Next month, Bandai Namco releases God Eater 3 on the Nintendo Switch. To help introduce newcomers to this well-established series before this particular launch, the Japanese publisher has uploaded a demo to the Switch eShop in North America and Europe.
It's the same one teased last month during an official Japanese God Eater live stream and will give you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the game world while testing out the stylish high-speed combat. Setting this demo apart from the rest is the inclusion of local multiplayer support, for two to four players.
As previously noted, local multiplayer is a feature unique to the Switch release. The rest of it will be "the same" as previous versions of the game, according to producer Yuya Tomiyama. This includes online support for one to eight players.
If you decide to the pre-order the game ahead of its release, you'll also receive the exclusive hairstyle and outfit of Yuri or Estelle from Tales of Vesperia. The full game will set you back $59.99 / £49.99 and take up 11.5GB of space on your system.
Have you downloaded this demo yet? Will you be testing out the local multiplayer feature with anyone else? Tell us below.

Finally, a new demo to try
Just tried it and.... It's cool nothing more to say about it.
When it comes to Demos, i'm waiting for the Link's Awakening Demo From E3. But i'll give this one a try while i wait.
It looks neat, but it turns out it’s not really my type of game. I’m sure others may like it though 😁
Just downloaded the demo, can't wait to play it.
Impressions from those who’ve tried it?
A demo huh? I will have to try it.
Those Vesperia customs are really tempted but locking them behind a pre-order annoyed the crap out of me! Grr!
Going too try it.
Its normaly a Game I like
I liked the previous games on PS4, assuming this runs o.k and doesn't look terrible it should be cool.
Looks really good on Switch. Runs great too. This is a quality Switch version.
As for the game, it's like Monster Hunter. Solo offline play, optional multiplayer if desired, online or local.
I preordered digitally after playing the demo.
No physical in Europe, no go
Cant find the demo via eshop website...
Will check when I get home from work.
I tend to find God Eater games kind of hard to get into and quite complicated, but maybe that's because I only need one monster hunting game series in my life.
But I love the anime aesthetic and the weapon designs, and the demo looked and felt great on Switch in handheld mode, from the few minutes I've played. I'm going to keep my eye out for a review or two but my impressions are positive.
@Fazermint It has a physical release here in Denmark
Awesome will test this out later
It runs really well, and looks super nice. Not sure how I feel about the gameplay though, seems like Monster Hunter but not as good?
Is it also for pre-purchase physically? or only digital?
@Fazermint wait what really??
@MisterDevil Seems that way. Never officially announced for the region, and GameFAQs listings suggest the same

Just played the demo.
I enjoyed all the customization options it had to offer as well as the variety of weapons and flashy moves.
I found the game also very welcoming due to the similarities to monster hunter.
But the thing that turned me off was the difficulty. I defeated all the bosses within a few minutes and without much effort.
This may have been due to me being assisted by computers but I dont feel like it should this difficult considering monster hunter offers a challenge as well no matter the amount of members.
Other than that though i enjoyed the demo.
@Fazermint American eshop
hmm l think i will try the demo because it is my type of game.
@Fazermint ok this honestly sucks... I want to preserve my storage for indie games not tripple A games which takes a few or even dozens of GB :/
@MisterDevil Same! I get AAAs physical and indies digital. Was a bit on the fence about this game, but this fact made for an easy decision to not bother.
@Fazermint yeah true... maybe I will get it later when it is heavily discounted or when a physical edition comes out...
@Fazermint I found physical one on a german site. If you live in Europe you normally can get it delivered to you: netgames.de
@MisterDevil Hey thanks for the heads-up! Possibly an import, but Switch is region free, so. Bookmarked for future reference!
@Fazermint yeah just have to look if they ship to you
