Super Impossible Road, a multiplayer racer that'll have you hurtling through space, will launch on Nintendo Switch next month before its arrival on other consoles, it's been confirmed.
Rogue Games' "lightning-paced" title will hit the Switch eShop on 9th December, priced at $19.99. The game offers a career mode, an endless mode, and multiplayer for two-to-four players, and all of these run at 60fps. That's right, even the four-player split-screen mode runs at 60fps – something that even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn't manage.
Here's a feature list:
CHEATING IS WINNING - Race down corkscrewing and zig-zagging tracks, get ridiculous air, and go off-course to zoom past competitors or make up lost time.
LEVELS GALORE - Race to the unique cosmic backdrops of alien planets, dangerous asteroid fields, and ferocious stars.
MULTIPLAYER MADNESS - Compete against friends in silky-smooth 60FPS gameplay with 2-4 player split screen races, or with up to 8 players in online cross-platform multiplayer.
MULTIPLE GAME MODES - Players can take on dozens of challenges in the Career mode, race a new track every day on the Daily Track, or see how long they can survive in various Endless Modes!

60fps? Timed-exclusivity for the Switch? Now that's some respect to the developers. This is how games should be developed.
Trailer footage looks exciting as all get out, but I'll wait for reviews to see what the gamefeel is like.
It's like a super crazy rainbow road marble madness
Definitely purchasing
This is fabulous fun on Apple Arcade, but the eShop screenshots looks pretty jaggy on my Switch OLED. Hope it still looks the part as presentation is a big part of Super Impossible Road.
Looks like a lot of fun
Too bad the music and sound effects made my ears bleed, because this is tempting.
"So guys, what if we made the trying to get crazy shortcuts in Rainbow Road into an actual game?" - The devs, probably.
Looks insane!!
The graphics are simple, but slick and stylish. :3
Very cool console debut from Gunstone and Wonderful Lasers!
Super Morphy Ball Banana Blitz?
On a separate note, this game will definitely break some Joy-Cons.
The lovechild of Monkey Ball and F-Zero?
This game could easily become a Metroid spinoff had Nintendo put their trademark on it, call it Metroid: Morph Ball Racers with a story that the Galactic Federation had force Samus and 3 of her bounty hunter friends to a morph ball contest to punish them for destroying the E.M.M.I. robots in Dread. The losers of the contest gets jail time while the winner gets a free trip to Mute City (F-Zero) or Corneria (Star Fox). Whichever city you choose is the next game Nintendo will make.
@ModdedInkling God, I hope this game reviews well on Switch. I am keeping my eye on this game
Super Monkey Ball X F-Zero GX?
Someone loved Amusement Vision as much as me lol. Keeping a beady eye on this one.
@CharlieGirl Agreed - if only they had the speed of F-Zero, I'd probably be sold on this one. Need more info on how it controls.
The shortcut is maybe too big? I’d just want the marble pod thing to fall straight to the finish, why bother with the narrow track at all?
@NinChocolate I dunno, the tracks look very long indeed (I would imagine especially in endless mode lol)
@GrailUK a big margin of cheat to win wouldn’t be appealing to all players if its high skill
@NinChocolate We will see. I love doing the crazy short cuts in Monkeyball.
This looks like an insanely difficult cross between F-Zero and Marble Madness.
By the way, I know this site needs ads to make money, but could you fix the format? It's hard to watch a video here when the screen jumps around to load a new ad every few seconds.
