The first teaser trailer for Clockwork Aquario, the 1993 "lost" classic which is being resurrected for modern console this year, has been released.

Created by Wonder Boy studio Westone, Clockwork Aquario was originally destined for early '90s arcades but never saw the light of day – a casualty of the coin-op sector's obsession with one-on-one fighters in the wake of Street Fighter II.

Original creator Ryuichi Nishizawa worked with Dennis Mendel and Benedict Braitsch of Strictly Limited Games to restore and finish the game, and it's coming to Switch and PS4 sometime this year, following a delay from 2020. You can read our interview with the team behind the game here.

Strictly Limited Games is offering limited and exclusive physical editions of the game, which can exclusively be pre-ordered at Strictly Limited Games. The Limited Edition for Switch is already sold out, but the Collector’s Edition is still available (69,99€) and includes goodies such as an acrylic diorama, 2x soundtrack CDs (original & remix), a 100-Yen arcade coin and character cards. An Ultra Collector’s Edition is available for 129,99€ and includes even more good stuff, like an 18cm-tall figurine of Elle, Huck and Gush and a Shikishi.
