Re: Eiji Aonuma on the Idea of Giving Link a Voice

Jordie

Honestly? I don't want voice acting in Zelda. It's like a story book; you have the visuals, the text, but everything else is up to imagination. Voice acting can be really good (really bad too, of course), but even if carefully done, it takes away from the magic imo. I have enough other wonderful games with VA. Zelda can stay the way it is.

Oh, but maybe I'm just old-fashioned... ^^

(IF there ever was voice acting, I hope Link gets left out of it.)

Oh, I've listened to the whole soundtrack and while I like some of the music, especially the battle themes (including specific bosses) just don't do it for me. They're still good, don't get me wrong, I don't particularly hate them or anything, and the melody in itself is not the problem - it's the choice of instruments. I love me some good e-guitars, but they're practically overbearing in this game. They drown out everything else (even after they were adjusted somewhat following the demo) and I find that downright horrible. Probably supposed to tie in with a darker setting/story whatever, but I don't care. It's grating on my ears and I'm not very fond of the choice they made here. Just my personal opinion, though. :/

Also doesn't mean I won't enjoy the game because I'm pretty sure that I will. (Some of the old soundtrack is there, too, so that helps.)

Re: Review: Pokémon Picross (3DS eShop)

Jordie

Honestly, it comes at the right time. I deleted Pokémon Shuffle a couple weeks ago and while I enjoyed it it was getting awfully tedious what with all the money farming (and I'd gotten all the stones and everything up to that point, too, from the very beginning).

This, I like so far. I'll play it until it starts to get annoying and then I'll just delete it and go back to my regular Picross. Luckily, there's never a shortage of Picross. ^_^

Re: The Legend of Legacy Isn't Too Far Away From a Release in Europe

Jordie

Happy News? Idk. I was excited about this game before its original release, but since then I've read and seen a lot of reviews and now... I'm not so sure anymore. Lots of people complain about the lacklustre story and characters, frustrating game play (esp. levelling system), repetitiveness etc. Yeah...

Idk. :/

(Guess it's up to personal preference.)

Re: Sega: Recent Sonic Games Haven't Been "Acceptable", Looking To Replicate The Past In Future Outings

Jordie

They keep saying this but!

Anyway, I always feel so left out because I've been playing Sonic like a normal Jump 'n Run as a kid and I could never understand all this 'must be fast' sentiment. The fanbase is split anyway, everyone wants something else, there have been enough different games to warrant all these differing opinions, and in the end no one is happy with the result, which is sad. No matter how many Sonics I try, I usually go back to Sonic 3 & Knuckles for Megadrive/Genesis (and the original and 2, to some extent). I liked Generations, though. Hm...

(Guess I'll keep on hoping.)

We all know that 6 means 'not bad' but it's still a subpar Zelda, there's no denying it. Anyway, I decided a while ago not to get this, I'll just wait for the next installment instead. Wish everyone who does get this a lot of fun, though, enjoy!
