This article made me preorder the game. Never had it on any other platform, and I can't imagine myself having the time to spend 100+ hours in front of the TV with my child being around. My PS4 games usually are shorter experiences so I'm realistically able to finish them.
@sdelfin @Aslanmagic Thanks, both things seem worth a try. If only there was a way to skip the tedious first part that's just not fun anymore after you have done it numerous times, and go right to the marching cards part.
"...we do have systems in place, both within the company and in connection with outside experts for such an occurrence...". Isn't that the very description of "preventive measures" that Nintendo claims it doesn't have?
@TheFanatic I would be very surprised if more than one of those games show up in 2019. But hey, let's hope - I enjoyed Sony's lineup in 2018 a lot. If both Nintendo and Sony deliver a great year, the better for the gamers. I just can't imagine that either publisher can repeat what Nintendo had 2017.
@Heavyarms55 @TheFanatic Sony did in 2018 what Nintendo did so well in 2017 - stuff the year with great exclusives and dominate media coverage and player discussions. Just as was the case with Nintendo's 2018, Sony will have a mediocre lineup of new content in 2019. You simply can't release Zeldas or God of Wars every year. Sony is well aware of that; instead of disappointing everyone at E3, they are skipping it.
Backed it, just because they have multiplayer support, which is nice. This feature (have multiple bluetooth headphones paired with the Switch at the same time) will never be added by Nintendo, as they need the Bluetooth spectrum already to support all these controllers.
In the European system, it would be decisive if the third-party product caused the damage that the consumer wants to have repaired under the warranty. A general exclusion of warranty if the consumer uses a product not sold by Nintendo as peripheral is invalid under EU law.
@TheWorkingDead Sorry to disappoint, but this is nothing like Diablo. If you liked Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale back in the day, that's a better point of reference.
@DEZn00ts So you think the whole gaming industry tried to get Nintendo go third party so they all met and decided they would not support Wii U and THAT is why this console had mediocre sales? And you accuse me of spreading conspiracy theories?
On topic: I think Nintendo will definitely support the Switch with a continued stream of quality titles. It's just a fact that they don't have another mainstram Mario and Zelda title in reserve. On the other hand, any new Switch owner will want to play those anyway, so they'll probably be evergreens like GTA or Rocket League. For us existing users, I hope we see at least some additional big first party hitters also in 2018 and beyond.
I think they'll announce their Netflix-style online service. It's a new way to play, as you don't go out and buy or download games, but you subscribe to Nintendoflix (patent pending) and have access to a wide selection of classic Nintendo software.
Oh my; after Jose Otero leaving IGN, this is the second horrible Nintendo gaming journalism departure of 2017. All the best to you, Tom, and thank you for all your hard work. It was enjoyable reading your stuff.
How come this review does not address Wave Race at all? Is this game a good means to scratch that itch for a new entry in this classic Nintendo franchise?
@Gibb He was obviously talking about Torment: Tides of Numenara (a spiritual successor to Planescape) that inXile released this year (roughly at the same time as Zelda was published, which gave me a headache back then ^^).
Fargo was asked a while back to bring this "current" Torment to Switch, but replied that this would be the completely wrong market. Torment is mostly about reading, so maybe not the best fit for a portable console (at least that seemed to be Fargo's logic). Mind you that this was said a while back, even before inXile was given a Switch development kit.
And yes, wooooooooooooo Planescape: Torment (my favourite game ever, see my avatar ^^).
I couldn't participate. Was the matchmaking working, or did Ketchup players end up battling teammates more often than Mayos also in Europe, as it was reported for North America?

Re: This Fully-Functioning Calculator Course In Super Mario Maker 2 Is Utter Genius
Does anyone have the slightest idea how that works? It seems to come down to the number and position of exploding bomb-ombs at the end.

@Aslanmagic Please do share that trick - I stopped playing because of that last part with King Dice.
Re: Video: 7 Minutes Of New Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order Gameplay
Looks pants. Hopefully, that is due to video compression etc and the final product looks more engaging.

Re: Rumour: Did Reggie Just Give Us Our First Glimpse At A New Retro Studios Project?
It probably was this artist who made the artwork. I wouldn't read too much into the tweet.
OK, just kidding, of course it's a secretive announcement of Metroid Pinball 2 & Knuckles.
Re: PlatinumGames Still Wants To Get The Wonderful 101 On Switch
It was a fun game. Hopefully, the Port Everything To Switch (PETS) initiative is successful also for this hidden gem.

Those movies were extremely popular in all German-speaking countries as well. So cool that someone made this.
Re: Square Enix Issues Apology After Underestimating Huge Octopath Traveler Demand
It happened in Austria as well, my preorder was not fulfilled on launch day. It should be in the mail today, though. Fingers crossed!

Re: E3 2018: What Do You Want To See From Nintendo At E3?
Metroid Prime 4. That's my single most anticipated game of all E3.
Re: Gorogoa Is Getting An Update, Adding In An Extra Puzzle From The Original Demo
Great news, I loved the game, also for its shortness.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Will Be "Crazier, Better, Tighter" Says PlatinumGames
My most anticipated game on Switch. I hope they take their time.

Looks good! Looking forward to it if they can keep the controls tight and the campaign mode motivating.

@Julien Right, that's probably something to get the more casual/family crowd in.
Re: Nintendo Releases Stunning Third Quarter Financial Results, Confirms Switch Sales Have Overtaken Wii U
Great numbers! I am curious to see if momentum fades in 2018 without a big hitter like Mario Kart or Zelda.

Re: Unreal Engine Powered F-Zero X Concept Astonishes, Goes Fast
That's not a good video to promote a reboot. I like the look of the F-Zero tracks in MK8 better. Or Fast RMX.
Re: This Portable Console Has Over 350 Built-In Games So You'll Never Be Bored Again
Nintendo already then made the best games, so any retro device without their titles seems pointless to me.
Re: Feature: Here's What Was Announced During The January 2018 Nintendo Direct Mini
I think it was a good Direct, but enjoyed the hype that preceded it even more.

So did I. And I subconsciously read the comment in the voice of John Cleese.

That's a really big Switch
Re: N64 Classic Diddy Kong Racing Gets Unreal Engine Makeover
That game was so, so, so great for the N64. I played it to death. I'd love a sequel. No karting game ever had a better singleplayer mode.
