It may have had a relatively quiet run-up to release, but Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 is just a short time away from release on 3DS in the West, a somewhat surprising localisation effort by Koei Tecmo as a result of the second title being Japan-only.
With its arrival not far off Koei Tecmo has launched a full official website with plenty of details on the title, outlining modes such as Challenge stages that'll have weekly online ratings. The Story campaign is being pitched as being relatively dynamic, with the outcome and progress varying depending on actions within battle - such as who you support, ally with etc - and it's also been confirmed that there'll be fairly substantial editing functionality to change the look of the main protagonist, male or female.
Due in stores soon, are you tempted to pick this up?

The 3DS footage looks painfully choppy. Having footage of both the 3DS and VITA version is a really bad idea, especially when the performance is so easily notable.
Out the end of the month? I thought it would be some ways off. Have to see about when I can get it.
I really want this game. Love the first!
I down for some warriors action after Wii U gets nothing do we know if this will have MP yet?
Releasing this and Hyrule Warriors 3DS so close together doesn't sound like a good idea...
@MikeW we don't know when HW3D is launching and some people are taking that this leaked "E3" video for HW3D being all in Japanese as confirmation as it being (for now) a Japanese exclusive
@abe_hikura The Wind Waker characters are proof that Hyrule Warriors 3DS won't be Japan exclusive.
@Grumblevolcano how so? Japan is getting EXCLUSIVE hyrule warrior costumes for Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3
Very unlikely Hyrule Warriors will be exclusive to Japan. The game for the Wii U sold far better outside Japan so unless they are eager to screw themselves out of a lot of potential sales then they'll be bringing the game out west. Plus its not like they've been shy about releasing all 100000 Warrior games outside Japan. It'll come, it'll come...
Odd that this isn't up for preorder on Gamestop yet, really the only store I have within 100 miles. Did I miss a memo somewhere on the proper release date?
Why would I get this when I know that Hyrule Warriors 3DS is on its way?
I just might pick it up if the price is not too much.
Something is bothering me about this game, It's been classified in Australia but only for the Playstation Vita not as a multiplatform game...
Wtf! Is this getting a physical release ? I can't find it anywhere to order!
@Kaze_Memaryu I thought the exact same thing while watching this. I'm mildly interested just because Hyrule Warriors on Wii U got me slightly hooked on musou gameplay and this seems like a lot less barebones than what they did for HW (since obviously they tried to make it simple for Zelda fans to enjoy easily). But man does that framerate look bad on every bit of 3DS footage...
I'll personally wait for NL's review on this before I do anything. An eShop demo would've been neat too but not many devs even do that unfortunately.
