@RunGMhx I know what you mean, as much as I wanted a new model this doesn’t offer enough for me to justify buying one. Years ago I would’ve been all over it but now my adult voice of reason rationalises things a bit better!

@Clyde_Radcliffe maybe it’s something to do with that whole Nintendo ethos about them concentrating on their own stuff and not getting blindsided with what everyone else is doing? But on the other hand maybe if he did play other stuff it would open his mind a little to using Nintendo characters in different genres.

@scully1888 but this article is using the experience of playing a game as a narrative to their gender and sexual politics. These articles are getting much more common in journalism across every subject and they are often completely made up…..the writer taking an event from their past and using it as a basis for an article for what’s going on in their lives right now. Example, I could be a pilot and write a retrospective article about Pilotwings and say it changed my life and made me want to be a pilot. It’s complete nonsense but it try’s to pull at peoples heart strings and gain emotion from the reader.
It’s just poor, lazy journalism written to fuel the writers own agenda.

@SpringDivorce because the playing area was smaller on the Sega, the graphics had a higher resolution and consequently looked nicer. I love Mercs, it’s one of my favourites.

Easily one of the best Switch games available, once you learn how to play it properly and master all the techniques and nuances it’s sublime.

@VIIIAxel because they're a troll, if you read through many of their comments they constantly contradict themselves about what they play, what they like, what they don’t like. It’s all very sad and shows a huge immaturity, their posts are school ground stuff.

I bought it but just felt it was very average so sold it on eBay. It feels like a game that’s only 75% complete and was rushed out

@Tandy255 exactly, Switch games hold their value incredibly well. I paid £39 for it from Shopto so even with fees I should see around £32 back, it’s a small loss but I got to try the game out.

@DominoHurley there’s no spectators, no little Nintendo Easter eggs, nothing at all. It’s Mario Tennis all over again.

@Clyde_Radcliffe I wanted to enjoy it but it just didn’t grab me, the graphics are great but the courses are so sparse, the music is poor and I felt that after a days play there was little more to offer.

Got my copy delivered yesterday and put about 4-5 hours into it. It’s very mediocre and I’ll unfortunately be listing it on eBay today. Very disappointed.

Brilliant console, I remember leaving my night shift at the Royal Mail and going straight to Dixon’s to wait in line for one ( no preordering nonsense back then ).
Also though, very much a console of its time, the games don’t hold up great these days but I’m happy to have the memories and to have been there at the time.
