So is this only UK and US? Don't see something about continental Europe?
Edit: Nevermind, they weren't listed as vinyl on my local My Nintendo Store, so I couldn't find them initially. I ordered both. Love me some vinyl. Love this game. Still listen to the soundtrack when I look to unwind. No brainer.
Still managed to get 30 hours in, though I've mainly used the S2 to play S1 games. MKW hasn't got me to put down Splatoon and even loses out to some roaming around in the improved Hyrule.
I feel weirdly burned out by MKW, despite the changes they made. Maybe once I'll go into online play that'll change.
Still I am sure I'll keep returning to the game for the S2 lifetime, so for years. And it does have good qualities and provide entertain, so 8 seems like a good score.
The update for Splatoon 3 is not major, but definitely noticeable. Since I still play the game a lot the update has made the Switch 2 more value for money for me. So in that sense I think it's been a good move from Nintendo to do these updates - I don't think they did something similar with earlier generations?
It makes sense this the S2 is more of a transition than a revolution. And they seem to realise that. Not to sound like too much of a fanboy, but I really feel we'll look back on the S2 in a couple of years as a great choice for its time. The current criticism is legit, but I do think it will become more nuanced with time.
It's funny to note that the sentiment has changed dramatically in the US. It used to be 'it's expensive, but maybe I'll get it later' to 'it'll probably only get more expensive, I need to get it now'.
Combine that with FOMO and this analyst right here predicts record breaking numbers not in Japan, but the US. Maybe the Americas in general.
Trump has done Nintendo a favour, and Nintendo played it smart by keeping the S2 price stable, making it seem cheaper than it could've been. Art of the deal.
It's a 100 euro digital alarm clock, that can handle only one alarm? I mean, seriously? It's like Mario Kart without steering. But hopefully they'll add it later...
Though I mostly played on the N3DS XL, the New 3DS is my favourite of this generation. It size and general aesthetics are so much nicer than its bigger brother. I bought one for my collection and it's proudly on display with the 'wooden' mario plates, next to the 3DS SNES edition and the 2DS XL Pokémon edition. If I ever see a decent price for one again, I'll get it to actually use for gaming.
I felt a surge of FOMO when I saw this selling out in some places. But after reading some reviews and seeing the pictures, I don't think I'm missing out on much. Not worth the hassle of explaining to my wife why I have a kids clock on my nightstand.
So happy to see BotW on top. A good reminder to give it some extra points. Despite the fact that there are so many amazing games in this series (I'm looking at you Link's Awakening DX), it is my favourite.
Still at the beginning of EoW though, so we'll see were it will rank. Probably not among the top 3, but I'm having a good time!
I'm holding out for more interesting/iconic sets in the future. This one just doesn't justify the expense and the space it takes.
I recently bought the Lego Barad Dur and that one is really worth the price for me, while the Rivendell one is not. I really hope they'll release something more interesting in the future.
@Yoshi3 I agree with you. Each time I see one of these leaked pictures even I have to look closely to see the difference. Iterative fine, but this is - if they see a difference - just a bigger switch. It will need something more than changes under the hood to convince people to buy a new one.
Aren't they undercutting potential Switch 2 sales with this? Most people who still have to buy the console, won't shell out another 400-450 in a year or so.
@Diogmites I tried to play them in order, but got a bit bored with the Gameboy ones. They're considered such classics, but I'm not very good at platformers to begin with, do you think these are a better starting point?
Love Lego, love Nintendo, have not really loved their collaboration so far. Considering money and space is limited, I'm holding out for a Majora's Mask from Lego or at least something more iconic than a Deku tree.
I'm having more fun building the Lego Architecture and LotR sets than I ever have with any of this. Shame, because I was expecting more.
@kkslider5552000 interesting perspective, I've completely ignored these games (not knowing if they were good or bad) because the spin offs didn't really do it for me, but I'll give this a shot now.
I recently bought the Barad Dur set without blinking, and though I was really looking forward to a Zelda Lego set, this set just doesn't inspire me. Not enough to justify this price. Maybe I'll get it eventually if it's on sale or they throw in a bonus article. Otherwise I'll just wait for the other sets.
Ordering the special edition lite on top of the several Switches I already own, but somehow this feels like a waste of money. I don't see myself ever hanging that scroll anywhere. And it's not interesting enough to add my collection, which I try to keep manageable. So not for me.
@moolyt you can register your interest now and you'll get an email when you can preorder. I'm in the Netherlands, but I guess it'll be similar in other countries.
@steely_pete This. I'm not completely sold on the direction they DID go, as I enjoyed the Link's Awakening remake but I didn't find it nearly as memorable as the original, it's just a little trying to hard be 'cute'.
Definitely didn't see the special edition coming so late in the Switch lifetime. Any news on when and where to preorder? I don't need it AT ALL, but I must have it.
@Total_Weirdo They'll milk this as much as they can first, do a bunch of full priced remakes for the Super Switch, once the first SS hype has passed and maybe the inevitable update too, they'll release Gamecube as the next big thing. Of course only a few of the good ones and mainly fillers. Sounds like a good strategy.
I WILL go wild for the Gamecube controllers though. My hands are grown to that shape.
@MSaturn I hear you. My advice: buy it, built it together with your kids (sell it to the wife as 'quality time' and 'it's good for their development' and just never say how expensive it was.
Afterwards put it in a display box. On a shelf. High.
All of this depends on the actual release though...
Got tired of waiting for Nintendo to drip feed titles like SML and Pokémon, so I got an Analogue to play my games on a modern screen. Can't recommend it enough. I'll keep my subscription for the games I'm trying to find the time finish (mainly Fire Emblem) and for the N64 library, but for Gameboy I prefer the experience of the pocket. Also nice to pick up my old saves.
With BotW my interest in the game completely collapsed after I beat G 200 hours in, even though there was still a lot to do. What was I collecting mushrooms for after I 'completed' the game?
TotK never grabbed me so far and I'm afraid beating Ganon will make me abandon it completely. So no. I'm holding my off on fighting him, still hoping that at some point it will click what they were planning with this game and which apparently is clear to many other players.
@Franc001 Couldn't agree more. I really missed the sense of exploration, especially when I figured out exploring the nooks and crannies of 'The Depths' was not worth anything.
I really tried to like it, but it never came close to BotW.
I had a feeling this would come, but of course the day I don't look they restock! But thanks Nintendo Life. I've not been collecting Amiibos that long, but I managed to get most of what I wanted including an extra Daisy for my daughter! Expensive day!
Breath of the Wild all the way. Like some others said, the impact on me was huge. TotK felt to me like a part two, never enjoyed as much or lost myself in it like Breath. So easy choice.
I also don't understand why they gave him the same line EVERY time. He's in so many places, the puzzle is the same, vary a bit with the lines and at least you'll get that as a reward. Just part of the whole Tears of the Copy-Paste Kingdom.
Still playing and enjoying parts of the game, but I expected better after six years.
Metroid should take the top spot over TotK, as it's the better remaster of the two. Yes, Tears has some additional content, but only mimimal changes were made over the original. Felt like playing the same game again. Metroid was the same game, but felt like a brand new, more beautiful experience.
@Scarmucci TotK is basically an oversized DLC. BG3 is a full game, like BotW was. So when you think of it like that, it makes sense. Hardware and file size have very little to do with it.
I still play TotK almost every day. But it's too much copy paste - both within the game and compared to it's predecessor - to be eligible for GotY.
I wonder how much of what he says is genuine. Feels like he's mainly stating these references to appease the fans. Regardless, I have little faith in the whole project. I'll stick to the games.

@MSaturn one of the more sensible comments around. Completely agree, and your math is solid.

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?
It annoyed me quite a bit in Link's Awakening, but didn't notice it too much so far (I'm up to Gerudo), so all good.
I was worried it would be much worse, so maybe all the reviews just lowered my expectations.

It's simple: BotW is the better game and makes more sense as a starting point.
Also, people that want to know what the hype is about may buy BotW. If they don't like it, they'll not get TotK. Mystery solved.
