@johnvboy agreed, it was great, no matter what your preferred genre there was something for everyone but the Mario Kart DLC was the icing on the cake for me.

Mario Kart 8 DLC is great and by the time we get a new Nintendo console in 2024 they’ll be an ‘ultimate’ version ready with all 96 tracks!

Even if it was Goldeneye 64 it’s best to lower your expectations, and I mean really lower them as once you get past the whiff of nostalgia and stop looking at things through rose tinted glasses you’ll realise that time hasn’t been very kind to the game…….stick with the memories.

@Medic_Alert yes, actual release dates as Splatoon, Bayonetta and Breath Of The Wild aren’t set and I imagine they’ll be very late in the year or even next year so there isn’t actually that much set in stone from Nintendo themselves.

We just need a Direct now to keep up the momentum, as apart from Kirby there’s not a whole lot on the horizon.

Possibly the most fun game on the Switch, one of my favourites.

……..alternatively why not release your back catalogue of brilliant games to make money!

Look at the PS3, at the end of its lifecycle it was host to some of the most amazing games, it could’ve carried on for years, there was no need at that point for a PS4 so good on Nintendo I say…….we want more games, not new hardware.

I’m still confident that somewhere down the line someone will uncover some major dirt on him.

Goes to show how up their own backsides they really are by calling this ‘groundbreaking’. Also, crowdfunding again? Despite the popularity and success of Shovel Knight they still can’t find other investors or better yet, fund development themselves?! Seems nobody wants to risk their own cash these days but instead hide behind meaningless phrases like ‘we want to build a community’

@RandomNerds I buy digital too apart from 1st party Nintendo titles. I just don’t agree with their business model, they’ve been established for a long time now yet still want all the cash up front for games that don’t ship for months and months.

There is absolutely no good reason why anyone should be paying full price for any game these days, wether it be physical or digital. Shop around or wait for an inevitable eshop sale.

Growing up with arcades was a great moment in time….when the home computer and arcade gap was immense, we could never have comprehended ‘arcade perfect’ games at home yet here we are in 2022 when that is a reality.
There’s a few arcades left in the UK but very few. I live in Cornwall and even the single arcade in St Ives ( a massive tourist place ) only has a handful of machines now and these are all either sit down racing games or light gun games…..you won’t find Street Fighter 2 there!
I’ve said it many times on here and the whole 8bit / 16bit and arcade era was the greatest time in gaming.

@dil_power probably just me being nostalgic as someone who grew up with the 8bit computers……no arcades, no magazines, no brilliant box art, physical media becoming less important, excitement for new games not spoiled by the internet, the lack of real technical leaps with new consoles, the import scene…I could go on and on but I think about this often and I guess just getting old nullifies that excitement that I once had.

I genuinely believe there’s never been a worse time to be a gamer.

Microsoft are just playing the long game, ultimately leading to a time when they don’t even have a console, where every game is on an app on your tv or phone and you just have a controller.
Nintendo will continue to do what Nintendo always do.
Wouldn’t like to be in Sony’s shoes at the moment as they don’t have anywhere near the financial wallop as Microsoft.

Avoid! The guy who runs it is pathetic. Sell your games on eBay or Facebook marketplace but definitely don’t fund this horrible mans site.

All sorts of games referenced here especially the SFA2 intro, the Mortal Kombat background, the Sagat impersonator etc etc. Looks like Ranma 1/2, Darkstalkers and Pocket Fighter were big influences too.
Hope this reviews well, as 18 quid is a little high for an impulse purchase.

Keep your expectations in check people….all we’ve seen is some pre-rendered footage, no actual gameplay.

To clarify, this petition is for a remake of Mortal Kombat Trilogy, not the original 3 games. Why on earth the article is calling it ‘OG Trilogy’ I’ll never know.

This article was originally published when certain writers on Nintendolife were really pushing their own personal agendas and trying to bring other topics into gaming that had literally zero relevance here. Certain writers on here are definitely more guilty of it than others.
