Nobody should be surprised, the coins were the groundwork for it and they just wanted to avoid poor reviews. Luckily the core game is solid and the only thing you can purchase are skins as far as I can gather.

Ys 8 is my favorite JRPG on the Switch, so I would love to see more Ys titles get released.

Not having played the base game, I'll look up a physical copy of this. Strange indeed to not be able to use your custom character for Season 3... But there seems to be "post-game" content in the territory mode so I think I'll get my money's worth.

Price point was a real wake-up call. Not paying more than triple the cost for a botched port. They're literally charging extra because an item I have already purchased is valuable (the Switch, that is). Also they're charging extra so that they can charge the same for the physical edition, so anyone buying it digitally are paying for a privilege they don't receive. Shoddy practice at best, avoid if you ask me.

Looks bland and not very evocative of metroidvania to me.

Really having a good time with Bloodstained, the technical issues are there but hugely overblown by the internet. Optimization is welcome though.
