"Perhaps you think we're lacking a sense of humour?"
Yes, among other things. They're making fun of actual claims made by people like Alex Jones, but you said you already knew that.
@masterLEON I miss the times that DLC was released months or even years after the game to breathe new life into it. At least that's how I understood add-ons for PC games in the 1990s. For all I know, the Tomb Raider add-ons for PC could have come out the very next day, but that's not how I remember it.
@masterLEON Then it would have made sense to release it as a standalone game. I remembered that Deathsmiles I & II is a port of two old-ish games a few hours after I made that post but didn't feel like coming back to correct it yet. My issue with same-day DLC is that I am sick to death of it being a constant thing to the point that it annoys me even when it's not tacked on to a new game. Maybe it's compulsive anger or something. Is jaded the right word?
I was considering Deathsmiles I & II despite the $40 price, but releasing add-on content so close to the date of the main game is a real turn-off for me, especially at $25. I know I don't have to buy the extra content, but I still find the practice sleazy and makes me wonder if the content was originally planned to be included in the game to begin with. Just program the goddamn game and develop the extras later like they used to to in PC games. Everything is ***** "tier" now and it's annoying!
Now might be a good time to port these games to currently supported hardware. I can see them selling decently on Switch. I might even buy a few myself since I don't know where my copy of Klonoa 2 is.
@BigE That comment reminds me of the time Scary Larry said in his review of WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game for SNES that you could make a sandwich between special moves because the slowdown was so horrible.
The trailer implies that you can ram other players but doesn't make it crystal clear. It's one of my favorite things to do in F-Zero X, Sleeping Dogs, and most of the Burnout games. Frankly (and I may have said this before), I'd be satisfied with remastered ports of F-Zero X (plus the 64DD content), F-Zero GX, and F-Zero AX. I know the chances of that ever happening are slim at best, but a girl can dream.
@HammerGalladeBro Thanks for the info. After reading your reply, I decided to bite the bullet and get the Deluxe Pack as well. Some of my teeth hurt, but I'm mostly pleased with my purchase. I wish there were more modes to play with the various themes but that's about it.
This looks weird, but considering there's so little else, I might as well check it out. I'm not finding much good on the PlayStation or Xbox stores either, and I still haven't gotten a good computer so that leaves Steam, GOG, and Origin off the table for now.
@HammerGalladeBro I almost bought the Unlock DLC, but then I remembered getting screwed by Sony in DC Universe Online and I'm until I can get confirmation that the single player content can be used without a Switch Online membership and that I can use the themes I bought in those modes, I'm steering clear.
I might pick the game up if or when they add the cheats from the original, but for now, I'm not interested. When playing old games like this, I prefer to run at hordes of enemies with guns blazing and not have to worry about health or ammo.
No matter who does Mario's voice, I can bet it will be annoying. The damage was already done when they decided to make Mario sound like an idiot over 20 years ago.
I think it's kinda stupid to skip the Switch, but I don't know how well other Smash clones sell on the Switch. Maybe it's just not as marketable to an audience with easy access to the original.
@Burning_Spear It's kinda odd that it's available on PS4 & Xbox One but not Wii U or Switch. Ms. Pac-Man hasn't been on a Nintendo system since GameCube or Game Boy Advance. Technically, you can play Ms. Pac-Man on backwards compatible Wiis, but that's beside the point. None of the consoles seem to have the version I want anyway. I got used to the high-speed one typically found in arcades.
I know there are many ways to play Ms. Pac-Man but it's a glaring omission from yet another collection. I wish they would sort out whatever legal issues they have or come to the same agreement they had which allowed the game on Xbox One and PS4 as well as sort of being included in the previous Pac-Man Museum.
I stopped subscribing to Switch Online shortly after they introduced a tier system and I don't want to get sucked back in so I'll probably pass on this.
This looks like an insanely difficult cross between F-Zero and Marble Madness.
By the way, I know this site needs ads to make money, but could you fix the format? It's hard to watch a video here when the screen jumps around to load a new ad every few seconds.
This looks like something I could get into. I already have two of the Sega ports as well as Super Valis IV for SNES. I hope they decide to bring the TCD version of Valis 4 to modern platforms because it has things the SNES port doesn't kinda like Dracula X.
I guess it's better than nothing. I'm not surprised that you can't stream games from it though; the Switch can barely run a lot of games as it is without devoting extra memory to an app in the process. I often wish Nintendo would give their "innovation" a rest for a while and make a system that can actually compete on a technical level with the competition.

It's unfortunate, but at least they're being more responsible than the makers of the All controller.
