Re: The Snack World Is Level-5's Next Cross-Media Project, And It's Coming To Nintendo 3DS

Jordie

@Captain_Gonru That's what I was talking about. I wouldn't mind if they made games for multiple platforms, that's completely logical from a financial standpoint. But this feels like they're altogether moving away from the 3DS and that's what I don't get. FL and Layton worked so well on 3DS (sold well, too, I think), so why abandon it? Ah, but maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself, maybe they'll go back with these franchises sometime in the future. I'm always hopeful.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th April (Europe)

Jordie

Might check out Pokémon Rumble World to see if it's any good. I did get some fun out of Shuffle, after all. Quell Memento will be on my discount radar, the predecessor is really nice and relaxing.

Quiet week, but that's okay, my backlog keeps me busy anyway.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd April (Europe)

Jordie

Will get one or two of the discounts, but probably wait on Xenoblade a bit. I have to finish a few other RPG's first before I can free some time to delve into it. Bad week for Wii U, huh?

Re: Japan Weekly: Bravely Second Jobs Revealed and Theatrhythm Dragon Quest Reviewed

Jordie

@ShadJV There's a new Praline song (it's on youtube).
@DarthNocturnal I think it's an awesome game. While it does have it's flaws, it makes up for those ten times over (and no game's perfect, anyway). Of course, not everyone's of the same opinion, but when I'm not sure about a game, I just buy it used.
On topic, I can't wait to try out all the new jobs I've heard about. And hooray for old Asterisks/Asterisk bearers coming back. Also, unlockable music. That just made my day.
While we're at it, Squenix, bring over the new Theatrhythm as well. Do it!

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Ten Must-Play Games On Nintendo 3DS

Jordie

Tough. I could readily vote for 20 games or more off this list. They're all so good...
I made my choice, but I would add Virtue's Last Reward and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, although those titles do build up on previous entries (esp. KH), so I guess they're not ideal for newcomers (but very good games, still).

Re: Review: Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley (3DS)

Jordie

Despite all the negative reviews (which I wholly agree with), I still think Natsume should build upon this series. Address the issues for the second installment as well as expand upon their initial ideas, and I'm sure it could become an enjoyable experience. In any case, I'd like for both (new) Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons to stick around. More variety in this genre is always appreciated.

Re: Nintendo’s Free-To-Play Experiment Pokémon Shuffle Surpasses 2.5 Million Downloads

Jordie

Nope, didn't spend an ounce of cash, neither in game (yet) nor in RL. Don't intent to, either.

I have to say they did pretty well with this, considering. New free DLC keeps coming and the game is fun and, most importantly, playable without cash. But I'll never get sold on the concept of F2P regardless, so it's better if it stays off consoles/handhelds in the near future imo. Smart Phones, I imagine, are the better and financially smarter option anyway, and with Ninty's new deals it should be feasible that way.

Re: Video: Nintendo's Four Step Stage Design Is Why You Love Super Mario Games So Much

Jordie

But isn't this Basic Game Design 101 that everyone should know? Although I always thought of it as three steps: introduce game mechanic --> make players use said game mechanic in various ways, upping difficulty step by step --> Boss/hard level/something really challenging

Simple but effective. Seriously, it's just like growing up and studying or training. It's supposed to be this way. Doesn't make game design any easier, though. And Nintendo does it really well, most of the time!

Re: All Theatrhythm Dragon Quest DLC Set to be Free

Jordie

Great, now I want it even more. I'm still holding out for a miracle, helped with Rune Factory 4 !
Bring it to the west, Squenix, I bought almost all of Curtain Call's DLC (at a ridiculous price, no less), I'm obviously willing to throw my money at you here, which doesn't happen often as you like to screw with us Europeans, so you might as well take advantage while you can, okay?

Re: Pokémon Shuffle Updated Once Again, Adds a Special Kyogre Challenge

Jordie

Got lucky and caught it on my first try. 30 turns is more than enough if you have a decent team imo. Funny how I swore not to get this game, then caved, and found it quite addicting (not that I would spend money on it, though). I like it more than Battle Trozei/Link Battle, what with the leveling and Mega Evolution etc.

Does that mean we can expect Groudon to show up as well?

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th March (Europe)

Jordie

Yay, perfect. I'll def get Mighty Switch Force! 1+2 and at least one or two of the SEGA 3D discounts. Not sure about Shantae yet, as I hope there'll be an even better offer in the future, and I've decided to wait for Risky's Revenge Director's Cut anyway. But good week overall for 3D discounts!

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th February (Europe)

Jordie

Zelda, of course, maybe even a theme because I can't resist when it's MM. I'm thinking 3D Fantasy Zone later, after the review. And I'll check out the Anime Channel, but I doubt I'll use it much. The N3DS will have to wait 'till Xenoblade 3D is out or near release date, with one or two cover plates for good measure.

I'm still holding out for new 3DS VC games and good discounts in the future...
