Square Enix continues to pull out the surprises for its fan base, and with the Theatrhythm Dragon Quest Japanese launch date of March 26th almost upon us, the surprises are not waning. Square Enix has delighted Japanese fans with free 3DS HOME themes already, and if you haven't heard today is the release of the Theatrhythm Dragon Quest demo on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
Famitsu has recently reported the best surprise so far, stating that Theatrhythm Dragon Quest fans will now be able to download all of the future DLC for free, a feature which most players would have certainly loved in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. That's certainly enticing news, and definitely a new incentive to try and get Theatrhythm Dragon Quest over to the West.
Unfortunately we still have not acquired any more news on Theatrhythm Dragon Quest's release outside of Japan. Although the release is looking unlikely, there is still hope as many Japanese franchises have made their way to Europe and North America.
How badly do you want to play Theatrhythm Dragon Quest? If Theatrhythm Dragon Quest doesn't arrive in the West, will these amazing features persuade you to buy a Japanese console? Let us know your thoughts in the comment.

Cool..I want this game now
That is great but since I never have played a Dragon Quest game it would be pointless for me to get as I won't know any of the music.
Downloaded the demo last night... I'll likely get this the month it releases now. Yay free dlc!
Hmm...might they have actually learned a thing or two from their mistakes ?
Whatever it may be, this can only benefit the game.
I only wish that they would pack up the Curtain Calls DLC into affordable packages.
I dont mind paying its retail price in DLC again, if it doubles the playable content. But Curtain Calls DLC costs almost double the main games retail price which is a definitive no-go for me.
So Square, youre shot: Make DLC bundles and / or a DLC sale.
BMS stages look horrible in Theatrhythm Dragon Quest (notes scrolling vertically means less response time and the zooming perspective makes it harder to time them) though which makes me hesitate even if it does come out.
But I need to know more about the base package I can't see this having 220 songs with 80+ DLC so it might be something like 70 songs with 50 free DLC (so more on the scale on the original Theatrhythm Final Fantasy than Curtain Call)
Whats the point of having all the extra songs be DLC? Why not just include them on the cart instead of the slim 60 songs? Oh well I really hope this comes to the US as Curtin Call was my GOTY last year and I love Dragon Quest.
But doesn't FF have have almost twice the amount of songs that this DQ game will have? You're still paying the same for less, unless they really push out a lot of future DLC.
More awesome news that doesn't affect us at all because Squeenix are professional torturers to all their DQ fans in the West.
Square Enix recently sent out this survey to all their fans:

If you want more Dragon Quest games like this to come to the West then make sure to say so in the survey. Or feel free to fill it out if you're a fan of any of their other franchises.
@mattchew - Maybe they haven't finished with the other songs yet, or decided later down the line to make them free. Either way, people buying the game get all the extra songs for free so everyone wins.
Great news by S-E !
Do this for Final Fantasy ones! >:[ the DLC is overpriced
Good now go back and make Curtain Call DLC all free because at this point buying all of that would be just ridiculous, not to mention more expensive than the game itself.
Nice.
But one annoying thing about Theatrhythm Final Fantasy:
Why i have to get more points/notes to unlock songs in player?
Why i can't listen to them and not playing/slapping stylus in same time?
OK, definitely buying!
Though a localisation isn't guaranteed. Apparently Westerners don't buy DQ games (you know, if you ignore the most recent one, IX, which sold rather well in the West).
@SilentHunter382 My sentiments exactly. Besides, the game may not be localized by SE in the west anyway.
Okay, that's at least a slight improvement, but doesn't change the rip-offs for the other Theathrythm games. And seeing how Squenix most likely won't release this here, it's barely worth mentioning.
So: Curtain Call: 200 songs, have to pay for more
Dragon Quest: 50+ songs, free extras.
I'd rather have them on the Cart to begin with.
Dragon Quest music is much more Meldody orientated which is why I want this so bad. Free DLC doesn't hurt either...doesn't hurt at all.
Great, now I want it even more. I'm still holding out for a miracle, helped with Rune Factory 4 !
Bring it to the west, Squenix, I bought almost all of Curtain Call's DLC (at a ridiculous price, no less), I'm obviously willing to throw my money at you here, which doesn't happen often as you like to screw with us Europeans, so you might as well take advantage while you can, okay?
Good, 60 songs is terrible amount for Theatrhythm standards, also, Japan got a free demo and a theme?! Square Enix really do hate the west do they?
The lack of stereoscopic 3D in the demo bummed me out. Gonna wait for a price drop on this one.
That's good news!
I still haven't bought Curtain Call. I'm just waiting to find these games cheaper as I'm not dying for them like some people (though they are good for what they are).
Even though I hardly know any Dragon Quest music, this promotion of free DLC definitely ups the value by lowering the cost of all it'll have to offer (compared to TFFCC's massive a la carte).
Would like to see more TFF freebie promotions, like the two DLC tracks for a month after launch. Hell, why not just drop the original TFF DLC (sans maybe "Somnus"?) to free, since it's all included in Curtain Call anyway?
