Is this going to mobile too.
I need to finish the first game before I can even look at this.
@Spoony_Tech
Going mobile - fat chance!
Can't wait. Going to import a version, but I'll still play the NA release.
Bravely Default was fantastic until chapter 5 destroyed it for me totally. I dont mind little bit grinding and difficulty spikes here and there, but recycling of content and story is just dissapointing.
I really like that the characters don't look like children this time. I just hope the gameplay is a bit more engaging than the first game.
I'd heard a rumor this might be going multiplatform. I guess we'll see.
Was that supposed to be Edea? I'm going to miss Ringabel, he was my fave in the first game.
Probably saving it for an E3 announcement.
Of course you know what also would go nicely with that Square Enix? Some Virtual Console support, especially now the Wii U has GBA and DS games you can throw on there.
They're definitely saving this for an E3 announcement. I have the first game, but I haven't played it yet. Darn you, backlog!
The first one was terrific, can't wait to get this one State side.
Hopefully we get a playable demo soon, the one that came before Bravely Default's release was awesome. It would be great if the same happen with End Layer.
That trailer was... Odd.
@Spoony_Tech Yeah the mobile Fantasy life 2 thing was the worst thing I have heard in a while :L
Really looking forward to this, I already know it will be one of my favorite games on the 3ds. Like fantasy life also was...
Oh, I love it! >_<
And to think the western release is probably far off...
Knowing that this is coming, I elevated BD way up in my backlog and am currently playing through it as we speak. It's funny... I turned my friend on to this game, he played it, beat it, loved it, and I'm the one missing out :/
The first one was good, but I hope the sequel has a better second half. Re-fighting bosses was tedious.
The 23rd is not coming fast enough! Can't wait to get my CE of Bravely Second and my Magnolia statue! -*Watches countdown clock obsessively *
I hope Ringabel comes back; he was one of my favorite characters in BD.
This really looks impressive, can't wait to play this if/when it hits USA shelves. Of course, I'll be preordering a collectors edition to go with my Bravely Default CE.
@FX29 Re-fighting bosses is one trope that can go away. That's a big reason why I don't like Skyward Sword.
@Patchouli
I'm just glad Edea is back! She was by far my most powerful character in BD.
Sword Magic + Valkyrie = fiery death to all!!
@hypermouse You're right! Same for me i have my doughts about the second one.
@ShikabaneHime13
I just looked up a picture of the CE. I REALLY hope that comes to US!
I was okay living without that old Agnes figure from the Jap CE, but this one looks AMAZING AS HECK!!! I must own it.
I definitely can't wait to play Bravely Second, though I still need to beat the optional boss you can battle way later in the game.
@Iggly
SPOLIER ALERT
you mean "the Adventurer"? He was freaking hard. Good luck!
@JellySplat
Lol, even Japan's original Bravely Default CE was vastly superior to the ones for EU and NA. That said, I ended up getting this CE because, having missed out on the replica of the "D" journal, I had to have the "U" journal included in this set and I know the likelihood of getting the same CE whenever the game is localized is slim to none
Hopefully it won't be a rehash of a already crappy game.
@ShikabaneHime13
Probably smart. Except, I don't have a JPN 3DS, so it really wouldn't be worth it to me. The collector/Bravely Default fan side of me is saying "Buy it, buy it!", but the other side is saying " your money is in fact a finite thing".
Besides, if I can't play it, then why open it? And if I can't open it why have it?
I hope you enjoy yours though! I Really hope that we are proven wrong, and get this inthe USA/UK regions.
I am in the minority here, but I could not stand the first one at all. The battle mechanics were okay but I HATED the voice acting, and the dialogue just seemed so bad to me. I'll wait until I hear more on this one though, if I recall correctly there is a new team of writers for the second.
Not going to watch the trailer because I am playing through the 1st game at the moment but 35 hours in and I love it, I just want to get it finished so I can play xenoblade chronicles 3d lol
@hypermouse True. I hope they don't do the same with second.
Yes, the last bit of the game was a pain, but I absolutely adore this game and can't wait for the sequel to come out here.
Tomorrow I am going to be finishing my first ever playthrough of Bravely Default. I can't wait!! It's been an amazing 73 hour journey thus far
Spiffy trailer. But I will not purchase unless the three major problems that killed the first one's great potential are fixed: (1) You can actually explore towns as opposed to only being able to visit the shops. (2) Dungeons are more than just mazes peppered with treasure boxes. From footage we have seen, it looks like they will be generally the same, which is disappointing. I wish they would be dynamic pre-rendered backgrounds like in FF7, 8, and 9. (3) That last half of the game....MAN it's unbelievable to me that that whole portion slipped through the cracks and made it to the final product. I'll keep it generally spoiler free...but I would have totally been cool with that plot twist if it only happened once but that many times?? Unforgivable. I was flabbergasted.
Anyway, this is a game I really WANT to like since I was super hyped about the original until I played through it and it punched me in the gut with the above listed flaws. I'll have to wait and see what improvements were made.
On a side note...(spoiler free) that other major plot twist near the end...regarding that secret that was right in front of you the whole game was SOOOO cool. That title screen....gives me chills.
That trailer looked like an anime opening more than anything.
@Quorthon
>don't look like children
To be fair, they look like children in gameplay, not in CG. They don't look like children in the CG scenes in Bravely Default (not that they aren't to a doctor).
@TheWPCTraveler
I guess they look a little less like children, then. I forgot about the cutscenes of the first one.
Why the male character looks more girly than the female character?
