I have to agree with Not_Soos. Tons of games have positive representation of LGBTQ. Nobody these days would ever dare portray them in a negative light or even in a joking manner. But I rarely see positive depictions of Christianity or even religion more generally. More often it's a lazy, stereotypical trope done without much thought.

I think Devolver Digital has a real problem with Switch games. I bought Card Shark and the game hardlocked about 90% of the way in, absolutely nothing you could do, it froze after you loaded your game. Lots of people with the same problem on Discord, but it took them about 4 months to fix it.

First one I ever owned myself was Metroid Prime on GC. I had played Metroid and Super Metroid at friends' houses though.

Without too much in the way of spoilers, can someone lightly touch on how the stories come together? Is each character like a short prelude before they come together (like Octopath) or are they lengthy separate stories that only merge towards the end?

Played ever? I have some extremely vague memories of playing Pitfall at a cousin's house on an Atari. First one I ever owned? That would be the Sega Master System with built-in Alex Kidd.

Wow so many utterly forgettable and crap games. How did this series ever survive as long as it did when the best games were uncontrovertably the first few?

Yeah I actually skipped the Switch version and downloaded the free PC version but struggled a ton to connect yesterday.

@Yosher Interesting, I had the opposite reaction - I think both are quite nice, but the NA version was too busy for my taste and I preferred the simplicity.

Question - "Live" can be pronounced two different ways, with a long I (adjective - a "live concert" or a "live wire", rhymes with "hive") or a short I (verb - "live your life" or "live and let live", rhymes with "give").

ok then you beat the heart and now you have ascensions, which are twenty sequentially more challenging ways to make the game even HARDER, such as everything having more health, everything doing more damage, losing a potion slot, starting every run with a curse you can't remove in your deck, and having to kill TWO Act 3 bosses in a row.

It took me about 600 hours playtime to beat Ascension 20 on all 4 characters (stupid ironclad).

Favorite character is Defect. I love power builds (stupid awakened one boss). Watcher is amazing. Takes a long time to understand how to use her well, but she's incredibly powerful and for most serious players, actually the easiest to win with. Awakened One is my nemesis, because powers are SO GOOD (spend the energy once, get a permanent effect the entire fight). Awakened One is also my hardest boss (it has soooo much health and punishes powers). Strategy is far more important. Lucky matters, it's not chess, but your choices matter more than RNG. 1 energy or 1 card? Tough. Early game 1 energy is far better because you can't play all the cards in your hand. Late game 1 card is much better because you need to find your best cards to do your broken stuff/combos. I am ambivalent toward the biscuits.

Anybody ever play Sakura Wars: So Long My Love on Wii? 13 Sentinels reminds me of that, although less of a dating sim?

Anybody else play New Super Lucky's Tale? Grabbed a demo and thought it was just a very generic spyro style game. Not sure if my 11-yo would dig it.

Why on EARTH is this not two players? It literally has two distinct characters, you use both of them to solve puzzles... this blows my mind.

@Inc It's not any Sega tune that I recognize. Very generic and repetitive chiptunes. I found them grating to my ears.

I picked this up. The picrossing is fine. The music is SO BAD tho.

Yeah I've never been interested in playing an AC game for more than a couple months. The charm (and it is charming at first) wears off super quick for me. I thought AC:NH was going to be absolutely perfect for pandemic lock-in but the lack of good couch co-op ruined. Forcing everybody to stay near the island owner and limiting how much they could do just was incredibly unfun. What a terrible design decision.

#1 - The CARES relief stuff for businesses had to be spent on specific things (payroll for employees, largely), so yeah this is fraud.

#2 - It is kind of funny and kind of sad that all the individuals getting COVID relief had no such restrictions and basically everybody I know spent their money on vacations, or put it in kids' college savings funds, or splurged on fun stuff for themselves because they weren't in any way actually needing of any relief.

#3 - Or if, like me, you're self-employed, you probably just had to leave it in the bank to pay taxes at the end of the year because you knew the government was paying you too much money and you couldn't do anything about it.

Well when you're conditioned to believe that every business is fundamentally evil...

Why does every TRPG have to be this unbelievably weighty story about kingdoms and dynasties and international intrigue? That was my least favorite part about FFT and Triangle Strategy takes it to extremes.

I think it's more of a default position and one the lawyers prefer. I do tend to agree that you'd generally rather have people talking about the game (free publicity!) unless it's EXTREMELY early in the process.

@ModdedInkling Yeah that's kind of what I'm expecting. A kitschy destination store, not really a "game" store.
