Another week begins, and as per our custom in Europe that means we can get warmed up with news of the download treats on the way later this week. We have a few new Nindie efforts on Wii U and 3DS, Mega Man RPG goodness, and also some tempting discounts in the Wii U eShop 'Epic Indie Sale' - let's get to the details.
Wii U eShop
Never Alone (E-Line Media, €14.99 / £12.99 ) - A puzzle platformer playable in single player or two player co-op, this follows the adventures of Iñupiaq girl Nuna and her companion, an Arctic fox, as they attempt to find the source of the "eternal blizzard". This is full of rich history that's wonderfully presented, but we feel that there are notable design and technical issues with this Wii U version - check out our Never Alone review for details.
Funk of Titans (EnjoyUp Games, €8.99 / £8.09) - Developed by studio A Crowd of Monsters, not an actual crowd of monsters, this platformer splits over 40 levels across three worlds: Pop, Rap, and Rock. To quote a press release directly, you "show those jive-turkey Pagan Titans why funk is the music of the Gods! Funk-Fu for the win!" Unfortunately we weren't feeling it in our Funk of Titans review.
Wii U Virtual Console
Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun & Blue Moon (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) -The latest entry (in two variations) of this RPG spin-off series that graced the Game Boy Advance. This time around Lan and Mega Man have to worry about an asteroid heading to Earth and a NetNavi threatening the network, which sounds like a tough day at the office. We gave this a strong recommendation in our Mega Man Battle Network 4 review.

Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy (Spicysoft, €2.99 / £2.69) — It's taken longer than we expected to arrive in Europe, but this sequel to the rather popular bike / runner original is finally pedalling into view. This incorporates wackier areas and some fun power-ups, and we gave it a hearty recommendation in our Bike Rider DX2: Galaxy review.

More Mega Man!
Any week with a Mega Man game is a good week
Will probably get Shantae for Wii U. Nothing much else.
I guess it's okay
Nothing really interesting for me, already played the mega mans too much years n years ago. Another week without anything, guess i'll put the cash I had set aside into my PC.
I might get Shantae.
ill take edge and rush
"Nothing for me" but there's not this choice in your poll !
Nothing again :/
What are the terms on the indie sale? If I buy, say, EDGE now can I get discounts on the other games? Or do I have to own them prior to this?
Giana Sisters for me, have owned the PC version since launch, dragged my heels on getting a Wii U version. Dat soundtrack by Chris Huelsbeck and Machinae Supremacy.
You guys didn't even bother with the 'nothing for me' option this week. Trust me, i understand. Another bad week.
Think I'll get Shantae, seems like a decent buy at that price.Got a few of those indies already so nothing else for me.
I know I should pick Never Alone but I feel inexplicably drawn towards Funk of the Titans!
Yawn, another week goes by with little interest.
I'll get Shantae.
No 3DS love AGAIN! Grrr
I'm probably the only european excited about Bike Rider DX2 but yeah, day 1 + DLC's for sure, loved the first one.
Shantae and Guacamelee!
Never Alone for me, despite the irritations mentioned in the review. If they're too annoying, then I'll get it on Steam too. Maybe Shantae too since it's on sale. Getting a massive backlog of games now for Wii U and 3DS. About time I tackled it, though still slogging my way through Fantasy Life. Man, it takes a long time to finish all requests and level everything up to 20.
Wow....that's pretty bad for 3DS even by this year's 3DS update standards. Where's it's indie sale?
May get Trine 1 offer on 23rd July. Any news of Streets of Rage 2 release date?
Never have and probably never will buy an indie/third party game on a Nintendo platform so nothing for me
Some sales on virtual console games over summer would be nice, I bought most NES/SNES on release but I could be tempted by a dozen or so N64/GBA/Wii games if they were discounted.
Meh. Poor week.
Nothing for me since I've already got the few things there I was interested in and not buying another megaman until I bother to finish the last one.
Suppose I'll withold my vote then ;p
You would think that with a 50 million install base some indies would be trying to bring some worthwhile titles over to the 3DS Eshop.Apart from the occasional mobile game and themes it's like it's been abandoned altogether since they released the New model.
@bitleman Why mention the Vita? A system that's not even dead, whatever you may claim. I do buy A LOT of games for it, as i do for Xbox One/PS4/3DS/WiiU as well. So accusing me of fanboyism, is total nonsense.
On topic: it IS a bad week, so am i not allowed to point it out, because someone like you might get offended? Grow up, kid.
Nothing!
Might be interested in some discounts, but to be fair, Bike Rider 2 is where it's at for me!
Here we go again, more Mega Man games. We had a great selection last week so must now be punished! All this is ensuring I will never buy a MM game because I don't want to encourage the next fifty titles arriving.
As others have stated, where is the nothing for me this week option?
I might just get both MegaMan Battle Network games, if only to not have to deal with the issues of the cartridge anymore...
Bit trip and guacamelee I think and maybe the bike game for 3ds.
has nintendo just gave up now putting gamboy/nes games on the 3ds VC thank god for sega and the 3d classic range they do
Shantae and Switch Force 2 please guv'na!
wow the sale for Trine Enchanted Edition is excellent! I cannot miss that! I was gonna get the game at some point anyway regardless of a discount.
Time to get shantae i think
Come on ninty we want snes remastered in 3d listen to your fans.............
Probably get Shantae.
Nothing for me.
Another weak week. Still waiting for decent discounts for the 3DS Eshop (I already have SMT IV...).
Might never happen.
People, get Guacamelee and Toki Tori 2 if you haven't already. You can thank me later.
Oh man, these indie deals are amazing. Hope America gets them too this Thursday, I've been wanting the Trine games as well as Shantae.
I quite like the absence of the "Nothing for me this week" option. I think this should continue.
That's a mega discount on the Shantae game. I am sold, but can anyone tell me whether it's worth playing the previous two iterations before getting stuck in on Pirate's Curse?
@chewytapeworm You should play all of them regardless of the order because they're all great games but you won't lose much by diving into this one first.
@OrangeCluster Thanks. I'll be purchasing it come Thursday then!
How many Mega PokeMan games did they make?
Hey guys if you get a chance I highly recommend Bike Rider DX. It really is a lot of fun. It was one of the most surprising downloads I have bought from the N/A Eshop. And ......it's a cheapy.
I was hoping to see Gotcha Racing in today's Euro Eshop so that might indicate North America getting it on Thursday. Hopefully Thursday.
@Windy I have to second this, please get DX2 to raise the odds of getting DX3 localized, it's a great little time waster on the cheap side.
Make my wallet cry Nintendo, please. These download updates are rather depressing when you don't have a wii u :S
Good time to pickup Shantae i think Also might go for Megaman Battlenetwork.
Nothing for me again. I just don't like the indie games and haven't for a long time. They are not capturing the heyday of gaming imo.
Shantae and the Trine games and I may try Bike rider dx2 for the price their asking.
The Bike Rider games are fun, and the 2nd edition brings some new tricks. Runner 2 is an absolute steal at that price, too. It's a masterpiece of a game.
Overpriced VC garbage as always, but a good week to pick up on those indies.
Any week with a Mega Man game is a good week
On the contrary, I am beginning to see why the whole Mega Man series died in the first place. The Battle Network games are barely different to each other. I'll still download it.
How many Mega PokeMan games did they make?
There are six Battle Network games on GBA, four of which come on two cartridges so ten. Then there is the spin-off Battle Chip Challenge on GBA. A port of the fifth game on DS and Network Transmission on GameCube which I haven't played. How similar is Network Transmission to the GBA games other than featuring the same characters?
I'm not getting anything this week, but I already have Shantae
Might switch force 2 for me, love the 3ds 1 so cant wait to play number 2 on my wii u
@Bass_X0
Network Transmission is WAY different. It still uses Chips in battle, but it plays more like a traditional Mega Man platformer.
change the nothing for me this week to, something for me this week to troll everybody.
Anyone in Europe, grab guacamelee. You'll thank me later.
The store is still not updated, with my wallet ready and all...
