Wow Nintendo remembered that the Wave Race franchise exists. How about a new entry in the series, it's only been 23 years .

As others have hinted at, it's about 2 years since I pre-ordered Chained Echoes from First Press Games and there's still no sign of it showing up (similar to my order with them of Crimzon Clover World EXplosion, which will be 3 years on 22nd December).

What a disgraceful scam of a company they are, worthy of an investigation from Nintendo Life I think!

@jake1421 Thanks, I'll end up getting the Japanese version (and the same for ESP Ra.De and DDP SDOJ) if they don't get a western release before Switch 2 comes out.

Still waiting for Limited Run Games (or anyone else) to bring a physical release of DDP DOJ to the west, would be great if they could tie it in with a western release of DDP SDOJ.

Definitely up for a Shenmue collection on Switch having never played any of the series but having heard so many people wax lyrical about the first two games.

Also no F-Zero, Super Mario World or Super Metroid at launch is a poor effort from Nintendo.

What about Splatoon 1 and Super Mario Maker 1? Obviously there's the online element of both but there's single player games in both of them too.

Have been really looking forward to playing this on Switch and as others have said the review reads more like a 7 or maybe an 8 than a 6/10. Anyway it's averaging 74 currently on Metacritic and most reviews say it's a decent port, so that's good enough for me to add it to my LRG wishlist.

@Yoshi3 It definitely is an F-Zero game, they just need to add an offline race mode with 98 bots and it'll be one of my favourite games in the series.

About time they created a one player version we can play against bots and bring out a physical copy too, the same way they did both for Tetris 99.

It's a shame to see what the PES/Pro Evo/Superstar Soccer series has become. I spent many happy hours playing the games on the SNES, N64, PS2 and latterly e Football PES 2020 on the PS4.

The last few entries since they went full on eSports/DLC have been shocking though and the series seems to have lost all relevance.

Great news, hope they'll bring Kiwami 2 to the Switch as well, and the rest of the games to Switch 2.

As a long-time F-Zero fan this has been easily my most played game of the last year with over 80 overs spent on it so far, I'm loving the updates too. As others have said we just need a proper single player offline mode now, and a physical version a la Tetris 99 (which I got the physical of and also thoroughly enjoyed).

Like others have said I have mixed feelings about LRG, but I'm mostly positive.

However they definitely push the FOMO aspect and some of their Collector's editions are over priced.

It's also a shame that a company as big as Konami is relying on LRG for physical releases rather than producing them themselves.

Nice review, here's hoping for a physical release in the West as well.

Also Konami really need to bring out a Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja collection with translations of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Super Famicom games.

Definitely has the F-Zero X style handling, cracking tune too. Hope it comes to Switch or Switch 2.

Hopefully Limited Run Games will release DDP Blissful Death at some stage this year, as they have done with previous Cave games that have been ported to the Switch.

Have had my eye on this, here's hoping it's as good as it looks.

@LikelySatan Hmm, all three of the originals were on the SNES so maybe 'spruced up 16 bit style' might be more accurate?

Will get it if it's as good as their remakes of Wild Guns, Ninja Warriors and Pocky & Rocky were. We need more games in the 16 bit style, the 8 bit retro style has been overdone and does nothing for me personally.

@kedireturns I'm a big fan of the PS2 and would say it's one of the three greatest consoles of all time, and arguably the greatest. However there's no doubting that some people bought it primarily as a DVD player, especially in the early days of the PS2.

It's also highly amusing that someone who keeps shouting "Nintendo fanboy' at other people on here has 6 posts on this one article as he's so determined to defend the PS2's honour against the perceived slight of people pointing out that it was also a DVD player, out of 7 posts in total on Nintendo Life.

@kedireturns An ex of mine had a PS2 purely as a DVD player, so that counts for 1 of the 155 or 158 million.

@electrolite77 Add on the SNES and that's my list of 3 favourite systems. Could make a good case for them being the 3 best consoles of all time too.

@nocdaes The Switch has had a Youtube app since late 2018. Still prefer to watch Youtube on my phone but it's nice to have the option.

Are CPU players not designated such? If so I've still not seen any in any of my races, although it does seem that the numbers are down from maybe 50,000 users a week when the game first came out to perhaps 5,000 or so now?

Houston we have a problem.

Classic edition for me, assuming the reviews are decent when it comes out in a fortnight or so.

March 2025 or later is fine with me. I've got a humungous backlog including about 70 Switch games already, and another 200 games on Switch that I want to get at some point.

The Switch has such quality, depth and breadth in its game library (right up there with the PS2 which it will hopefully dethrone as the best selling console ever), that the Super Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 could come out in 2030 and I'd still be busy catching up.

Downloaded the demo at the weekend and enjoying it so far. Hopefully someone like LRG might pick it up for a physical release?!

Early 2025 is fine with me, the Switch has an insane line up of quality games already, a few more Nintendo remasters (Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and F-Zero GX please) and a couple more big 3rd party multi format games and Switch will sail past 150 million consoles by the end of this year.

Looks pretty cool, looking forward to Nintendo Life reviewing it.

@120frames-please Do you mean Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics? It's got Gradius I & II on it but that's it.

There was an excellent Gradius Collection on the PSP with the arcade versions of I, II, III, IV, & Gradius Gaiden which had previously been tied to the Japanese PS1. They could add the NES version of Gradius I, the PC Engine version of Gradius II, the SNES version of Gradius III, and maybe even Gradius V on the PS2 and Gradius Rebirth from the Wii judging by what Konami did with the Contra and Castlevania collections.

Hopefully it's just a matter of time before we get a Goemon Collection. Parodius, Twinbee, Gradius and Bomberman would also be ripe for the collection treatment at this point.

EA has been shocking with their lack of support for Nintendo since the early days of the Wii U when they seemingly got burned. Madden admittedly is a shell of its PS2 heyday these days but I'd still love to see a version on Switch.

Even after Switch selling 135 million consoles worldwide, EA haven't even brought a 'legacy version' of Madden to Nintendo's hybrid. What a joke of a company they are.

Love the Goemon games so will pick this up if/when it gets an English translation added, or even better a full Western physical release (fingers crossed).
