@KoopaTheQuick I'm generally not skilled enough for scrolling shooters (especially the retro, one hit = death type). This one's quite doable for me, but it's important to start on the easiest difficulty. There's kind of a NG+ where you just do the campaign again in the next difficulty, and the game is balanced with that in mind. That said, there are a few difficulty spikes here and there (which usually means you gotta optimize your ship and guns).
I think this is a prime example of how dumb the general gaming audience is. Having more of something you like is not a bad thing. Mind-boggling how whiny people are about this. The more HK inspired games we get the better! This and Greak looks really nice. HK is a top 5 game of the decade, of course its going to be influential. Also the difference between taking inspiration from and ripping off is lost on a lot of people. In fact, people using "rip off" to describe games is a clear indicator for me not to trust their opinion, as they clearly don't put much thought into them.
Wow I came here so sure that HGSS wasn't in its rightful place at the very top, but look at that! Easily the only Pokemon game I've felt is worth playing at all for the last decade or so.
I recommend avoiding this one. Lion King is notoriously bad, and the Sega version of Aladdin is dreadful. Especially when compared to the SNES Aladdin game, that one is actually solid.
Thanks for keeping us up to date on this issue. As a European resident, I would opt for importing the American version. I did the same with Dragon's Dogma.

Re: Feature: Game Of The Decade Staff Picks - Dark Souls
I seem to be in the minority, but Dark Souls is one of the worst games I've ever had the misfortune of playing.
Re: Capcom Switch eShop Sale Now Live, 19 Games Discounted For A Limited Time (Europe)
Might finally spring for Okami HD.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - December 2019
My favorite Dec release was Jets 'n' Guns, nice side-scrolling shooter! Only 7 bucks or so.
Re: Review: ESP Ra.De. Psi - The Best Shmup On Nintendo Switch, Period
The best scrolling shooter on the Switch is Jets 'n' Guns.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Switch Game Of The Year 2019
Pokemon and zelda are 6/10 games. Astral Chain is a worthy winner though
Re: Review: Dauntless - A Monster Hunter Rival Which Suffers From Tech Issues On Switch
If I want to play Monster Hunter, I'll play Monster Hunter. Also avoiding f2p like the plague.

Re: Monster Boy Sold More Copies On Switch Last Week "Than The Entire 5 Months Before That"
I mean yeah, I've said it before. 20$ is a much better price in the current indie landscape, 40$ is really, really pushing things.
Re: Monster Boy Celebrates Its First Anniversary With A Half-Price Digital Sale
Hm, kinda feel like 20 bucks is the price it should have been in the first place.
Re: Disney Tsum Tusm Festival - A Colourful Party Game That Isn't As Fun As It Looks
Looks dreadful and plays even worse? Nightmare fuel, too.

I recommend avoiding this one. Lion King is notoriously bad, and the Sega version of Aladdin is dreadful. Especially when compared to the SNES Aladdin game, that one is actually solid.

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo's Game Design Prowess Solve Discoverability Problems On Switch eShop?
More than anything, there should be some quality control. The eShop is shovelware city.
Re: CoroCoro Reveals New Gigantamax Versions Of Fan Favourite Pokémon In Sword And Shield
Like mega evolutios, I dislike this gimmick. It devalues 'mons that can't mega evolve or gigantamax.

Re: Magical 2D Platformer Enchanted Portals Accused Of Being A Cuphead Clone
@YANDMAN That is a strange mindset to have. I wish my favorite games had more directly inspired works.
Re: Magical 2D Platformer Enchanted Portals Accused Of Being A Cuphead Clone
The backlash is asinine. If I was a fan of Cuphead, I'd be thrilled about this game.
Re: Enchanted Portals Is A Cuphead-Style Co-Op Game Eyeing Up A Release On Switch
@kuromantic cuphead lifted its visual identity as well
Re: Gallery: Super Mario Odyssey Looks Even Better When A Professional Photographer Takes It For A Spin
Caught this on reddit, these images are nothing special which is kind of awkward given the emphasis on being a professional photographer.
Re: Port Specialist Virtuos Advises Other Devs To Not Treat The Switch "As A Secondary Platform"
@Shade_Koopa but only a marginal portion of players have that mentality. Otherwise the switch would have sold worse than the wii u
Re: Port Specialist Virtuos Advises Other Devs To Not Treat The Switch "As A Secondary Platform"
@Shade_Koopa how does that impact your enjoyment of the games you do purchase?
Re: Port Specialist Virtuos Advises Other Devs To Not Treat The Switch "As A Secondary Platform"
@Shade_Koopa superbly ignorant. You can very easily enjoy gaming as a hobby without buying everything that comes out.
Re: Zelda-Inspired Open World Pirate Adventure Stranded Sails Hits Switch This October
"zelda inspired" is thrown around way too easily...
Re: SuperEpic Is A Comical Metroidvania Where You Destroy Evil Microtransactions
Another "metroidvania" eh. This just seems like a meme in game form to me..

Hey, I'm happy they're working this hard on it. I'd rather wait and have a good patch.

Bloodstained posts are always a salt mine. I hope the switch patch is coming soon.
Re: Miyamoto Wanted Mario Maker Gameplay In Zelda, So Aonuma Created The Chamber Dungeon
Creating overworlds seems infinitely more compelling than creating dungeons, tbh.
Re: Review: Super Mario World - Phenomenal Platforming Perfection
Just started this game this morning after beating Yoshi's Island (an even better game in my opinion). Good times
Re: Nintendo Details Plans For EGX 2019, Go Hands-On With Pokémon, Zelda, Luigi's Mansion And More
Came for BotW 2. "Hands-on" for an already released game is not really exciting.
Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Lite Is Out Today, Are You Getting One?
Already got a Switch. A better one. Shrug.
