I probably should have told them to discourage unofficial Nintendo sites to stop obsessing so much over Sega, but somehow I felt they might take my survey answers less seriously.
I'm not holding my breath for anything exciting, although folders would be nice so I could put the games I need carts for in a separate category. I just hope it's not something terrible like having to connect to the internet every time you turn the Switch on. I know that's extremely unlikely to happen because it would be detrimental to the Switch's main advantage over the competition, but you never know. Microsoft almost tried the always-online approach, and even though it was cancelled due to well-deserved backlash as well as being mocked by Sony, I doubt we'll see the last if that idea.
@dBackLash Nintendo should be fixing the joycon drift issues anyway. If they brag about fixing it for joycons that only work with the pro model, that should rightfully piss a lot of people off.
@sixrings I'm not concerned about them merely running better on a pro Switch, I'm concerned about newer games running poorly on the original because they were programmed specifically for the pro model so the original can't handle them well. This happened with Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3DS.
I hope it's at least a year away. I'm in no hurry to have my Nintendo Switch become obsolete. Even original-Switch-compatible games released after the pro unit comes out are likely to see suffer performance issues like input lag, slowdown, and choppy frame rate on the original.
@arekdougy I'm talking about a hands-free mount that's made of something much more durable and comfortable. I don't know if there's a gyro sensor in the Switch itself or only in the controllers so that could be a slight problem for some users.
@chewytapeworm Yes, it would not be waste of 20¢, it would be a waste of 18¢ max. This isn't the 1950s. I can easily part with such a miniscule amount of money.
@Clyde_Radcliffe After he was introduced in Sunshine, the rest of Bowser's children were demoted to mere minions and had their relationship to him retroactively altered. The father-son theme has been done to death in seemingly every form of entertainment and I'm just sick of it.
@NEStalgia They may not be much, but the soundtracks in Super Mario 3D All-Stars and the extra game that comes with the Switch port of Super Mario 3D World are hardly nothing. Still, I'd probably rather have gotten Super Mario 3D World for $20 less instead of seeing one of my most hated game characters again. (Seriously, Bowser Jr is one or the reasons I have so little respect for Shigeru Miyamoto these days.)
@Mario-Time-Whoa You seem like the definition of the type of apologetic superfan Carck was talking about. Be careful not to ingest all that boot polish building up in your mouth.
I'm not sure about Super Mario 35 (unless it's to sell more online subscriptions in a short burst), but aside from the "it's just for the anniversary" excuse, I wouldn't be surprised if many of the greedier people running Nintendo really just want to sell as many copies in as short amount of time of Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Fire Emblem as they can, and as disgusting as the limited supply and time methods are, they usually work. People are more likely to buy things if they don't believe they can buy them later.
As much as I'd love to get Tomb Raider, Parasite Eve, and/or 3D remakes of Final Fantasy 5 and 6 on Switch, I've played several Forever Entertainment games and I wasn't all that impressed. We don't even know if any of these remakes will be coming to Switch.
@Shadow_Dancer Tough Turf was the one. Thanks. I just watched a video on YouTube. You don't throw her off the roof, just knock her out or beat her to death (the ending doesn't clarify which). In the arcade version of Double Dragon 3, you fight Hiroko, but in the NES version, she just dies after entering entering the princess' tomb.
It's too bad Panzer Dragoon Orta was never put on Wii. It would have been great with Wiimote aiming. Unfortunately, the gyro functions of Joy-cons are so much less precise that Akaoni didn't even bother using them in the Switch port of Zombie Panic in Wonderland. Don't laugh, Sony fans. The Move controllers are even worse.
@Scollurio Constantly saving helpless women had it's place back in the old days, I guess, so I'm not really harping on those older games. I do find it annoying that Peach still needs to be rescued in almost every main Mario game though. I guess Super Princess Peach didn't sell well enough.
Speaking of old beat-em-ups where you have to rescue some girl, what's that one where she turns out to be the villain and you have to fight her on a rooftop?
@Damo The location for one thing. It's like that time you covered some beat-em-up game coming to Genesis. Why don't you start a Sega Life website or something? Is actual Nintendo news really that slim?
That's strange. Usually it's the Nintendo version that gets the axe. As others here have said though, it's coming to PS5 and XBS, and I think a lot of companies are moving on from Sony and Microsoft's older consoles even though the newer ones mostly offer backwards compatibility.
As sick as I am of the "damsel in distress" angle, I know that these are old games and that changing them wouldn't help. I don't think I'll buy either of these games though, and I hope HAMSTER ports Violent Storm (even though it has that same damn trope), Metamorphic Force, and Mystic Warriors before they stop working with Konami. Of course I also want The Simpsons, X-Men, and the two TMNT games, although I know I know it's strictly taboo... Er, I mean that's not likely happen because of licensing issues. Then again, Ubisoft did partner with Konami to port TMNT to Xbox 360, so who knows?
Meh. Agree to disagree. I guess a lot of people think breakable weapons add a positive challenge to the gameplay. I just find them to be a pain in the ass.
I wasn't really upset that this turned into a Star Fox game, but changing Krystal from a protagonist to a damsel in distress kind of killed the game for me. Well, that and those annoying parts where you have to carry barrels.
@NinjaWaddleDee I'm sure it will be great for modern fighting game enthusiasts who give it a try. Unfortunately for me, my reflexes have never been fast enough to handle the more technical fighting games where counters and extensive combos are crucial. If I can rent this though, I think I'll give it a try.
This explains why roughly half of the characters in the Street Fighter EX series were never seen in any other Street Fighter games. This accounts for SFEX's unusual music too.
I bought Namco Museum Archives Vol 1 a few days ago. I'm glad Nintendo finally implemented button mapping in the system menu (although I wish invert control stick options would have been added too) but I still wish this game had in-game button-mapping so I don't have to mess around with the system settings again when I choose a different game. It seems like a weird omission considering M2 has included it in most of their ports.
Is there a reason why they can't have settings for stuff like this? How hard can it be to enable changing a few simple graphics so everyone can be happy? Or are people also upset that someone else can see what they choose? What's next? Changing Cammy's outfit or at least her suggestive win pose?
Another thing. I know at least one guy who likes to play as female characters and is attracted to women. There are probably also girls who like to play as guys and still date other guys even in the virtual world so it's not just about the sexual orientation of the player. I seriously doubt every single person who plays this game will use an avatar with a matching gender.
"Tomodachi: New Life allowed male characters to marry and have children, but not women." Why were lesbian marriages specifically excluded? That sounds like an ancient Greek mentality.
The so-called "cases" against homosexual relationships hold about as much water as a tiny plastic colander that was knocked around with an aluminum baseball bat. I understand why religion was so important before modern science came along, but people should know better now. If some omnipotent force made some people gay, why would said force want them to act against their own nature? Also, in terms of keeping up a healthy population, that doesn't make sense either. There are way too many people on this planet, and a lot fewer accidental pregnancies could hardly be considered a bad thing to any logical person. Sorry. I got a little carried away.

I hope improving the controls means adding twin-stick or at least strafing options.
Re: Netflix Joins Mario's Doomsday Celebrations, Will Remove Super Mario Bros. 3 Cartoon On 31st March
I didn't even know the Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon was on Netflix. I thought it was just the Super Mario Bros. Super Show without the Zelda episodes.

yawn Somewhat interesting, but where the hell is that Wendy O. Koopa action figure?! Don't all her siblings have toys by now?!
