Everyone's talking about d*** bricks and curse coins, I'm just wondering what sort of jerkwads are going to report levels that are too hard or they simply don't like.
@Morpheel Precisely what I was thinking. They most often unlock clothes and skins. Seems right up this game's alley, but I'm okay with this news. Doesn't bother me at all.
In a way, it's even more inclusive and forward-thinking than anyone seems to realise. You can literally cross-dress, letting Link wear dresses or girly catsuits freely whilst adventuring. It's not even made into a joke, like in Final Fantasy VII. He can just do it.
I get the feeling that if there were a gender option, certain clothing items would be limited to whichever gender. Anyone else seeing the potential this has for helping gender-neutral kids deal with related identity issues?
Maybe I'll buy physical on 3DS, since I already have it on Wii U? Although I'm glad I played and beat it from its initial release, I kinda wish I'd have known that it would come out like this, since I always prefer a physical version.
@Kosmo Well, to be fair, it is giving more than any game in the Butoden series before it. The first one had, like, eight, and even Hyper Dimension had only ten. We're getting double, so not bad, when you look at it this way. Heck, it's only three less than the original Budokai's full roster.
From what I can tell, the playable characters this time are Goku, Vegeta, young Gohan, adult Gohan, Gotenks, Future Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18, Cell, Frieza, Captain Ginyu, Raditz, Nappa, Bardock, Broly, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, and Beerus. Assuming Super Saiyan God Goku is a separate character slot, that makes twenty. While I could do without God Goku and Beerus (rather have Tien Shinhan or Vegito than either of them), that's still a decent lineup. Plus, that's not taking into account the special characters like Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta that may or may not make their way into our version of the game.
Sure, it's not Xenoverse numbers, but to be honest, that level of character availability kinda bothers me. I mean, there's no real, proper balance when you have characters like Mr. Satan and no-name Frieza henchmen. I prefer a somewhat more modest character roster, myself; like for instance, I'll play Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown over Tekken Tag Tournament 2 any day.
Sheer numbers don't impress me nearly so much as finely tuned mechanics. Of course, if Extreme Butoden is poorly balanced, then my argument means jack squat, but whatever, I'm buying the game, anyway.
"My vision of Mario has always been that he's sort of representative of everyone. He's kind of a blue-collar hero. And so that's why we chose these roles for him that were things like carpenters and plumbers."
Okay, cool. So can you please stop making him so effin' perfect, then?
@BooJoh Yeah, I agree that he's probably talking about New XL models/bundles. Which is awesome. I'm all about the XL for my absurdly sized hands, and couldn't care less about the faceplates.
I honestly don't know how difficult it is to do a System Transfer, but a fancy New XL bundle might do the trick in getting me to give it a shot. Plus, my current 3DS is slowly losing its R Button.
Surprised that Xenoblade has more votes than Star Fox or Mario Maker, though that's a good sign for the game itself.
I actually voted for Devil's Third, as I rightly assumed that it'd be the least voted among the five I'm so eagerly anticipating: Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade, Star Fox, and of course, Mario Maker.

My first reaction to Super Mario Strikers was amazement at how vicious and angry everyone was, so I guess this must have been really extreme.

That sounds like Iwata saying "Bandai-Namco" at the end, there.
I guess the takeaway here is that Frieza would wear a bowtie.

Oh, my god, with the tilting. At least in the skydivey, jumpy, bouncy game, it makes sense. Tilting seems pointless in the penguin one.
