Popping up on the Nintendo Switch eShop this week in Europe, and next week in North America, is Silence, an "emotionally gripping" story which blends serenity and danger.
Before we dive into the technical stuff, here's a quick game description for you to sink your teeth into:
War rages on. During an air raid, 16 year old Noah and his little sister Renie seek shelter in a bunker. There, not only are they protected from the deadly bombardment, but are also at the crossroads of a world between life and death: Silence. When Noah’s sister gets lost in Silence, he is forced to venture into this idyllic yet threatening world to find her.
Silence, however, bears its own scars of war and suffering. Dark creatures haunt towns and cities and ravage this once serene place between worlds. Only a small band of rebels stands against the looming menace. Now it is up to the siblings to save Silence and its fantastic inhabitants from impending doom and thus also save their own lives.
You'll meet interesting characters like Spot along the way, a magical caterpillar who helps Noah and Renie on their way through Silence, and witness the moment when the siblings discover that the only thing that can save them is their love for each other.
If you're in Europe, you can go ahead and pick this one up right now for £35.99 (there's also a physical release); if you're in North America, you'll have to wait for its 11th April release date.

I thought this was announcing Journey for Switch..
I have this on Steam but never got round to playing it. Anyone here got and feedback on this one?
The eshop video for this is one long cinematic, no gameplay whatsoever, and no decent description of the gameplay given either. Buyer beware. Developers - if you expect us to drop £35 on your game without the option for a refund, how about you give us a fair idea what the game is first?
Is it a walking sim, a platformer, an rpg, a 'graphic adventure'? I'm none the wiser.
35,99.. I'd rather pick up some other games for that amount. I'll wait till it someday drops till 20~. Still finding it a hard sell without a demo to get people intrested in the story/gameplay.
Looks interesting... Anyone else have work starting at 5:00 a.m. ?
@AJWolfTill I played it and if you know the more or less official predecessor The Whispered World you'll at least know the tone it takes which is mostly whimsical with a sombre undertone. It's rather short but I did like the atmosphere, the beautiful backgrounds and the music very much. However I would not spend that much money on it, especially thinking that it's a couple of years old at this point. For like 15 €, yeah, go ahead (if you don't already own it) but 40 is way too much.
Beautiful game, but really short.
3 times the price as other consoles so the collectors can have a physical copy. No thank you.
It's a point and click adventure game, for those scrolling down here wondering what the actual gameplay is like.
Yay cutscenes, but how will the game play? Also, I can't help but feel like they could have cut out the mediocre voice acting and charged half the price. This is just me, but I'm of the more extreme mindset that if you can't execute voice acting superbly, then it's best not to at all.
If physical in NA, I'll check with GameFly. With no gameplay trailer, it better butter my toast for that price.
Beautiful artwork in this game, but I'm... still not sure, after reading the synopsis and watching the trailer, what I would actually be doing as the player in this game.
Fact box says "adventure", but that could mean anything these days. :-/
