UK chart data is now in for the week ending 4th May, revealing that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age's new Switch release has debuted in 15th place.
With no other major releases or sales to speak of, last week's number one Days Gone has managed to hold onto number one despite a 60% decline in sales from last week. On the Nintendo side of things, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still leading the way, narrowly ahead of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe which has regained a couple of places this week.
Here's a look at this week's top twenty all formats chart (physical sales only):

Wasn't the Xbox version of 12 also released?
@Spoony_Tech I thought it was but I can't see the Xbox version on any of the sales charts which seems a little strange: https://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index.jsp
nice to see Mortal Kombat 11 doing well in the UK Chart
@Rob3008 @Spoony_Tech FF12 on XBox is a worldwide digital only release except in USA.
Yeah, that's a shame.
@smashboy2000 That makes more sense.
still waiting for the post man to bring my FF12
Haven’t been on here much recently (got bored of the moaning) so I’m not sure but isn’t that a decent return for Final Fantasy?
@electrolite77 Ahh you've noticed the moaning as well? Isn't it amazing how entertainment creates so much misery? I do think if you read the articles, forget the comments even exist and go on about your business it makes you realise how pointless and irrelevant the moani...I mean opinions are.
@YozenFroghurt
Yeah....I know. It’s a vicious circle I’m in 😁
@WiltonRoots
Maybe that’s the way forward
Is GTA 5 the biggest game of this gen?
@YozenFroghurt It's hard to put my finger on, I suppose there's just a lot of people taking this whole gaming thing far too seriously in here. You just want to tell them to lighten up, but they're so tense, they'd take offence and go on the counterattack straight away.
@Trajan It’s the biggest entertainment product ever in terms of total money made; and will continue as long as buying new copies is the cheapest way to get in game currency.
I wonder if places like GAME & CEX are still accepting second hand copies plus the second hand value must have plummeted.
So most people didn't care for a $50 old port (of a port) from a 3rd party. Again, Shocking.
FFX debuted at #20 and vanished the next week Will all be in the sale bin Soon enough..
Once it falls to $19/$29 sales will pick up,
Why don't these charts show the platforms anymore? Or is that only for JP charts? I honestly like the old narrow list design much better than this needless padding.
@Agramonte I think most people that bought FFXII just got it digitally. That's what I did anyway.
@Trajan
It's got to be the biggest game of all time. I think it has reached 100million sales by now. Crazy!
Hardly surprising as Days Gone is a great game and I've had a great time so far, I was going to pick up Mortal Kombat 11 until I noticed MK XL in my library so I'm just playing that instead. No surprise seeing Final Fantasy that low as it's a very expensive port of a pretty divisive entry in the series
What, pray tell, is Snooker? I don't think I can safely articulate what comes to mind on this website....
@Tyranexx a bit like pool but on a much bigger table and it's a lot more difficult
@carlos82 Hmm....I do enjoy the occasional game of pool, though I'm not the best at it. XD I'll have to look into this more. Thanks for the explanation!
@YozenFroghurt
It’s the relentlessness of the complaints. Endless moaning about ports/old games as if they’re stopping development of new ones and because one person has played something it should never be released again for anyone else, ever. Being portable doesn’t count, it’s a gimmick nobody cares about and screw the historic sales figures of portable systems. If new games come they’re not on the right storage medium or not all on the right storage medium, or they’re better elsewhere, or they cost too much, or they just aren’t the right new games. It’s been too long since a Direct....it wasn’t worth the wait....yes it had lots of new announcements but not the ones I wanted so it was a flop. Switch has no games, even though it actually has loads and has loads of good ones they aren’t the right good ones. The UI is rubbish, it doesn’t have background music, it’s doomed if they don’t release a more powerful one, it’s doomed if it doesn’t get all the same games as it’s not-at-all different competitors etc.etc.
NSMBUDX getting more sales than Smash? What is the UK on!?
Just proves that FFXII is overpriced. I am a buyer @ 29.99, I'll wait this one out for awhile. Still replaying IX.
This june luigis mantion or metroid im hoping...
@electrolite77 It's almost like gaming brings them no joy. If something brings someone no joy, then surely the healthy thing to do is walk away, do something else. Nobody's going to think bad of them because they've suddenly stopped spending 60 hours a week gaming.
@HeroponRiki I am sure all the other games on the top 20 list have also sold well digitally.
This is why we can't have nice things. We are complaining all the time about the third party support of nintendo consoles and when they actually show some support, we just don't buy their games. Brilliant.
Were Final Fantasy X and XII released on Xbox One physically in the UK?? None of them charted among the Top 40 best-selling SKUs or the Top 20 best-selling Xbox One games.
Top 20 best-selling games in April 2019 in Germany (Retail only):
1) Days Gone
2) Anno 1800
3) Yoshi's Crafted World
4) New Super Mario Bros DX
5) Mario Kart 8 DX
6) FIFA 19
7) Super Smash Bros Ultimate
8) Super Mario Party
9) Red Dead Redemption 2
10) Minecraft
11) The Division 2
12) Zelda Breath of the Wild
13) Fallout 76
14) Assassin's Creed Odyssey
15) Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
16) Super Mario Odyssey
17) Mortal Kombat 11
18) Far Cry New Dawn
19) World War Z
20) Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu
There must have been some price activity for Nintendo games (and Fallout 76) because half of the Top 10 best-sellers being Switch exclusives is kinda hard to believe.
