I'd say that's a new game like the Spyro remake or original Mafia remake. When you take an old game and just run it thru an emulator on console, that shouldn't cost $30. Also, apparently the new game sucks so I'm not get that either.
Just as a side note, I have both of the Dark Alliance games on PS2 and they still look great on my Phat BC PS3 over HDMI. So if they put out a bundle at some point on Switch with both games on sale for $20, I'd think about it.
At the end of the trailer, you see they still want to sell the Old Switch, New OLED, and Lite. This is very confusing. The OLED screen should have gone in the Lite, because that screen actually matters. The new 'Pro' model (marketed to older PS and Xbox types) should have had the overclocked Tegra chip and 4K checkerboard upscaling for cleaner docked performance. Nintendo product line is a bit of a mess now and most people are just going to wait for the eventual Switch 2.
MS declared a truce w/ Nintendo when MS had bottomed out. During this time, they released a few good MS games on Switch. Then MS fortunes began to brighten and they cut off this cooperation. Phil Spenser got annoyed because his interviews questions were all about the Switch. I don't see more deals between them now, because neither MS or Nintendo really think they need each other anymore.
Sony & Nintendo probably compose 70% of the video game market. So Bethesda just eliminated themselves from any kind of leadership position in the industry. Oh, and games that are made from Day One to be given away, usually suck. There's no incentive to create a master work over years and then give it away. Look at the new Halo, it will be crap and everyone will says that's OK because it was free on GamePass.

Re: Arcade Classic Raiden Is Coming To Nintendo Switch Next Week
What we need is a Raiden Collection of all the arcade games.
Re: Taito Milestones Is A Collection Of Arcade Archives Titles Heading To Switch
Problem w/ these modern collections is that they're not better than PS2 era.
The Capcom, Taito, and Sega sets were bigger and better back then.
Re: 16-Bit Cult Classic Valis Is Getting Rebooted On Nintendo Switch
Hope it's cheaper than the pricey Grandia 1&2 bundle ($40).
Re: There's A Zelda Game & Watch Coming This Christmas
I still see the Mario one around, they didn't seem to sell that fast.
Maybe the Link unit will go faster or maybe they'll make few units.
Re: Nintendo Asks That You Don't Co-Stream The E3 2021 Nintendo Direct, Thanks Very Much
Another day, another Nintendo Big Brother move.
Re: Diablo II: Resurrected Unleashes Hell On Switch This September
I hope this is physical...
Re: Random: This Kid Tried To Sell His Prized Pokémon Card Collection To Save A Sick Puppy
There alot of people scamming money online thru medical stories.
Most are true and heartbreaking, but some are just grifters who exploit.
Either way, I'm glad the dog is OK and that the kid didn't sell his cards.
Re: Review: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - A Punishing But Pleasurable Vintage Dungeon Crawler
The price is the real issue. Old games shouldn't cost this much.
On PS3 you can buy PS2 games for $9.99, I just bought Grandia III.
You even get a color scan of the original manual, which has some nice art.
I'm saving my money for the new Dark Alliance game.
Re: UK Charts: Miitopia Gets Off To A Cracking Start With A Second-Place Debut
'Full-Price Port' used to be a joke. Now they are trying to charge more!
This game cost less on 3DS and I think Skyward Sword cost less on Wii.
My son played and loved both games but at these prices, no thanks.
Re: Rumour: Genshin Impact For Switch Reportedly Delayed Due To "Weaker Hardware"
That's some serious "bull$hit".
I hope they "take a really nice trip".
And then "land safely".
Re: Review: Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster - The Best Version Of An Ageing Classic
Since the review mentioned PS3...
Do digital PS2 Classics have a scan of the manual like PS1 Classics?
Never bought a PS2 Classic yet, because physical was still affordable (not anymore).
Re: Hardware Review: RetroN Sq - An Affordable Way To Play The Entire Game Boy Library On Your Big Screen TV
I have a GB Player for GameCube, do I need this?
Re: The Epic Vs Apple Lawsuit Might Have Revealed Phil Spencer's Nintendo Secret
Endless 'news' stories I have grown to hate:
Re: Talking Point: Do You Miss Instruction Manuals?
When I saw that Hades had an art book, I bought it immediately.
Cyberpunk had alot of stuff inside, so I wanted a new complete copy too.
Or even just interior artwork, like 3D All-Stars, is better than nothing.
But most games have nothing, so I'm in no rush to get them...
Re: Soapbox: 'I'll Play It On Game Pass' Is Becoming Common, But Does That Affect Switch eShop?
Wow, now we're getting GamePass articles on NintendoLife?

Looking forward to my first D2 play through.
Re: Review: Arcade Archives Haunted Castle - The Worst Castlevania? Quite Possibly
I wondering if there are Operator Settings that could be used to make the game more playable (extra lives, enemy limits).
Re: The Absolute Worst Castlevania Is Coming To Arcade Archives On Switch
I was playing this in the Arcade Collection recently.
It's insanely hard and super cheap. Those bats!
There may be operator settings to add life's and lower difficulty...
Re: Review: Stubbs The Zombie In Rebel Without A Pulse - A "Cult Classic" That Has Aged Like Milk
MS should have just quietly added original game to BC.
Then you could just play off disc or download it new.
Xbox Retro fans would have celebrated original game, warts & all.
But doing a zero-effort, multiplatform port just damages it.
Now this looks like a lazy cash-grab that no one asked for...

Re: Talking Point: Here's Why You Shouldn't Be Worried About The Rumoured Switch Pro's 720p Screen
Wasn't the New 3DS a failure?
Only a handful of games required it.
I'd be surprised if Nintendo repeat that mistake.
Re: Blizzard's Diablo II Remaster Will Support Your Old Save Files
I'm getting ready for D2 Resurrected...
By playing an HD port of D1, the Belzebub Mod.
You still need your D1 PC CD, but it looks very nice now.
They also added new sets and elite monsters to spice things up.
Re: Review: Blizzard Arcade Collection - Dig Into The Vaults Of The Creator Of Warcraft And Overwatch
After the Rare collection, this release seems like a punch-line.
Maybe they should have quietly released these separately.
I love modern Blizzard, but this seems a bit arrogant & goofy.
Two or three games doesn't really equal a notable body of work.
Re: "Several" Square Enix Remakes Are In Development At Polish Studio Forever Entertainment
Don't they have to finish Panzer Dragoon 2?
Re: Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake Takes Flight This Year
I was glad to get the first game for only $7.
I really didn't think it would get that cheap.
I probably would have paid more for physical though.
Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Tops "Best Seller" Chart On Amazon, As Pre-Orders Sell Out
This isn't a Wii U port and it shouldn't be $60.
At least the 3D Mario collection had three full games...
Re: Zelda Remake Specialist Grezzo Appears To Have Helped Out With Miitopia's Nintendo Switch Port
This remaster/port is a $50 travesty.
We should be getting a full sequel on Switch.
Whole Direct seemed to highlight Nintendo's overpriced rehashing.
Maybe they're on the bubble waiting for new hardware to be ready?
Re: Hardware Review: The Retro-Bit Prism HD Is Another Great GameCube HDMI Adapter
Has anyone compared this type of solution to using a Wii?
The Wii can run GC thru component video (R,B,G) at 480p.
That seems like an easier way to do good A/V for GC games at a decent price.
Otherwise, you have to find early GC w/ progressive video port & then HDMI converter.
Wii consoles & component cables should still be pretty cheap (unlike all things GC now).
Re: Lost WiiWare Title Space Invaders Get Even Could Come To Switch If There's Enough Demand
Many WiiWare games are now lost:
Konami Rebirth Series: Contra, Castlevania, and Gradius.
I wanted to play them in Dolphin Emu, but no one has them for download.
Re: Reggie Admits Switch Was A "Make Or Break Product" For Nintendo After Poor Performance Of Wii U
I'm a big fan of the Wii U and I prefer it to the Switch.
But that might be because I don't care about portability.
The Wii U was quirky & had it's own personality with Miis & Miiverse.
Remember how all the Miis would run out to celebrate your birthday?
NintendoLand was the best system pack-in of all time, IMHO.
Mario Party 10 was a blast to play and uses the Gamepad well.
Mario Party Switch is genetic, boring, and safe (like Nintendo now).
Nintendo is successful, but they gave up on what made them unique.
I have some issues with Sony in this department as well...
Re: Physical Version Of Kingdoms of Amalur For Switch Includes The "Full Game" On Cartridge
The one that's not on the cartridge isn't out yet...
They're making one new DLC, which is unusual for a remaster.
Re: Capcom's Switch And 3DS January Sale Is Now Live In North America
Too bad the Beat'Em Up Bundle didn't hit $5 sweet spot...
I got spoiled by the recent Konami $5 retro sale (Castlevania, Contra).
Re: After Four Years Away, The Man Behind Devil's Third Is Ready To Make Another Video Game
Surprised we don't already have a Switch port yet.
The game is so expensive on Wii U due to low print run.
Re: Bravely Default II Producer Was Both "Ashamed" And "Relieved" By Player Feedback To Demo
This is why I fear game development shifting more to the West...
Would CDPR be ashamed & embarrassed by the Cyberpunk debacle?
Nope, they just dump out a broken game & fix it eventually by 2022 after huge cash grab.
Re: Review: WRITHE - A Nintendo 64-Style Budget Blaster That Needs More Work
If they were going for the N64 shooter vibe...
The 30fps w/ better graphics could be called 'Expansion Pak' Mode.

Ring Fit Adventure 2
That would be better than tacked on mini-games...

But he could still have another 20 years.
Re: The New Howling Peaks DLC For Minecraft Dungeons Is Out Now
I didn't realize the Switch port was laggy, it's such a simple game.
I bought the Xbox version, because that just made more sense for me.
It's a fun game to play in couch co-op, but the DLC levels are way too long.
The base game had perfect levels, not too long...not too short.
Re: 3DS System Update 11.14.0-46 Is Now Live
First, Nintendo and now Sony too.
The future is 2D only and that's really sad.
RIP 3DS...RIP PSVR
