that memory speed thang is a bigger deal than it's given credit for if it's VIDEO memory. system memory, not so much. if it's soc then it's shared, if my understanding is correct.

i was always going to buy this, no matter what. fast racing neo on the wii u has settled many a money tournament among nephews and neices. i wonder if they will have mario kart style power ups but sci-fi'd like tactical strikes, seeker missiles, etc.

also, i think i will go for the hdr-ish setting instead of chromatic abberation. the latter is something we used to try to avoid when we shoot. i guess nowadays, it's the in thing along with lens flares, wrong exposure, etc. all the things you like when you're basic as fudge (clean alternative).

@JaxonH yeah, i've seen those and i guess we were both already looking for ways to expand beyond 256gb. the microsd to sd card option was something i was considering since not only are there sd cards with higher capacities and speeds, tehre are sd cards with wi-fi. those can connect to a wireless drive. the otehr option is to get something like this thing but to sdxc standards.

fast racing is the one game there i am truly looking forward to. i didn't grow up on zelda so it doesn't have as much impact on me as it does on others.

they can do a capcom and just rerelease their greatest hits as hd remakes. maybe do a bit of square and remake their most iconic game: metal grear solid.

i think the treasure chest lets you guess what treasure you plucked out of it. the gorilla is probably a chest-beating game, like tarzan.

it lacks the important info about the triggers, whether they are more than 1 bit resolution. i heard in a podcast somewhere that even the individual joycons have pressure sensitive shoulder buttons. that either means they are activated via pressure, not pressing, or measure just how much pressure is exerted on them for degree of actuation.

@ThomasBW84 many thanks for the thorough reply. isn't it possible or even likely that the accessibility is more of a reflection of the new state of media? crowds are a publicist's dream, but maybe this is more of a reflection of how media, specifically gaming media has changed. that mass of people with a reasonable number of youtube subscribers could very well represent the new state of the industry. they're called influencers now. that's a more recent phenomenon and i don't know how long the crowds at e3 have been that way. i myself only started visiting nlife the site because of nlife the videos.

i still think breath of the wild's look tells me 'wind waker grew up'.

this is jsut a problem with middleware. once these guys start considering the switch in their cross platform deployments, the games can/will/should/hopefully show up.

a lot of apps are just self contained browsers. even if a browser doesn't come with the switch, it has the capability to run one, and there ought to be one in the eshop just in case you want it.

a bridge connects two points. the switch seems to accomplish that. i just wished they didn't compromise so much on the 'home console' end. the portable end is fine, tho' that storage shortcoming is going to be an issue in the long run.
