@MoonKnight7 i don't think it's limited. the wording of the report/rumor leads me to believe that 128gb is jsut the largest capacity memory card that devs have used so far. it gives enough room for large games short of call of duty infinite+modern warfare. maybe that's the max that game cards can support for gen1 switch cartridges.

my ps3 has a 1tb hdd and it's woefully inadequate for digital download games. if the switch doesn't include a load/offload hard drive in the dock, then that 128gb is going to have to be at the very least, hot swappable like a game card.

@MitchVogel digital is possible, or at least an upgrade path. get the switch version/upgrade for free/discount if you have the digital version.

BREAKING!!! nintendo intend to release 4 mobile games before the end of march. additionally, they are also working on an android version of mario run. all according to bloomberg. they do not cite a source.

@Nintendian i can already see the ad where a guy is playing pokemon go on the fone when it rings and he has to answer it, just when something rare shows up. he answer, but whips out the switch to continue playing. "Switch. When you want to play". it'll be a superbowl ad.

i don't see a second screen peripheral coming soon with the drive to reinforce the message of it not being a 3ds. maybe later in 2017 when 3ds users start to migrate in larger numbers - and hopefully a switch xl comes out.

btw if this is as advanced as it should be and not at sold at a loss, a supplier or two is possibly giving up a huge discount to be in on it.

that is amazing, and yet a bit sad. it's one of the best games out there, bar none. yet it's stuck on an underperforming platform. so many games on wii u deserve better, like splatoon, bayonetta 2, so many games that deserve at least triple the number of players who enjoy them.

@rjejr i think that one possibility is just turn the switch 90 degrees and it serves as a top and bottom screen. it limits the ds/3ds games to digital downloads that way tho'. the most practical second screen is a mobile fone in a special case that also has a card slot, that all forms a HUGE clamshell.

nicely done. yep it looks thicker than any tablet i've ever seen. i guess/hope that means it's chock full of battery and hopefully internal storage.

@rjejr they might make an accessory or peripheral that adds a second screen and ds/3ds card slot. it's a pretty modular design.

@Tomires yeah, even 1080p doesn't cut it. i think that if they ever introduce a vr screen holder for the switch, it will be an el cheapo cardboard style device, just to say "look it has vr!" but not much else. that might be enough tho'. vr is more like something for short bursts. cheapo folding and portable vr via cardboard-style, and more importantly, portable motion controllers (presumably) would be fine for that.

for tv play, the dual screen was okay, but not necessary. for portable, i really think it is necessary. a portable single 2d screen experience is just a tablet or a mobile phone experience. the dual screens and auto-stereo 3d of the 3ds were features that distinguished it from just another smart device. the general public and investors as well won't see any distinguishing features on the switch other than the controllers and the stand.

NOOOOO!!!!! there must be a way... down the road. there MUST be a way. i mean look already. they said that there would be no further info on the switch until next year but there seems to be more of it just the day after. this is just initial distancing from the wii u for general public, i have to believe.

BREAKING news that only 16 hours old. check out shin'en's twitter. they confirmed development on switch. i suspect at least a port of fast racing neo.

@FlashmanHarry yeah i really don't think the reveal switch is final. the layout might change from xboxy to wii u pro controllery. sticks might even be replaced by circle pads. also, this might just be the base switch. there might be a switch xl or switch nano in the pipeline.

you think maybe they offer this because the switch won't have a virtual console?

@GreatPlayer i'm going to keep saying this until it comes true or i get tired of it, but i want a second screen peripheral. it can be an actual second screen with 3d as the top screen, a square touch screen that docks the joy-cons to the side, or a cradle for a smartfone as either top or bottom screen. all forming a ckamshell. if not, i'll take just turning the switch 90 degrees for a top and bottom screen.

@MarioPhD heh i was thinking in the other direction. bigger stuff! we call it a hybrid, but to me it's a modular system with lots of potential points of system progression. in the future, the dock might be able to do processing for 4k, hold an hdd, network multiple switches, etc. steel series, razer, hori, and others can make aftermarket dockable controllers. the lcd screen can be plopped into a cardboard like device for virtual reality. my personal favorite is the second screen idea, where it becomes a portable wii u/gigantic 3ds thru emulation. maybe jsut a portable screen/dock with bigger battery. on and on and on and on...

@ThomasBW84 i was crazy enough to want it to. i think it still might, but they won't announce that to the general public audience just to maximize distance from the wii u.

@Faruko it might not. i know they said this was a home console, but if this is also replacing the 3ds, then they might offer the option of being handheld only.

i wouldn't be surprised if they were still finalizing specs. this jsut gives them room.

i think i get the messaging to big publishers now. make your aaa 4k games for ps4 and xb1, then make the portable 720p/1080p version for switch. they add the cheeky addendum of: what else would you put it on? the vita? (italian lagh).

are there asset stores for unreal 4? at least the quality of asset flipper games will increase heh

@Billsama i don't think they have a choice in the matter. outside of us nintendo fans, they really do need to convince people that it isn't jsut another tablet.
