Capcom has a host of brand new Monster Hunter goodness on Switch. Monster Hunter Rise combines classic elements of the series with newer conveniences that enable you to traverse the environments quicker and with a touch more style. It's running on Capcom's RE Engine and you can read our review right now (spoilers — we were impressed!).
Monster Hunter Rise is now out (it released on 26th March). If like us you're ready to go battle some beasties, you may well want to grab the game over the launch period and we're here to help find the best Monster Hunter Rise deals.
Also launching alongside the game are three amiibo: Palamute, a dog companion which you can ride around on during hunts; Palico, a cat-like combat companion; and Magnamalo, the flagship monster introduced in this latest instalment of the Monster Hunter series. Each amiibo will unlock special armour within the game and grant players with access to a daily lottery for further prizes. You can find out where to buy them all below.
There's also the gorgeous Monster Hunter Rise Switch console and Pro Controller if you take your monster hunting really seriously. Definitely don't click on that last link — you'll end up with another Switch in your gaming collection!

At the time of writing, pre-orders of the individual amiibo are not up in North America or Europe — we'll update this article when they become available. However you can place a pre-order for the Japanese versions today from Play Asia (see below).

Similarly to the UK, the Magnamalo amiibo is currently available as part of the chunky Collector's Edition of the game and GameStop have the individual amiibo on their site (although readers outside the US won't be able to even see the pages thanks to GameStop's geo-locking).
We'll update when the individual figures go up for pre-order at other retailers.

Play Asia is stocking the individual amiibo — we'll update as alternatives become available, but here are the current options for Europeans if you just can't wait.

@Northwind We've added those in. GS geo-locks IP addresses unfortunately, but they should be viewable if you're in the US.
So Gamestop is up for the United States. In typical Gamestop fashion they managed to bumble something and upset people...
The amiibo are priced at $19.99, $19.99, and $24,99. GameStop’s website is only allowing shipping, no in store pickup for these. Shipping is $5.99 regular or $10.00 for release day delivery. EACH. Yes you heard that right. EACH. If I have all three amiibo in my cart it’s forcing me to pay three shipping charges. So $17.97 to ship all three, or $30.00 if I dare want these on release day along side the game.
Sigh. When people call for Gamestop to go out of business, it’s based on shady ass business practices like this. Can’t believe Nintendo would give the US exclusive to Gamestop for these amiibo. 🤷♂️
I'm getting the deluxe with the dlc and amiibo. Might give in and pre-order the palamute too. So adorable.
Yeah I don't know how or why the shipping is seperate. If they come in one box im contacting corporate. If I order multiple things from a store and they ship seperatly I still only pay one shipping fee? They know they aren't lasting long and are trying to squeeze as much money out of the consumer as possible
I so wish there were links for stores in Germany included here 😭 really want the Magnamalo amiibo
Is the deluxe edition available in the UK or just the standard editon? i don't care about amiibos just want the game. Think i saw the game for £45 on the game collection website
Not sure if you get the Palico/palimute pre-order bonus if you buy a hard copy?
@Primarina no fight at all, just a discussion. I appreciate that some people love Gamestop and are absolutely entitled to. I have (many) reasons why I don’t care for the store based on experiences I’ve had as a customer. I also work in sales, by the way, so I am acutely aware that customers can be difficult and entitled, but multiple of the experiences I’ve had shopping at GameStop wouldn’t even pass the most basic level of customer service expected at a flee market in a third world country.
As for charging shipping for each item separately, for a total of $18...come on now. This is 2020, retailers are competing with each other to catch every customer they can to stay in business and out here is Gamestop charging $18 for shipping? Or $30 for the luxury of release day delivery. Best Buy and Target deliver my video games on release day....for free!
I don’t want to see Gamestop go out of business any more than I did Toys R Us or Borders Books, etc. Speciality stores offer a unique shopping experience that is unfortunate to loose. But I also won’t be sad if they do because their business practices and terrible customer service are doing it to themselves.
Still nothing in Canada. I keep checking Ebgames' website but MHRise is nowhere to be found so the amiibos aren't there either.
@Ks123 not sure if something changed but I preordered and paid for mine at my local gamestop. Have you gone in store yet?
@Yrreiht I was able to preorder rise on Amazon Canada for $10 off (pricing error). Still hoping to get the collectors edition though, but got this just in case we don’t get the collectors edition, or if the price is more then the base game plus the magnemalo amiibo.
@Sky1Eagle1 Not holding my breath for a collector's edition in Canada. It'd be really cool though.
Still not a fan of the flagship just being a repainted Vajra.
I think I will wait until it’s out and get the 10% discount.
@Ks123 you can side step this if you order a game over $35 in the the same order - still, i hate gamestop so much
@Dang69 so the irony of this is that the product listing pages for each of the amiibo state they qualify for free shipping over $35...not only does your checkout cart not honor the free shipping over $35, they charge you 3x the shipping. lmfao Gamestop for the win.
<wish I could include a screen shot here>
@Ks123 Oh I know that - pretty mad about it, just another gross fomo Gamestop tactic to squeeze more money out of you - but if you toss another game in the cart that is over $35, it will give you free shipping on the amiibo. I've encountered this before with...RESTOCK PREORDERS OF AMIIBO. Seriously. RESTOCK PREORDERS, lol.
@Dang69 ugh that’s a good point, I could just throw a game in for the free shipping and then return it. It stinks that you have to play games like that to beat Gamestop at its own game.
@Dang69 Okay, so I'm trying to do the strat, but it's not working. The 3 Monster Hunter amiibo in the cart, plus a game worth over $35 (Mario 3D All Stars) and shipping still seems to be calculated as usual.
The $6 "Premium shipping" per amiibo is there, plus the $5 "Everyday shipping" for the game, with a $5 dollar "discount" listed below the total shipping and handling cost.
Looks like the exploit has been patched, or at least not working for me (Windows-Firefox)
Managed to get the CE.
Super excited for this. Capcom did a great job supporting MH:World. Hopefully this will be the same.
Guess l have to spend 70$ for this game so l can have it half completed
@Kryzeth Ok this is weird. I haven't ordered them yet. BUT the other day I added Prinny 1+2 to a cart and it gave me free shipping for everything, in the bar on the right. The reason I didn't order it was because THEY ONLY have the $60 version of Prinny not the $40 one. So I figured I'd just think of something else later to preorder alongside the amiibo. Right now I tried adding Pikmin in the cart with the amiibo and it didn't work for free amiibo shipping, just the game. I removed Pikmin and added Disgaea 4, now I have free amiibo shipping (I'm testing this as I'm typing now). Just removed D4 and added Age of Calamity, no free amiibo shipping. Removed Calamity and added Zelda BotW and have free amiibo shipping. Removed BotW and added Ryza 2, no free amiibo shipping. So it looks like adding another preorder game doesn't give free amiibo shipping, but a previously released game does. The weird thing is, when I messaged you, Prinny was coming out the next day, and wasn't released yet. I hate Gamestop so much dude. Effing garbage company, carrying on the legacy of their Xenoblade wii fiasco.
@Dang69 Wtfff, we literally preordered Prinny 1+2 collection from Gamestop just the day before and got free shippping on that (despite being a preorder, and being the only place to have the special edition in stock). If only I had known it would get me free shipping on the MH amiibo... would have saved 20 bucks -.-
@Kryzeth So weird - when I typed that comment to you on Monday I literally had Prinny sitting in my cart, but did the opposite thing you did, because I didn't think I wanted all the extra stuff in it for 20 more bucks. Is the art book cool? I couldnt find many preview pages for it. I love all the character designs in the Disgaea world...kind of a more recent convert thru D1 and D5.
@Dang69 It's actually a birthday gift for later this month, so I can't actually open it yet... The preview image on the site showed a character from one of the later games I'm not familiar with, though it did also mention the actual art may be different, soo...
@Kryzeth NIS stuff always says that - wouldn't be too worried if you liked what ya saw - I have a couple Atelier boxsets and they're quality...maybe I will just plunker down an extra couple bucks for this version.
I just realized the Deluxe edition has a different box art
Also at Walmart it's not 59 for me. Walmart is so nice for charging less money for games.
I preordered the Collector’s Edition months ago along with the Palamute & Palico amiibos. I can’t wait for March 26th to get here!
Dumb question but the whole base game is on the cartridge right?
Difference between the normal and deluxe edition?
@Zuljaras Not a dumb question at all since it is the habit of many publishers to save cost with an undersized cart and force us to download the rest of the game after purchase.
Unfortunately, I don't know the answer.
@Zuljaras Nintendo Everything has the Download size as 8.8gb, it depends if Capcom want to cough up for the 16gb carts for less than 1gb of extra data.
@Ks123 They do that garbage with all their preorders. Which means they get nothing from me.
I love all things Monster Hunter but I'm sticking with the base game only.
I'm not interested in Monster Hunter but new Amiibo is always cool... Palico do look cute tho
Can they do the Three Amiibo Salute?
No Australian places listed? Like come on, we play games too! Would love to know where the best price for them are!
Don't try to order those amiibo unless you are willing to pay extra $$$. Every amiibo added to cart has each own shipping charges. All 3 will set you back about $100 USD GameStop is Scammers
They're not available on Gamestop, Amazon, or Best Buy at all anymore. UGH. I've got all the amiibo, even the Stories one, but these? ugh.
Still interested in the Magnamalo amiibo.
Still nto interested in paying $25 for it. $20 for Guardian was my upper limit. The articulated arms are cool, I change the pose occasionally. Even if this is bigger than that, it may be worth it, but I still don't want to pay $25 for a toy just to sit on my shelf.
If the toy unlocked a ridable version of itself in BotW 2, like Wolf link did w/ the sidekick wolf in the first game, I would seriously consider it, that would be way cool.
that boxart is not my favorite, something looks off about it...
Preordered that collectors addition and the amiibos the day they went up for preorders..phewww
Awesome, just preordered the Palico/Palamute amiibo off Nintendo UK Store (getting the Collector's Edition from Amazon as well).
Huge thanks to the nintendolife crew for notifying us that the individual amiibos have gone up on the Nintendo online store in the UK. Got them pre-ordered.
I don't want to pay $32 and accept the emissions costs of ordering from PlayAsia. I'll wait for release date and gamble on their availability at the Nintendo NY store.
That Magnamalo amiibo is just too much of the good price wise, I mean locally the standard edtion is 55 euro in my country, LE is at least 99 euro.
So 45 euro for the amiibo, and some other not interesting stuff? No artbook, no soundtrack for that extra amount is a shame, especially because I have gotten cheaper CEs that had such stuff.
I skip the amiibo and get the regular copy instead, and I won't get the amiibo because no store is going to sell them here for a normal price, and the imported "UK" price is even worse (2 stores are going to import them, but 33 euro for a amiibo is a no go)
@PlayedNSlayed There is no physical deluxe edition in EU (there is in the US).
Only standard and collectors edtion, deluxe is digital only unless you get the CE.
Once again, the US selections are the L-A-M-E-S-T of all
I genuinely think the amiibo look awful, but the game looks amazing I'm getting it day one!
Oh wow, I just had to make an account here to thank you! I spotted the update with the UK store about 15 minutes ago and jumped on all three immediately. I'm glad I did because when I went back to the store page the palico and the palamute were sold out! I've waited and watched for weeks for these things, I'd be screaming if I missed them and had to buy the massively inflated prices on ebay if anything... So thank you!
Holy jeez! Now the BASE PRICE is 20?! That's just great. Scalpers already sold them for 20 so now it's gonna even more ridiculous
And Palico and Palamute are sold out. I'm so pissed at this *****!!!
@MindfulGamer The whole time reading this article and comments, I've got the song from the movie going in my head...
We are the three amiibo, we are three a-amiibo, we are the three a-aaaaaaaamiibo, and amiibo forever we'll be
Got mine on lock. I want the procon but I’m hunting Zelda preorders first. Need those joycon.
Woah. They sold out so fast! Good thing these are some of the only amiibo I'm not bothered about. I'd have been furious if I wanted them. I didn't get an Email about it, and I usually do when amiibo go on preorder...
Still waiting for you guys to mention where to buy for Australian players. One of these days you'll remember we exist.
@Mountain_Man the assumption is that it is, it's rare the MH teams don't put everything on the cart. Only thing that'll be missing is all the free DLC they'll be dropping like they always do. And possibly G rank which always gets added later due to extending the games life so the other team has more time to polish up what they're working on.
@Mr-Fuggles777 they probably will since it was Capcom that asked Nintendo before the switchs release to bump up it's ram.
@Jimmy_G_Buckets you get lots of free dlc in the games life time anyway so even getting the bog standard edition isn't an issue.
@rjejr i think they're only put layered armour on them because they know not everyone will buy them and it means if you don't you're not missing out on much. (You can get the armour set the standard way typically anyway, its the fact this one can be worn over another set) the MH team don't force you to purchase a deluxe edition/extra bits because the items are going to affect the game in huge ways or anything. It's 100% cosmetic and I like that it's not needed to enjoy the experience.
Hype hype hype! Pre order quick! Still can’t believe your silly hype article 😆hypocrites 🤦🏼
I'm keen on the amiibo, but I'll probably pass on the game. I have Generations Ultimate, but I also have the 3DS games (except Stories) and I am in no hurry to play them. I have resigned myself to the fact that I probably never will.
I did play and enjoy a bit of 3 Ultimate on 3DS and Wii U, but that was years ago, and I can't see myself revisiting them any time soon.
Between the special edition, pro controller and additional amiibo, this game is costing me just shy of £200... money>sense
@Meikahidenori knifey-spoony?
@GammaPhonic just saying it'd be nice that's all. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see where I could get a better deal than the utter rip off EB games is here.
After reading some comments above about Gamestop, I am quite shocked to see that you need to pay extra for release date delivery! Don't they receive the stock early enough to be able to send it with a standard-delivery option so customers can receive it on time? For example, I am in UK and when I pre-ordered SM3D All-Stars, they sent it with FREE delivery via Royal Mail 48 (2 day delivery) which is fine because they sent it on Wednesday so that I could receive it on time! Or if I got it from GAME, then I would of had to pay a small fee for delivery but at least it's not any extra for release date!
The Nintendo UK Store has the Monster Hunter Rise amiibo back up for pre-order for anyone interested.
I want to be able to order the collector's edition and Best Buy still has it at "coming soon." Grr
Already pre-ordered it digitally... Ready for the hunt!
I think I just preordered a copy with two keychains and a steel book for £39.99 on Amazon UK...
Seems like a mistake, so who knows what will happen. I went on the deluxe edition which was currently unavailable and just changed it to the steel book version which let me preorder it. For £39.99? I hope so! I'll comment again when they cancel it 😂
Amazon price is correct.
The base game + keychains + steelbook are currently £35 on Shopto.
I NEED all three but I'm gussing scalpers are going to get them first.
I know at my local game stop, with amibo all the employees take them first and depending on if there are any left they may put them out. When Mario 3D world came out they all took but Mario and princess cat amibos they didn’t show up in store to buy until 3 days ago.
£34 MHR + Steelbook + Keyrings

Just so you know - scalpers, playasia, etc. are just buying from amazon JP and reselling them to you guys. I preordered mine from amazon JP and it will arrive tomorrow. They are only like $13 on amazon JP with a limit 1 per customer, and like $20 shipping and customs fee. So playasia and ebay are still making $20-$30 a pop from reselling them to you. It's sad so many people are bad at using the internet and pay $60 for a $13 amiibo that has never once sold out on amazon jp this entire time. I guess if you cant figure out amazon jp you deserve to be scalped.... hope this helped someone be less "special".
So I guess they are out of stock for good in Europe?
