.

Not surprised. People fail to understand that straight up spec comparisons don't mean a lot, when you're talking about a device like the Switch 2, made from the ground up for specific tasks, vs. a device made with more generalized parts.

Another sign that Nintendo operates like a business run by craftspeople and artists, for good and sometimes for ill. (The ill being a bit overzealous in protecting the integrity of their work sometimes.)

Microsoft brings nothing to gaming unlike Sony or Nintendo. They just gobble up studios and publishers, then run them into the ground. And here they are again, ruining what was once my second favourite publisher.

All other issues aside: This isn't "bricking". Bricking is when the device is stripped of all ability to do anything, making it essentially no more than a brick. This is banning it from online services.

It's honestly just nice to read takedowns that aren't specifically going out of their way to be ridiculously negative. The upgrades are sweet!

I don't understand the appeal of these breakdowns. The screen looks amazing to me. I can't visualize anything better. Maybe my eyes are too old or defective to see what others say is supposedly lacking.

Was never a Donkey Kong fan, Mario was my platformer of choice. But this thing looks exquisitely delightful! Top marks. Absolutely going to nab this, and the amiibo.

At this point? My wife and I could not be more pumped for this release.

Just a matter of waiting for it and the Switch 2 to arrive now. Because BestBuy didn't ship them until today.

It all seemed so bizarrely self-destructive.

@Gatorclops It's been under works. But Bethesda normally doesn't talk about its games until VERY close to launch. They made an exception with the next Elder Scrolls some years ago, but seem to have regretted it ever since, as nobody bothered to listen to their warnings that was really far off and they had multiple game projects to complete before it.

It was simply too hard for me. I just could not hack it and gave up early in.

@Mallow Nintendo "fans" seem to live for the chance to be outraged by everything the company does. There is no winning.

The Switch 2 looks like a really well built machine, intended to keep up with the times much better than the original did. And that costs money, shocking as it is to some.

It didn't impact "North America's" pre-order date, just the US. Nintendo's confirmed Canada is still on track for the original plan. The US is not all of North America, despite what Americans might think.

Everything is gonna be a mess for the foreseeable future.

Oh that's the good stuff! Love it. Felt fair enough to me that the upgrades wouldn't be free, after all, takes developer time to make them. But I already have the Online+ subscription for my wife and I, so this is just added value.

No fan of IGN, but this whole debate confused me since the originals came out. It was clear this generation of Pokemon had a lot more water areas to traverse, with a lot more HM juggling necessary just to get around them. And if you don't like that, it's clearly gonna be an issue. And considering "all water levels suck" is a long running sentiment in the game community...

I had it on WiiU, and got almost nowhere with it. Way too big and confusing for my old brain.

@Fizza Really not hard to understand why they want to give gamers time to get an impression of the game, before immediately dismissing it because of who the development team is. (Or isn't rather, because if it's not a core Nintendo team the reaction will be to not even give it a chance.)

I am so down for this. Love the vibe they're going for, the lead characters seem incredibly endearing and aesthetically on point for this kind of experience.
