I watched the video, but was almost immediately disappointed by the fact that it wasn't a GameCube and doesn't play discs. If you're going to 'make something a reality', then does doing something completely different count? Portable systems can use optical drives, Sony did it almost 20 years ago with PSP.
I had the misfortune of watching the whole video last night. The douchebag with phone can't seem to focus half the time. He brags the whole time and says he's 'not going to tell' where the games came from. This is the kind of hipster parasite that has latched onto retro gaming in recent years. Why should we celebrate these guys for scooping up old games and flipping them for thousands $$$ per title. I think the whole thing is disgusting...
I hope Sony is paying close attention to Nintendo's mistakes here. If you turn people off at launch, it's almost impossible to get them to reconsider later. First impessions count more.
Not to condone harassment, but these are the jokers who said they're "enjoying the scrutiny". I'm sick and tired of criminally broken games released to the public as a quick cash grab. I doubt anyone will ever trust CDPR or Rockstar again, I hope the Day One sales were worth it...
Apparently, they used AI to upscale the character models. Without ample QC, this can result in some very strange appearances. Could be why the review embargo was so harsh.
I would look for Nintendo to slow walk any plans for another system. They are running out the clock, before they release a more beefy Switch 2 which will be all-digital and only partially backwards compatible with old Switch games (no more cartridges and new eshop would only host the digital games that currently work on BC).
Thanks to the Cotton Collection, there is now a viable Saturn emulator on Switch. Too bad Sega didn't sweeten the pot with some games on NSO that people actually wanted.
MS and Sony have been typically willing to turn tail after a blunder, but I doubt Nintendo is that self-aware. They'll stick with $50 and fleece the suckers.
Probably Balan Wonderland, I knew game was bad but I was still curious. Got a new copy for $28 on PS4. I though co-op would be fun, but it's basically broken. Game is just weird and nothing is explained. I think they gave up on it and a proper tutorial would have just made the localization more time consuming. But the game does look and sound good, and the carnival vibe is strangely alluring.
I'm playing on Xbox One S with my son. It's a little janky there, but apparently much better than Switch. Buying games like Dungeons, Ori, or Cuphead on other systems would hurt my brain too much due to blaring "Xbox Games" boot logo.
Anyway we like the game alot, despite many bad design choices: DLC levels are too long to replay, Ancient Hunt gear offerings are a pain, and Raid Captain banners make levels unplayable. We play anyway, despite the issues, but I hope they keep refining the experience.

Re: Random: Reggie Fils-Aimé Doesn't Think Much Of Facebook's Metaverse
3D failed to go mainstream because no one wanted to wear tiny glasses...
VR failed to go mainstream because no one wanted to wear a big helmet...
Now we're supposed to believe that people will live in a helmet all day? That's crazy.
Re: Here's A First Look At The House Of The Dead: Remake Physical Switch Release
Physical looks great, but many suspect the game won't play well...
Switch gyro doesn't cut it, due to constant need for recalibration (Skyward Sword).
Also, they said we were getting 1&2, now it's just one. That a 100% markup now.
Re: Tempest 4000 Brings Its Neon Insanity To Switch This Spring
I got this on Xbox at Half-Price Books for $7 as a sealed markdown.
The PS4 copies sold faster for around $14, from what I recall.
The problem with Nintendo is they often get really old ports that are dirt cheap elsewhere.
Re: Microsoft 'Close' To Sacking Senior Dev Who Assaulted 7-Year-Old Son For Refusing To Stop Playing His Switch
Unlawful assault? There's a legal assault on a child?
Also, odd that someone in the game biz would flip-out over a kid playing a Switch.

Re: Chrono Cross Is Getting A Remaster, And Boy Does It Look Rough
Shouldn't this be a collection with the whole series?
Without the first game, this feels really odd...
Re: Take-Two Says GTA Trilogy "Significantly Exceeded" Sales Expectations Despite "Quality Lapse"
The good numbers they got were probably just pre-orders...
I see this game everywhere and people aren't buying due to bad reviews.
After Cyberpunk, people started looking closer and they were already skeptical about GTA.
Re: PlatinumGames' Sol Cresta Is Receiving A Limited Run Physical Release On Switch
I remember the old arcade game...I can't imagine what this new game will be.
Re: Cruis'n Blast Gets A Permanent Price Cut On The Switch eShop, Now Only $19.99
Great game...Most Walmarts still have physical for around $30.
Re: It Looks Like Nvidia Is Abandoning Its $40 Billion Purchase Of British Chip Designer Arm
I wonder if the Activision deal will get blocked too.
That's why Phil is suddenly promising CoD to everyone...
Re: Kingdom Hearts Cloud Collection Arrives On Switch In February, Pricing Revealed
I hope developers, publishers, and platform-holders are reading this avalanche of feedback.
We don't want lazy cloud gaming on outdated hardware, just make a new Switch already.
Re: Talking Point: How Does Microsoft's Purchase Of Activision Blizzard Impact Nintendo?
Feels like a new Iron Curtain is falling over the game industry.
Walled and fortified fiefdoms are being carved out and fought over.
Subscription services are being marketed to reduce physical game ownership.
Later on, we may not have any physical games at all. I'm not a fan of any of this.
Reducing the amount of 3rd Party Studios doing multi-plats doesn't help gamers.
Re: The Legend Of Heroes: Trails From Zero Is Getting A 'Limited Edition' Physical Release On Switch
Trails in the Sky series for modern consoles please...
Just making some of the games randomly available is maddening.
Re: Feature: "I Feel Like All Of The Emotion I Have Held For 'The World Ends With You' Has Been Released Through This Latest Game"
I picked up a copy on sale before Christmas.
Once this gets clearanced (Neo or BD2), copies will evaporate.
Alliance Alive got clearanced and two days later they were $100 on eBay.

Re: Bravely Default Producer Tells Fans To Look Forward To Next Year's Anniversary
I've yet to see this game at anything other than full price.
Wait, thanks to BF magic the game is suddenly $26 at Gamestop.
Re: Deals: Grab 60% Off Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, And More Switch Games With GameStop's Black Friday Deals (US)

Re: Feature: Our Verdict On Mario Golf: Super Rush's Version 4.0 Update - The Final New Characters, Courses And Modes
Wonder if Nintendo is updating the version shipped on the cart yet?
Maybe someday the whole game will be on a cart....
Re: Grand Theft Auto Trilogy's Nintendo Switch Update Is Now Available, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
I believe most of these huge patch lists are basically just PR BS.
People have checked into these specific bugs and nothing has changed.
They are just trying to calm people down and avoid massive refunds.
This patch list is mostly aspirational, like an IOU from junkie gambler.

Welcome to CyberHell 2077.
It'll be fixed someday.....
Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Calls For Industry-Wide Support Of Game Preservation Via Emulation
But Xbox just terminated it's BC program...no more games will be added.
Calling for preservation now is completely two-faced, is he endorsing piracy?
Re: Phil Spencer: Elder Scrolls 6's Xbox Exclusivity Isn't About "Punishing" Other Platforms
His statement is a random word salad...
Just admit you buy developers and publishers for the exclusives.
Just own it.
Re: Modders Have Already "Fixed" Some Rain Issues In The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy
I'm not even going to think about this till it's fixed and physical.
But it's not looking good and they already delisted the PS2 digital versions.
This is developing into another Cyberpunk debacle...which is really tragic.

Re: Talking Point: Will Nintendo Abandon The Switch Concept For Its Next Console?
I would look for Nintendo to slow walk any plans for another system. Re: BloodRayne 1 And 2 ReVamped Trailer And File Size Revealed
They missed the boat and should have got this out for Halloween...
Re: Talking Point: Five Years On From The Frenzy Of 'NX' Becoming The Switch
I worry the next Nintendo system will be all digital in 2023.
It also might not be fully BC with Switch & only compatible games would be downloadable.
If you wanted to keep using your cartridges, you'd have to just keep using your old Switch.
Re: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Gets Confirmed Release Date, First Trailer And Screenshots
Lemme guess, GTA3 will be on 4GB cart and everything else is a download code.
For this reason alone, I would most likely buy the game on disc instead.
Re: Poll: Which Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Should You Play First Via Nintendo Switch Online?

Re: Video: Here's A First Look At Dragon Quest X Offline, Coming To Switch In 2022
When they say 'off-line', does that mean single-player only?
Or does it mean normal on-line with people and mostly single-player?
Re: Minecraft Dungeons Is Getting Seasonal Adventures This Holiday
Single player?
I get starting a new character, but no co-op?
Local co-op is probably the best aspect of this game.
Re: Nintendo Leaker Suggests Pricing Of Switch Online's Expansion Pack Could Be Tied To "Licensing Costs"
No one asked for Genesis, these prices are a disaster.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
This is insane. Nintendo has lost it's mind.
Re: Soapbox: 10 Reasons Why Metroid Fusion Is The Best Game In The Series
With regards to Dread, I feel like $60 is pushing it for a 4GB portable game.
GBA, DS, and 3DS games were all cheaper (I believe).
Nintendo is profiteering on the Switch OLED too. No way this should cost $350 today.
We're starting to see Nintendo games getting marked down almost immediately due to overly high prices.
Skyward Sword is on sale for $40 now (which is appropriate for a remaster of an older game).
Re: Apple Made More Profit From Games In 2019 Than Nintendo, Sony And Microsoft Combined
This is sad and just strange.
I thought most mobile games are FTP...
Do people really spend so much on phone games?
Re: Random: Nintendo Fan Collects Every Game Boy Game In Just Two Years
Since he's in Japan, this was probably a lot cheaper than you think.
There's tons of old games and systems, because they love phones now.

Re: Accusations Of Foul Play Surface Around Record-Breaking Graded NES Game Auctions
The Jobst video is riveting, better than most Hollywood movies.
The sealed & graded market is a scam. We always suspected, now we know.
Re: Round Up: Here Are The First "Hands-On" Impressions Of The Nintendo Switch OLED
I get all the negativity around the Switch OLED, but...
What if Nintendo Switch 2 follows the path of the all-digital Steam Deck?
If next Switch doesn't use game carts, people will flock to get an OLED while they can.
Something to think about if your Switch collection is physical and you value that option.
Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On The Switch OLED As Pre-Orders Go Live In The US
These scalpers are worse than Covid...
Re: Video: Unboxing The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Joy-Con Controllers, amiibo And Game
Seems like the trend now is to just repackage something that already exist and then just charge more (Switch OLED, old games, everything).
Re: Talking Point: Everyone Has A Bad Game They Love, So What's Yours?
Probably Balan Wonderland, I knew game was bad but I was still curious. Got a new copy for $28 on PS4. I though co-op would be fun, but it's basically broken. Re: Talking Point: Where Does The Switch OLED Announcement Leave The Rumoured Switch Pro?
Didn't really care before, certainly don't care now...
Further we get less sense it makes, better off saving money for Switch 2 now.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch OLED Model Looks Lovely, But May Also Disappoint
They should have slotted the OLED in at $299 and just phased out the old unit.
That's what they did with the original when they had the better battery & screen.
Then you would still have just current Switch and Lite. This is messy now with three units.
All I see coming out of this, is disappointment and customer confusion. Bad look for N.
Re: Nintendo Confirms There's No CPU Or RAM Upgrade In The OLED Switch
New system, no performance changes.
Kind of a waste, I think.
