Re: Talking Point: Switch Is Nintendo's "Main Business" Right Now, But All Eyes Are On The Horizon

GreenNinja500

We all know we're getting a Switch 2 this year, but it makes sense that Nintendo is going to keep focusing on the current Switch and making sure they're releasing new games to keep people interested in buying their hardware. One key thing Nintendo needs to do is to slowly transition from Switch 1 to Switch 2. Most of their player-base is still going to be on older hardware even after the launch of a new system; so they have to make sure they keep catering to those players with playable games while also giving their players on new hardware extra perks like better performance and visual fidelity.

Re: Poll: How Much Internal Storage Would Be Reasonable For 'Switch 2'?

GreenNinja500

Nintendo is likely going to give us a 512 GB storage option. The only reason I'm saying that is because a lot more AAA games are gonna come to Switch 2 and since we're expecting them to have better graphics, those game files are going to be massive and we'll need as much storage as possible. Also, we can expect the system to support up to a 2TB microSD card and we might can add our own NVMe SSDs into the system.

Re: Talking Point: What Will The 'Switch 2' Actually Be Called?

GreenNinja500

I have a feeling that Nintendo might not use the word "Switch" for their next system, probably to avoid repeating history like what they did with the Wii U. It'll probably be called the Nintendo Focus, Nintendo Edition 9, or somewhere along those lines. If for whatever reason Nintendo wants to keep the Switch name, I have a feeling they may call it the Super Nintendo Switch, a nod to the SNES.

Re: 'Switch 2' Will Be An Iterative Evolution And Will Cost $400, Predicts Analyst

GreenNinja500

I believe we're just a few weeks away from an official announcement. The numerous rumors that have been piling up have give us an idea of what the final version of the Switch 2 is going to have. Also, I don't know how Nintendo is exactly going to market their new console. Like you guys said, it's more of an iteration than a revolution, but what features is it going to make it apart from the current Switch? All the rumors we have gotten is that it'll have a performance upgrade, but is that really the only difference. I hope Nintendo is sure that they're to start production of the Switch 2 and it doesn't repeat history like the Wii U 10 years ago.

Re: Poll: Will There Be A September Nintendo Direct This Year?

GreenNinja500

We are most definitely getting a Nintendo Direct this month. We'll see games like Donkey Kong, Mario-Kart, Super Mario, Metroid Prime 2 & 3 Ports, and possibly even Metroid Prime 4. Also, we can't forget about the Untitled Princess Peach game. I don't believe we'll see any hints and/or announcements of Nintendo's next-gen console but maybe in February 2024.

Re: Marvel's Midnight Suns On Switch "No Longer Planned"

GreenNinja500

I think they were trying to make a native Switch port instead of a cloud version. But the best theory is that the development team weren't able to make a stable and playable version of it. Also, they only said Midnight Suns is not planned on Switch, not on Nintendo systems. So we could see it launch on next-gen hardware in a few months.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For March And April 2023

GreenNinja500

The more I thought about, the Switch could in theory have a life cycle of 10 years. But even though Nintendo can just make more games for the Switch for a few more years to keep selling systems, how long will the actual Switch hardware last? Games are now being designed with more updated game engines, and these engines will run horribly or lose support entirely on older machines. At this point, I believe the Switch won't be able to handle next-gen titles and it's making me question whether the glitching issues in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet were due to cheap game development, or simply the Switch wasn't powerful enough to handle it. In short, I think Nintendo's promise for a decade-long support of games for the Nintendo Switch might not happen, and they should just accept that and make a system. But this doesn't mean they have to scrap the Switch entirely. Make a new console has the same portability and design as the Switch, but with more horsepower to play all the PS5 and Series X|S next-gen titles.
