Re: Nintendo Lawyer Breaks Down What Makes An Emulator Illegal

I will keep saying it, if you abandon a hardware platform and you no longer make it available to purchase or the games on that platform everything on that platform is fair game.

Obviously support current systems and platforms whether it be subscription services that give you access to old stuff if you still like that and don't like messing with emulation, but these 20 plus year old systems in many cases shouldn't have any roadblocks in the way for their content.

The way the landscape is changing Publishers are becoming less and less needed which is great for developers because they get more of the money that they deserve.

One of my close friends is building a game and they don't want to use a publisher because they know how much they could lose to them.

Just to put it in perspective when selling a video game you already lose 30% to most storefronts before you even pay your taxes and then some Publishers depending on what services they provide could take up to another 30%, some cases even more before you get your money.

@WiltonRoots I mean there's nothing they can do to individuals who are not profiting off of piracy.

In fact it's only a matter of time before somebody makes a ROM site hosted in a country that has new rules for intellectual property that aren't hundreds of years old.

All that I know is that I'm going to play every first party switch game that comes out and I don't plan on paying for any of them except maybe Metroid.

Nintendo wants to be an dick Corporation and start a war they can go right ahead but it's not a winning battle for them.
