honestly I'll take a million versions of arrangement over ms. pac-man anyday (though putting 256 and I think the 4-player arcade game you see at like, Dave and Busters is just bizarre)

The Pac-Man Collection on GBA was the first game I ever played. This looks like the expanded sequel I never knew I wanted!

Would it kill them to add Ms. Pac-man in the same compilation as Pac-Man, just ONE TIME! It's always a glaring omission. Otherwise this does look like a fantastic collection - for the right price at least.

This makes me wish I enjoyed playing Pac-Man, because this is an awesome way to do a collection!

@Severian It was truly bizarre, there's nothing else like it on the snes. I remember playing as a kid, and just throwing things at PacMan until he became infuriated.

If they release this physically, like they did with Namco Museum Arcade Pac, I'm game. Having Pac-Man Championship Edition 1 and 2 PLUS physically is a nice addition to the collection, even if they're available via compilations.

Also looking forward to the day I can try Pac-Man Battle Royale. None of the very few arcades in my city has had it.

Though I agree it needs more Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures and Ms. Pac-Man. Maybe Pac-Man Vs., but that's already available in the Switch Namco Museum, if it was included, it probably would have been exclusive to the Switch version. That's a Nintendo-developed game.

i like the presentation and the fact that they are creating an actual arcade room/feel, but this concept would be far far better with a general namco collection. everyone loves PAC-man, but maybe not this much.

I know that there are rights issues, but the lack of Ms. Pac-Man is jarring. Also, why not include Pac-Man 2? I always liked that silly game.

Wish it had Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ (plus) too. Seems to always get overlooked, but I think its the best CE game. It's not just an updated version of the original either, it's a completely separate game.

@Severian Oh god yeah, those mine cart levels. I feel I actually did play through the whole game, later on though when I was in high school. I remember one of the coolest features was you could go into the arcade in town and play the original Pac-Man.

That's a decent line up, just wish it had Ms; New Adventures; and World.

I would love for them to remake Pacman World 2.... And Ms. Pacman 64.

I recently replayed through Ms.pacman 64... And it's ruff... But still fun. It's just everything is very.... Cheap if that makes any sense.

It's about time Namco put out collections for games like Ridge Racer and Tekken.

@Paulo I'm glad someone else remembers Pac-Pix! It was such an innovative and interesting game and really showed how the DS could do very different games to what had come before.

I can't help to think this was a missed opportunity to deliver Pac-Man Battle Royale to the home gaming community. That would have been so awesome!

Hats off to Namco for constructing these lineups so carefully that there are always a few games left over for a couple more best-of releases on the same console.

All these Pac Man and still the only way to play Ms. Pac Man is on Wii U with GBA's Namco Museum... so strange what Namco has against this game and doesn't include it in the collections.

I've never tried many of these - Pac in Time, Pac n' Roll, and Pac Man 256 look especially fun - and the arcade customization looks like a nice touch. But Ms. Pac Man where are youuuu???? I hope Namco gets her out of whatever awful licensing deal she is stuck in someday. Her absence is ridiculous at this point.

Give us a nice physical packaging that honors this collection!

@Clyde_Radcliffe It's basically a real time dialogue-less point and click adventure with a protagonist who actively tries to go against your clicks. It's a hilarious game.

Ms P missing out is extra weird given she was available as DLC for Pac-Man Museum on the PS3/360/PC - the rest of which is all present and correct here, with a few extra…

@Juga Ms. Pac-Man will likely never reappear in a Namco collection. However, if you've got the PS5 or PS4, you can download it now for $3.99, I believe. I got it a few weeks ago for 50 percent off. A fantastic bargain!

And I agree with others who lamented the absence of Pac-Man Vs, Pac-Man 2 and the Pac-Man World games. If they're going to put together an anniversary compilation, they might as well include every game they can feasibly port.
If this had the World games I would buy it.

@InvisiBulbasaur Yes, Namco lost the rights. I'm sure someone else can explain it in full detail, but that's why I said earlier that I doubt you'll ever see the game included in another Namco compilation.

PAC-MAN BATTLE ROYALE is a LOT of fun in the arcade...I don't know if it will be fun at home or if it really is just a lot of fun in VERY short bursts.

@Burning_Spear I wish I understood this whole Ms. Pac-Man copyright fiasco. The way I understand it, at some point Namco and the original creators of the arcade game had a falling out, which means that the original arcade developer owns the rights to the Ms. Pac-Man game, but not the name Ms. Pac-Man. So they can't sell it and neither can Namco. I wish Namco would just buy the rights and end this mess.

At one point Namco was set to fully own Ms.Pac-Man fully but then AtGames (the people behind the Atari Flashback and old Genesis plug & play) bought out GCC’s rights and messed up that deal fast.

I will echo the others who have said that leaving out Championship Edition DX+ is a real shame. I love that game and was hugely disappointed by the follow up CE 2.

Meh. This is what Namco Museum should’ve been for the Switch. I love the idea of an actual arcade to walk around with missions to beat and coins to earn, but it being tied just to Pac-Man titles isn’t doing much for me. This with other Namco classics like Galaga, Dig Dug, Mappy, and more would have gotten me to consider it.

@Leprecorn I’d love to see a Pac-Man collection featuring more modern games in the franchise like those. Pac-Man World 1 and 2 were both great games!

Now this is the better compilation compared to the last one, but it still feels like there's some games still absent tho

@The-Nate So Namco could release a version of Ms. Pac-Man, but they would have to pay royalties to GCC (or AtGames?) But no one else could release a version of Ms. Pac-Man, since Namco owns the rights to the Pac-Man name? If that's correct, I don't understand what GCC/AtGames gains from having a right to royalties if they won't cooperate with Namco. They have a potential customer base of exactly one (i.e. Namco).

Pac-Man arrangement arcade versions! I love that game. The PSP version wasn't as good.

There was Pac-Man World Rally 2 and the Pinball game too. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't release a follow up title with the other games on.

This is fantastic. I've been waiting for an official release of the Pac-Land arcade on Nintendo consoles for years.

It's also great that this compilation is bringing back the original Namco Museum experience with an arcade to walk around in.

I just hope we can get Pac-Man Championship Edition DX in a future D.L.C. or update. That will make this collection feel truly complete.

I know there are many ways to play Ms. Pac-Man but it's a glaring omission from yet another collection. I wish they would sort out whatever legal issues they have or come to the same agreement they had which allowed the game on Xbox One and PS4 as well as sort of being included in the previous Pac-Man Museum.

@tektite_captain As I mentioned earlier in the thread, they are selling Ms. Pac-Man. I bought it off the PS Store earlier this month as a standalone title, so I don't have to dig out my GameCube copy every time I want to play. It seems like an arcade port ... or incredibly close. It's listed as Bandai Namco in the store description so ... you got me. Anyway, it's there now and $3.99 for anyone who wants it.

Honestly...im probably in the minority here, but why haven't they had a collection that has Pac-in-Time or Pac-Man 2?

@Burning_Spear The PS Store version came out in 2016, so maybe it wasn't affected by whatever royalty issue is affecting Ms. Pac Man now? I don't know, I just want to play Ms. Pac-Man on Switch. 😄

I love me some Super Pac-Man. That was my jam along with DK3, Robotron and Defender back in the arcade days. We had a place at the mall Supercade that had over 1000 machines. Boner heaven.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Ever since Namco started re-releasing the other Pac-Man Arrangement that first appeared on PSP, which is here too, I never thought I would see this again.

I'm also surprised to see Pac in Time here since it was actually a reskin of a game made by Kalisto named Fury of the Furries.

@Paulman4ever The only compilation I immediately know that had Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man was the 2001 edition of Namco Museum (PS2/Xbox/GameCube), though Ms. Pac-Man had to be unlocked.

I used to think Street Fighter II and Sonic 2 had the most rereleases on Switch but Pacman is taking the bisket....

For everyone asking why no Pac-Man 2, it’s probably because you can play Ms. Pac-Man in-game after you find all the cartridge pieces. So rights issues, most likely.

@Burning_Spear It's kinda odd that it's available on PS4 & Xbox One but not Wii U or Switch. Ms. Pac-Man hasn't been on a Nintendo system since GameCube or Game Boy Advance. Technically, you can play Ms. Pac-Man on backwards compatible Wiis, but that's beside the point. None of the consoles seem to have the version I want anyway. I got used to the high-speed one typically found in arcades.

Actually, Bandai Namco does own the copyright and IP of Ms. Pac-Man, but if they ever use her or her game, they would need to pay some royalties to AtGames. In other words, AtGames gets free money whenever Ms Pac-Man is used. I also have a feeling that even if AtGames were to sell the royalties to B-N, it's most likely just to be cheaper to buy out the whole of the company.

Still no Ms. Pac-Man? Oh well.

@TheRedComet you might be right, but some 10 years ago Nintendo released the NES version of DK (their code) with the factory level, but this was never seen again.

Pac-Man Arrangement is the best maze game of all time!

I wish they'd release the Commodore 64 version of Pac-Mania, that version had a much more interesting soundtrack.

Would love to have seen Ms Pac- man Maze Madness (loved it on Dreamcast) but being the original Ms Pac is missing I guess I’m reaching here. 🤷‍♂️ Still interested in this collection regardless.

@JRJalapeno omg I would almost KILL to have Robotron 2084 on switch!! Or any Atari Games/Midway Arcade classic for that matter! Big glaring omission from the switch retro library!

I got Pac-Man 99, I'm good with that for whenever I need a Pac-Man fix.

Probably the coolest way they've ever done a compilation before, which is saying alot.

Happy... Though Bamco, couldn't you have just released this in the first place? Kinda bothered by some of the piece-wise released I've bought already on the Switch but, sigh, I'll get over it. This is must-buy material for me, so wishlist it goes.

@joey302 yea I agree. I'm surprised we haven't seen more spiritual successors to games like robotron, defender, Stargate, millipede, zaxxon, etc. The Golden age of gaming deserves more respect😂. If I had a lick of talent id be making these games. If you don't have a vita, get one. Jeff Minters Tempest spiritual successor TXK is off the %#*^€ charts. I play it daily along with Resogun..a tribute to Defender. I even bought a new vita..still sealed in box just so I have a backup. 🤣😂

@JRJalapeno yes! I have the Vita and Minters tempest like masterpiece. Tempest 4000 from Atari on PS4 & Xbox not too shabby either if you haven’t checked that out.
